Thank you for all the congrats and messages on the last thread. I didn’t reply to all of them as I thought it might be dull reading for everyone but I really appreciate the advice, understanding and general congratulatory comments. Bad news is I’m still stuck on the sofa feeling sick, but at least it won’t last forever (thank goodness!).

Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link and the and then last word and the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

No affiliate links please.

Referral thread here

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me k ow if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

MerryTwinkletoes · 21/12/2018 07:23

Some good reduction at Argos today if anyone else like me is still last minute shopping!

Playmobil 123 train £8.99 matches amazon yesterday www.argos.co.uk/product/7286889

Plus loads of really bargainous board games but unfortunately none of the ones I want are in stock at my store!

ChristmasDaydreams · 21/12/2018 07:55

Thank you for the olaymobil 123 train, ordered one for next Christmas!! ConfusedGrin

BobDobbs · 21/12/2018 08:18

@PickleMeThis Co op label their own wines to say if they are vegetarian or vegan. They also have fair trade ones.

Jfw82 · 21/12/2018 08:32

Had despatch email from landsend at 1am- tracking shows already at my local Hermes depot and due for delivery today..... thing is they're actually gifts for next year as I was done and will have to fight temptation to wrap them and gift them this year Grin

Duckswaddle · 21/12/2018 08:47

Gah amazon put the price of those hatchibabies back up to £35 as I was adding it to my basket!

Iggi999 · 21/12/2018 09:17

Wrapping presents and have completely forgotten to buy for a friend - new mum, couldn’t pin down her size (medium?!) uses a wheelchair some of the time so tend to avoid scarves/gloves for that reason. I’m going to have to go out in the real world and buy something desperate from marks and Spencer’s aren’t I? (I have already got for her dd, babies are easy!)

Notlongnow1 · 21/12/2018 09:20

Anyone else get very excited to see the Accessorize poncho with fur hailed as an 'absolute bargain' on Lorraine as it's £28 down from £35! Little do they know!

Ahamstercalledspam · 21/12/2018 09:24

Vicious2018 Thanks for the Hatchibabies tip Smile

Duckswaddle the Cheetree one is still available on Amazon for £22.99 under other sellers. Option of free delivery but won’t arrive until after Christmas.

Iggi999 · 21/12/2018 09:26

Not a present, but McDonald’s have just emailed me this link www.reindeerready.co.uk you take a photo of your living room and they make a short video of a reindeer eating carrots in your house!! I was very excited watching it and I know it’s fake, ds will flip!

I think I'm done.. Have no intention of braving town shops now as I know it will be helish. However I have a quandary..
A friend of mine is on UC and despite her working constantly, has no money as they have buggered up her payments, her ex pays nothing for her son and work won't pay her till after Xmas.
I know she's seriously fed up. I'd like to get her something, but don't know what, also I can't say it's from me she'll think it's charity as we agreed not to do presents.
I've toyed with the idea of a delivery of food, but really I'm not sure when she will be in. Thought maybe a card with a voucher from a secret santa...but is that too weird?

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 21/12/2018 09:43

youcantscareme I like the idea of an anonymous voucher, you could write ‘pay it forward when you are in a better place’

margaritasbythesea · 21/12/2018 09:46

Youcantscaremeihavechildren - I think a voucher through the door for somewhere where you can buy food or toys, clothes etc would be really appreciated.

margaritasbythesea · 21/12/2018 09:47

Wh Smith clearance sale with giftwrap, cards etc is online.

Lovemusic33 · 21/12/2018 09:55

Youcant I would send her a voucher for a supermarket so she can go and buy some nice food, maybe send it today/tomorrow so she can use it for her Christmas food shop?

Youcantscaremeihavechildren · 21/12/2018 10:06

Thanks all. I'm just hoping it won't freak her out? I guess if it does she would probably tell me and then I could fess up if needed. I think I'll get a love to shop voucher as it can be used anywhere. I was just going to order online but I've just realised I've gone bank as to her door number! I'll have to deliver today as she's at work. I think if I got a thing like that I'd be a bit freaked but ultimately pleased... I hope!

PunkAssMoFo · 21/12/2018 10:33

I think a Tesco or Asda gift card would be more useful if she needs food. Can also be used for clothes and toys.

@Iggi999 thank you for sharing! That’s brilliant.

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 21/12/2018 11:02

Nerf laser guns down to £25 for the two pack on amazon. GO. I had ordered them from Argos and collected this morning as thought they weren't going down. I paid £39.99 so I'll be returning them

Gentlygently · 21/12/2018 11:45

If anyone is doing real life shopping, Lidl had some lovely childrens apron/oven gloves/tea towel sets. 4-6 yrs, £4.99. Snowman or stars designs. I had to keep tight hold on myself not to buy dozens for every child I know!

Gentlygently · 21/12/2018 11:46

QOD Lidl had fur lined crocs?
