Thank you for all the congrats and messages on the last thread. I didn’t reply to all of them as I thought it might be dull reading for everyone but I really appreciate the advice, understanding and general congratulatory comments. Bad news is I’m still stuck on the sofa feeling sick, but at least it won’t last forever (thank goodness!).

Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link and the and then last word and the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

No affiliate links please.

Referral thread here

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me k ow if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

Might be posted already, but Amazon now has the LOL hair goals in stock 🙂

SleeptightDaisy · 19/12/2018 22:13

If anyone is after a simple disco light we got a bulb from the range that you just swap with your normal bulbs. Only £2 to £4. My kids love it

I’ve bought a wooden tool box and wooden knock block, what age would you say suitable for as I’m not sure whether to put them away for next year??

Lacypants · 19/12/2018 22:21

I think I'm done. Might pick up a few stocking fillers And I'll buy myself a couple of bits last minute when I'm in town for work on Monday. But if it doesn't get done it's no big deal. I just need a few bits of nice food to nibble.

trixymalixy · 19/12/2018 22:39

So I ended up panic buying Dory Gifts Glasses Set of 6 Festive Christmas Bauble Fun Party Drinking Glasses + Straws ink{https://www. amazon.co.uk/dp/B075QFLCN7/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_nQPgCb5C9P7MX?tag=mumsnetforum-21www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B075QFLCN7/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_nQPgCb5C9P7MX?tag=mumsnetforum-21 these cool bauble glasses ]] for my friends’ kids.

Then the personalised decorations were waiting for me when I got home 🙈.
Oh well they’re pretty cool so I’ll just keep the glasses for us!

Spam88 · 19/12/2018 22:39

@ChristmasDaydreams depends on the particular one you've bought I suppose, but I've got a wooden toolbox for my 19 month old.

HoneyDragon · 19/12/2018 22:54

New Look have some great gifts reduced. Loads. Worth a look if you’re passing one and have the twitch.

TimeForMy10thCuppa · 19/12/2018 23:18

Thanks for the new thread reastie.

So I bought a bunch of animal chocolate bars and started wrapping them to look like snowmen. Then DH told me to stop as they may contain nuts. So now I need some super cheap gifts for 30 children. If it's chocolate or sweets it can't contain nuts, eggs or gelatine.
I need them tomorrow so I can give them out Friday.
Any ideas? I would appreciate it so much. Small toys would work as well. But I have a tiny budget. Maybe £20 at most, but the cheaper the better. Thanks in advance.

sheepwithoneear · 19/12/2018 23:26

Time Tesco have all their Christmas sweets reduced - chocolate reindeers and unicorns 50p bags of chocolate coins 50p. Tubes of buttons of freddo faces 50p

Asj0405 · 20/12/2018 00:38

@TimeForMy10thCuppa if you have a home bargains/b&m close to you they usually do novelty pencils for about 50p each you don't mention how old the children are but my 4 year old would love anything like that as would my almost 10 year old, they also do packs of smelly rubbers etc which seem to be popular with both boys and girls in my kids classes

duriandurian · 20/12/2018 06:13

@timeformy10thcuppa Poundland sells cute Christmas pencils- 6 for £1! Add a gold coin- they tend to be intolerant items free? Or large Snowman crackers, 3 for £2.

smartiecake · 20/12/2018 06:42

Most chocolate coins are not suitable for nut allergy sufferers. I really have to look to find suitable ones for my son.

Omgineedanamechange · 20/12/2018 06:55

Could any of you geniuses help please. I’d bought my daughter an echo dot for Christmas, and she’s just announced she’s moving abroad to a country where it won’t work 😔 what on earth can I get her to replace it. She’s 35, and not into jewellery or make up.

1stMrsF · 20/12/2018 07:02

namechange something suitable for the new home country? (E.g. warm cosy things if it's a cold place or vice versa, a guide book, a phrase book, book about culture/customs...). Or how about a Gridit (an organiser for travel, have a look on Amazon) or a really decent travel bag? Consumables?

My DSis who is 35 and not girly has asked for cosy bedlinen, a soft shell jacket and bourbon whiskey.

margaritasbythesea · 20/12/2018 07:03

TimeForMy10thCuppa - my tesco has their party bag gifts on 5 for the price of 4. They have quite big packs of Lego brick shaped rubbers which could be split up for a pound.

margaritasbythesea · 20/12/2018 07:06

1stMrsF - for the bedlinen, matalan have brushed cotton sheets and sets. Tesco's were doing litre bottles of Jack Daniels for 15 quid I think.

arealnamechanger · 20/12/2018 07:09

Not sure if it’s been mentioned but Playmobil Night Train is down to £8.99 on Amazon. Best price according to CCC. Look under other sellers. The catch is it’s not available until January but might be good for early birthdays.

ChristmasDaydreams · 20/12/2018 07:09

@Spam88 thank you. It’s a sainsburys one which looks very much like the chad valley ones. I’ll get it out later and try decide if he’s getting it this year or next!

Casablanca78 · 20/12/2018 07:11

@Yeknom thanks for the toothbrush offer - I’ve just ordered and there was also a bundle deal to get a free pack of replacement heads worth £5.47. So bargain really if usually the RRP is £80. Appareciate though they are selling as faulty batch due to battery issues.

margaritasbythesea · 20/12/2018 07:19

If you spend over £20 before lunchtime, Tatty Divine are offering next day delivery for 99p

Alanamackree · 20/12/2018 07:21

My ds’ nut-allergic friend can eat white choc, if that helps.

Spam88 · 20/12/2018 07:22

@ChristmasDaydreams it's the Sainsbury's one I've got! It might be slightly beyond her at the moment but I think in a couple of months it'll be perfect. I am a bit nervous about her wielding that hammer though...

ChristmasDaydreams · 20/12/2018 07:28

@Spam88 I’ll keep it for next year then, save myself a year of breakages!!

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 20/12/2018 08:01

Aghhhh bloody Debenhams - I wait all week for a discount code, give up in a panic last night and place my order (nearly £300) only to wake up to a 10% off everything email grrr. Anyone reckon I’ll get any joy if I get in touch with them?

QOD · 20/12/2018 08:16

Wohooo
