If you filled your own stocking...

I'm seriously considering getting my own little bits for my stocking and a few bits for dh. Stockings were my most treasured aspect of Christmas as a child but dh gets very stressed about present giving so I'm thinking of just doing it for both of us and not saying until Christmas eve. The dc are asking about mummy and daddy's stockings (FC brings stockings and one present here) so I'd like to do them.

So far I'm thinking for mine:
Nice dark chocolate
Nice body moisturiser
Fluffy socks
Nice pants
Book
Snow globe

What would you put in your own stocking as little treats/luxuries you wouldn't normally buy?

That’s a good idea 👍🏼☺️

I’d get the following:

Luxury milk chicks (Godiva)
Perfume (Chanel or Dior)
Fluffy socks for bed
Rubix cube (old school)
Couple of satsumaS
Chocolate orange (old school)
A lovely red lipstick (Ester Lauder, Dior or Chanel)
And a magazine subscription

Feels silly but if I had the money I’d totally do it 😁

I gave beautiful stockings from the USA but mine is always empty. I only normally do them for my DC. This year I’m doing them for nephews and nieces but not plastic rubbish, stuff that’s actually useful

FoofFighter · 09/12/2018 19:05

Keyrings are good too.

mysteryfairy · 09/12/2018 19:14

Invisibobbles as I begrudge paying for them.

Quite fancy trying the Hourglass mascara. There is a half size one around £13, useful as reviews so divided.

I love the bars of chocolate coated marzipan with a layer of Nutella like stuff that come from Lidl or Aldi.

Can of baileys latte thing maybe. I’d also be pleased with any Christmassy San pellegrino can, little bottles of fentimans especially cherry cola and other interesting soft drinks. If adding them to an ocado order possibly some nice nuts too - I like almonds but cashews, pistachios etc also good.

Falke or Wolford tights ideally from TK Maxx.

Maybe a copy of grazia if it’s still going. Haven’t read in an age but could flick through at Xmas.

If we have any trips planned I quite like a guide book to wherever we are heading - I know there is tons online but it just helps me get the sense of it.

Order a personalised jar of marmite from their website if you like it.

suddenlypanicked · 09/12/2018 19:15

Some ham (iberico)
Salted dried crackers
Lychees from Harris's (I've never had better but they were like £1 each 🙄)

Perfume
Socks
Face cream

Oh this sounds nice

GlassHearts · 09/12/2018 19:19

I’ve got myself a stocking, first Christmas single after 8 years so felt the need to treat myself.

I have a couple of eos lip balms, joe and sephs popcorn, socks and a terrys chocolate orange.

Can’t wait!

HelenaJustina · 09/12/2018 19:24

I always get a stocking from DH! I do the DC. Nothing in our stockings is more than £3-5 per item, usually much less.

And now also do one for MiL, I did the first one for her a few years ago when we were giving her theatre tickets and I wanted it to look a bit more festive. She actually cried, as she hadn’t had a stocking since childhood. So now it’s a tradition to do her one too.

I tend to buy a few bits for mine as I’m the one out shopping and see things I’d like/need but I’m doing less and less as the DC get old enough to steer DH! The quality of all my presents across the year is improving as they have more input...

So far I’ve got;
some festive earrings from H&M
Fluffy socks from Primark
Dark chocolate Brazil nuts
2 for £3 Green and Blacks Maya Gold
Toothbrush

It will also have a magazine in it and maybe some stationary from The Works.
