Thank you for all the congrats and messages on the last thread. I didn’t reply to all of them as I thought it might be dull reading for everyone but I really appreciate the advice, understanding and general congratulatory comments. Bad news is I’m still stuck on the sofa feeling sick, but at least it won’t last forever (thank goodness!).

Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link and the and then last word and the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

No affiliate links please.

Referral thread here

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me k ow if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

Cheeky love the advent calendars, such a bargain.

I went real life shopping today, managed to get a few bits in Lush (snow fairy) but not much left in the sale, I really wanted the snow fairy spray but they had sold out.

Kitted dd out with some clothes, primary had trousers and tops for £3 (adult sizes) and bought her a coat in newlook for £29 reduced from £60.

Lovemusic33 · 03/01/2019 16:33

Also (not a bargain but a good little money maker), saw that a few people had won money with heart bingo, open an account, deposit £10 and they give you £50 worth of bingo tickets of spins (I think, can’t quite remember), I played it for 20 minute and won £100, took it straight out so technically turned my tenner into £100 which paid for my shopping today.

@Lovemusic33 gambling is hardly a bargain. Totally the wrong thread. Gambling ruins lives. I have seen the damage it does.

Lovemusic33 · 03/01/2019 17:22

Sorry cheeky I don’t usually gamble, it was a offer that I saw others doing, I did the offer and closed my account. Sorry if it’s not appropriate for the thread.

CheekyFucker · 03/01/2019 19:40

I am glad of that @Lovemusic33 as it can drag you in. I bet it came in handy!

Reastie · 03/01/2019 19:47

Purple those smiggle advent calendars look good but annoyingly postage cost is £5 and I don’t want to buy anything else there.

I need your assistance please bargain and festive warriors.

Im going to buy my Christmas crackers this month. I would like ones made from recyclable paper and with edible or wooden or practical non plastic tat inside.

Can anyone recommend any? Thanks in advance

Has anyone used the Aveda code lately? I put something in my basket a couple of days ago, but didn't check out because I didn't really need it, went back to it today and when I register it says I don't meet the criteria.

NoWordForFluffy · 04/01/2019 17:52

Apparently a load of large Yankee candles are only £11.99 each for today only.

strangerthongs · 04/01/2019 22:46

can anyone help me find a really cheap Nintendo switch for DD's upcoming birthday? She's asking for quite a lot for her birthday and I'm rather short in money!

PinkDaydreams · 05/01/2019 09:33

Where can we post bargains we are on the hunt for? I’m after garden toys but it doesn’t feel right asking on the Christmas thread!

CheekyFucker · 05/01/2019 09:51

I have started a thread in Money Matters. No idea how to link to it.

NoWordForFluffy · 05/01/2019 10:28

These threads run almost year-round, so it's OK to ask here, though we get less traffic in the few months post-Christmas (understandably).

Reastie · 05/01/2019 10:51

Pink it’s for stashing Christmas presents year round and general bargains so someone might find something for you

Stranger I think it’s tricky to get switch much reduced atm

OP posts:
Iggi999 · 05/01/2019 11:42

Sorry I don’t think Switches are ever cheap - they are more expensive than an Xbox for example.

Iggi999 · 05/01/2019 11:42

Cross post

Graffitiqueen · 05/01/2019 12:29

@strangerthongs I bought the switch for my kids from Very with £30 off opening a new credit account. Don’t know what prices are like atm so might not be cheaper but worth looking at.

strangerthongs · 05/01/2019 12:38

not really keen on opening an account as I know of people who got into trouble with those credit accounts. I'd rather find one in the sales or using a good discount code. I'm not convinced DD will use it much and suspect she only wants one because everyone else has one.

NoWordForFluffy · 05/01/2019 12:50

But it only gets out of control if you let it. You could close the account as soon as you've had the credit if that's the best way to get a discount.

We keep our account open for fridge / freezer / washing machine emergencies in times of low cash flow. We don't go mad with it at all!

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 05/01/2019 13:10

So pleased these threads are still going?

Browsing the Dower & Hall website and they have beautiful silver necklaces with a pearl pendant for £25 from £75. It's a beautiful jewellers and a really good saving.

Comes in 4 different pearl colours

PinkDaydreams · 05/01/2019 13:31

@Reastie thank you! I’ll keep on posting any bargains I find on here then.

Lots of reduced Harry Potter merchandise in Hawkins bizarre!!

PinkDaydreams · 05/01/2019 13:33

I did create a thank you friend a few weeks back to say thanks to everyone for all the bargains but no one replied!
I’ll give my thanks once again in here instead. Had all sorts of bargains and so glad that I’ve already got father’s day, mother’s day, birthdays and even Christmas bits sorted Smile if it wasn’t for you all I’d have ended up spending a fortune! I’ve managed to buy really nice quality presents all reduced.
I’ll shut up now! Flowers

gaggiagirl · 05/01/2019 20:55

If anyone here lives near darlington, The Works is closing down and everything must go. The things I took to the till were further reduced at the till. I got a lovely heavy tape dispenser for wrapping my Christmas presents with, what else! For £1 and lovely pens were BOGOF.
