Thread 12 - where we hope Black Friday doesn't turn out to just be slightly grey

@Reastie is obviously busy getting her sprouts on, so I've set up a new thread just to keep us moving.

Previous thread here with Reastie's usual helpful posts.

Remember everyone, it's only a bargain if you need it and check it hasn't been cheaper before/isn't cheaper somewhere else! Happy Thanksgiving Xmas Wink

(Rejoining after falling off about 3 threads ago due to work pressure- but back to Christmas preparations now!)

I tried the M&S YESPLEASE code and it said it’s not valid in the UK. Would love to know whether anyone else got it to work.

Not very festive but FitFlop have an extra 10% off everything with the code BLACK10. (That’s one for all the other plantar fasciitis sufferers out there! 👍🏻)

sunshine the kindle fire is £29.99 on Amazon. My 10 year old loves hers for roblox and Minecraft. Or do you mean a reading kindle?

IveGotALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 22/11/2018 12:56

https://www.aplaceforeverything.co.uk/ is having good sales - up to 60% off, though mostly around 20%. I actually tend to use the site for ideas, then search for cheaper versions elsewhere 😊

Afternoon bargain hunters - can someone please help a total novice here. I've just bought my mum the magazine subscription and paid £5 for 5 mags. Then I've had to set up a direct debit to renew after 6 months for £19 a month. Do I just cancel that after she's received the 5 mags?

HoneyDragon · 22/11/2018 13:01

@maranello

Mine is being delivered today but I had cracked and ordered the WB one. So will have to return. I’m still annoyed at Amazon as their last email stated they’d sold out, and they accused me of lying that they’d taken payment for it. Then lied and said it was “reserved” in Amazon Hmm it’s the principle, I want them to acknowledge they cocked up and aplogised.

Last Black Friday they cocked up my order and accidentally refunded me £100. I called and informed them and they had no idea it had happened and I returned the money to them after they offered to let me keep it. (Wish I had now after this crap Grin). If I can be a decent customer they should be decent retailers

Hey ho. Won’t preorder with Amazon again though.

Jfw82 · 22/11/2018 13:15

@BeauticianNotMagician81 I was bought a tile for my birthday (and already had bought one for my sister and my best friends dh for Xmas when I saw them in a lightning deal). I don't lose my keys often but being able to make them chirp has helped me confirm they're def somewhere in my handbag/the changing bag Blush and there's enough on my keys already it doesn't make the key ring much bigger

MyArris · 22/11/2018 13:22

M&S code said not valid in UK for me as well

CarrotVan · 22/11/2018 13:23

Not sure who asked about Elemis cancelling orders on the last thread but mine has been dispatched.

whenwillthetwitchstrike · 22/11/2018 13:24

Ocado have an eclectic selection of items in their Black Friday sale including Nip&Fab products, Orla Kiely items, Lego, Melissa & Doug and a range of vibrators! I doubt any Cristal drinkers are in need of a bargain but, if they are, it is down from £180 to £130 a bottle

whenwillthetwitchstrike · 22/11/2018 13:26

And thanks for the heads up on play doh. I've been waiting for one of those items to drop.
If anyone else feels a twinge if guilt about the regularity of Amazon orders, I have just switched my default from one day to standard as I am bound to buy some more bits in coming days and this way they might be able to group the deliveries.

RemyRelax · 22/11/2018 13:32

Aspinal Of London

Then once that expires it’s 15% off with code CHRISTMAS15

Valasca · 22/11/2018 13:43

Claire’s are doing buy 3 and get 3 on LOL dolls. The only catch is the pill sizes are £18 (£15 elsewhere) and lil sister balls are £9 (£6 elsewhere).

Valasca · 22/11/2018 13:44

But 3 and 3 additional 3 free, i should say 🤪

Jfw82 · 22/11/2018 13:44

Don't know if anyone was looking at anything from Sonos but there reductions are now on including Sonos Beam £349 instead of £399- John Lewis and others have at same price as with Sonos direct

Valasca · 22/11/2018 13:44

Gaaah. I give up. Buy 3 and get 3 more free

SilkieAndMoonface · 22/11/2018 13:52

Does anyone know of a bargain on something like Beer52 but for cider? DH much prefers cider and I'd love to get him a tasting box for Christmas but I can't find anything that's not way above budget, especially as most want p&p too.

Thank you everyone for the bargains over these threads, they've been helpful.

MissRainbowBrite · 22/11/2018 13:58

Playmobils own website has 25% off your whole order with BLUEDAYSUK, valid on orders over £30 until 30th November.

AlbusPercival · 22/11/2018 14:00

Wellfuckmeinbothears · 22/11/2018 14:07

Just checking in! I need some ideas for a ds whose 10. He’s Pokemon mad, loves his tablet and teddies. And for ds2 who is 7 had football mad. He loves match attax football cards.

OhRex · 22/11/2018 14:08

Thank you @tiggles Jurassic Jim is amazing!!! Will also look at Lisa Angel

TheGrandHighWitch · 22/11/2018 14:15

@RemyRelax I haven't seen any play money sets with plastic/wooden notes (although the plastic ones might be out there now the £5/£10 notes are polymer). Could you get the paper ones and laminate them?

SocraticCat · 22/11/2018 14:27

@BeauticianNotMagician81 your tile photo has your postcode on the top - I've reported it but you might want to contact MNHQ yourself.

hohosnow · 22/11/2018 14:33

ASOS has 20% off everything with code HELLO20

Anyone seen any deals on women's sunglasses (I know, not exactly seasonal but DM has requested a new pair)?
