Hi,

Whilst I got some great ideas from a previous thread, I'm still struggling for one last thing for my wife. I'm thinking Jewellery? The problem is that over the years I've bought most of the usual things - Links bracelet, Tiffany necklace, silver bangles.

What could I buy her that's going to be appreciated and outside the normal stuff? She's 41 and I'm looking to spend somewhere around £200 - £300.

What are your favourite pieces of jewellery at the moment?

Yours in increasing panic

Carl

Pair of Dubarry’s to walk the dogs in style then.

Didiusfalco · 17/12/2018 21:10

Something from Joshua Ellis, there’s 20% off first order. Lots of lovely designs, perfect for dog walking

I know you said that you draw the line at the Dyson hairdryer, but it’s fab!
I never would have bought it for myself, I got it as a surprise Christmas present. I am also middle class personified

Pinkyyy · 17/12/2018 22:39

Thanks for all the suggestions usually helps OP

The rings from Annoushka are amazing (stacking). I have a Ruby one. Also love Theo Fennell rings and Georg Jensen do really love magic bracelets.

Could always go high end and opt for mikimoto pearls?

PizzaPlanet · 17/12/2018 23:03

She sounds like the woman who has everything she wants! How about a bike?

Fashionista101 · 17/12/2018 23:11

Ooooh I'm absolutely living for Maria tash earrings at the moment

Carleatspeas · 18/12/2018 09:25

I've given up on any jewellery. It's a minefield.

Now I'm thinking perfume - maybe Chloe? Or the new Coco mademoiselle

Also maybe some make-up? Is there any way I can get a great kit for a certain complexion? What would be best in the £200 arena?

Bastide smelly oils with or without sticks from Liberty. Personalised bottle of Le Labo perfume, also Liberty.

SouthWestmom · 18/12/2018 09:36

My favourite presents have been a Missoni scarf and a Vivienne Westwood scarf.

Fashionista101 · 18/12/2018 10:11

Hahha jewellery is a hard one I think.

Perfume, personally love a Jo Malone. You could but a big perfume and then the same smelling body lotion and bath oil or same smelling candle to light whilst using bath oil. That would make me very happy.

Make up, that's quite a hard one for someone else also. I have recently got this palette and am using it literally every day which I didn't really think I would -

Ragwort · 18/12/2018 10:18

Does she actually want a surprise? Hmm Have you actually asked her what she would like?

buckeejit · 18/12/2018 10:59

Alan ardriff - beautiful gold & silver pendants that move

KMoKMo · 18/12/2018 11:11

Ask her friends! Not complete strangers on the internet who don’t know her.

BarbedBloom · 18/12/2018 11:18

The Huda beauty palettes are quite nice, I currently want the highlighter one. A lot of stands have some lovely gift sets this time of year. What makeup brands does she have already (sneak a look in her makeup bag) as you could go to the counter and they could put you something nice together.

Perfume wise, 4160 Tuesday do sample sets for about £25 if you wanted something small to accompany a bigger present. I also like the personalising your own perfume gift suggested previously. Jo Malone normally a safe bet too

Mummyoftwo91 · 18/12/2018 11:27

What about some perfume and candles from jo malone

KC225 · 18/12/2018 12:06

Shaun Leane. Edgy jeweller designer. Did the jewellery for Alexander Mcqueen shows etc. A lot of it was featured in the big V&A exhibition. Was going gto suggest the claw or hook earrings but I see you have bought earrings. They so do quill rings and bracelets.

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 18/12/2018 12:13

I would like a night away in a hotel with a spa.
I would also appreciate a bracelet to match an existing necklace or necklace to match existing bracelet.
I also like rings but they are difficult to buy if you don't know her size.

BeaLola · 18/12/2018 18:18

You mention Chanel so how about the limited edition red bottle No 5 EDP that is around at the moment - £130 - I love Chanel perfumes & have bought this as a gift

If she likes bath oils etc a set from Aromatherapy Associates - code MERRY25 gives 25% off until Wed pm.

Le Pliage rucksack - I love mine.

Carleatspeas · 18/12/2018 21:00

Can I just clarify this. It’s the same Channel No 5 perfume, but in a red bottle. This makes it twice the price?

OP posts:
BeaLola · 21/12/2018 20:06

The Chanel No 5 EDP 100 ml is normally about £110 I think ? The red bottle limited edition is £130 so not double but yes more expensive.

Hi Carl, I would go for handmade jewellery, a small business like prettywildjewellery.co.uk loving this twig bangle

Pretty
I was going to post to Carl
"Oh I don't know , maybe wait six months because it's Erm the First of June "

I reckon as this thread is 18 months old he'll have sorted his presents out .

PrettyWild · 01/06/2020 19:25

Nothing wrong with shopping early Smile it is June, and only 5 monthly wages left Wink I googled for something and this thread came up, I was to engrossed reading the thread to even think what day or month it is, never mind the year! its giving me some ideas for my own Christmas gift list. so thank you Grin
