Last minute things to do List

I'm just trying to think of everything I have to do next week (boys finish fri), without being super specific, could you post your last minute things to do list? I feel like I'm forgetting things but can't think! Maybe seeing it written here might remind someone else too.

Of 27 things on my list, I've ticked off 4 so far.

Will do another 3 over lunch.

And thanks to ChocolateWorshipper, I'm also adding "fill car with petrol"

I've been out to get hay for the guinea pigs, thanks to the poster up thread who mentioned that! I would have forgot otherwise.

My food delivery is booked. I need to stop looking and adding stuff I don't need.
Oven needs a clean.
I have a few things left to wrap.

I found a present I haven’t wrapped so I’ve done that.
Fridge has been washed out as main food shop arrives tonight, will buy last minute bits on Saturday morning.
Aprons have been washed and the doormat is in the washing machine.
Still need to change beds, clean kitchen, ice cake and make sausage rolls

Buy wine and chocolates for Christmas Day
Wrap up presents
Go to the shops tomorrow morning to buy some last minute things
Hang up stockings
Make mulled wine
Bake Christmas cake etc at the weekend
Organise a Christmas party

I need to find the safe place where I left all of my enthusiasm! After that, just some minor wrapping followed by gin glugging.
I had a heap of sewing to finish and some socks to knit, but I've given up on that for now.

Kids break off tomorrow lunch time.

  • Get nails done (completely optional, I know, but I booked in ages ago when I thought I had a handle on things)
  • Royal ice christmas cakes
  • Buy Christmas veg (tomorrow after dropping DD off at nursery)
  • Buy more booze for hostess gifts/when people pop in
  • Get DH's packed lunches ready for the

Buy food, run the hoover and duster round, maybe make some more mince pies and sausage rolls, find some reading matter for a 13 year old that's not too raunchy.

Ahhhh I am so glad for Mumsnet. Thought I was all done with the online shopping, scrupulously going through the recipes to make sure all the ingredients are on and I forgot the get-ahead gravy. Thank you to whoever posted that on here, I SWEAR by that!!

Wrap all presents
Clean out fridge
Do big everything food and drink shop
Wash bedding
Wash cushion covers
Steam clean dining chairs ( never buy fabric seat chairs with teenagers in the house, as bad as toddlers)
Deep clean anywhere visitors might roam to
Dye hair
Get nails done
Cancel milk for when we go away

cranberry sauce.
gravy.
change/wash bedding.
sit and circle what to watch in the radio times hehe
last minute stock check on booze and choc.
check weight of turkey and cooking times.
wrap and find presents.
make sure there is room in fridge.
buy more selotape.
check towels are washed.
check online orders.
check soft drink
buy read rolled pastry for last minute mince pie dash.
stuffing
more cereal in.
get angry at the bin men for missing a week and then missing more because they wont then collect the black the week after!

My 'last minute' list has gone out the window, several years of DH being paid today for Christmas has suddenly changed without warning so I have -£3 in the bank until Christmas Eve 😣

Buy DHs present because the knob managed to get given a free pair of AirPods yesterday through work. So my lovingly thought out, purchased well in advance gift will have to go back to apple and I will trudge out to the shops when I thought I was all finished Angry

Actually managed to increase my "done" list last night. Slightly.

Still have presents to buy (extended family, neighbours - and something small for DH)
Presents to finish (sewing)
All presents to wrap
Put up garland
Buy flowers and make the arrangement
Fill car with petrol
Buy 2 bags of logs
Get some meat/fish for Sunday dinner, and buy a turkey
Clean out the stove and refill the log box
Clear off the dining table
Do some baking

But it feels slightly less panicked than earlier this week. Strangely, I think that's partly because I DIDN'T do any sewing last night, I just sat with DH and watched the Masterchef final and some comedy programmes, and we both just relaxed!!

The only thing of the above that is urgent before Tuesday is to get a turkey. And wrap the presents for our house. And I finish work today, so we will start to have time over the weekend - finally!
