Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link and the and then last word and the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

No affiliate links please.

Referral thread here

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me k ow if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

Studio have got got quite a lot of Christmas cards in their Black Friday stuff - including lots of packs of 20 small ones for 49p that would be good for kids. Some quite nice bigger ones in packs of 10 for under £1 too. Code 029 will give free delivery for new customers too. It's also pay after delivery for all those of us whose paydays fall after Black Friday too 😁

akmum18 · 18/11/2018 20:52

Thanks everyone I’ll look into all those, tailrunner she is a she lol very girly girl but has every princess/fairy tale/ unicorn book going already. Theowlandme that sounds like a playmobil knights set my nephew has I think I have seen an Argos chad valley version too

Iggi999 · 18/11/2018 21:05

Argh! Echo dot plus plug now showing as 6-8 week delivery on amazon! Dot on its own still showing as 6th december in stock. But i really wanted the plug!

Drummingisfun · 18/11/2018 21:10

theowlandme
Papo Knights, horses and dragons are lovely quality. Schleich ones too.
Early learning centre also make some which are fairly similar but a bit less detailed. We got a wooden castle second hand but no idea what brand it is.

Notso · 18/11/2018 21:21

TheOwlandMe If you don't mind second hand as I've done a quick search and can't find them new I can recommend the Imaginext castle there's a talking dragon you can get to go with it and all kinds of knights etc. We got our when my younger two were 3 and 2 and now at 7 and 6 it's still played with.

Spam88 · 18/11/2018 21:33

I'm sure Lidl had wooden castles...? Don't know if they have toys in again now before Christmas though.

Elphaba17 · 18/11/2018 21:44

Iggi999 I find a lot of the time Amazon will dispatch items much earlier than their estimated dates so might be worth a shot?

SmithyDarlingLetsDoShots · 18/11/2018 21:55

Costco had wooden castles in again last week, I cant find them on their site but my DS has one and its fab!

Search for this plug. It's almost as good as that dot plus plug offer but I didn't want to wait. It's arrived today and it's working perfectly.

Smart Plug ANEKEN WiFi Plug Work with Amazon Alexa Google Assistant,Remote Control with Timer Scene Setting Function,Energy Saving Assistant No Hub Required,Smart Socket Support IFTTT

I also use stateside candy for American sweets

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 18/11/2018 21:56

@TheOwlandMe I agree, it sounds like he might be describing Playmobil? My ds1 has the Black Baron Knight Castle from last Christmas and this year I've bought him a dragon to add to it.

It's played with all the time and always the most popular toy on play dates. Annoyingly, given it has a fuckton of pieces 🤦🏻‍♀️

Jfw82 · 18/11/2018 22:07

To those looking for Boden codes have had Black Friday flyer through saying 30% off everything on orders over £30 from Tuesday (no code needed)

rosablue · 18/11/2018 22:26

@waitwhatoh Poundland has lots of American sweets and often they have things for a pound that are selling for £2-3 in Sainsbury’s.

They don’t have everything but do have a good selection of the more well known American sweets so definitely worth checking out.

maybeitsbecauseim · 18/11/2018 22:34

Does anyone remember what the website was a few threads back with offers on Schleich animals? Didn’t need it then but do now - bloody typical!

Carrie76 · 18/11/2018 22:43

@rosablue and @lokibear thanks so much for the baking supplies tips will check them all out

NeedMoreTea · 18/11/2018 22:55

Does anyone think Hotel Chocolat will have any Black Friday deals? I'm sure I remember someone mentioning a discount for them on one of the threads but I can't find it now.

loka · 18/11/2018 23:03

I thought I saw somewhere the squishes advent calendar mentioned but can't find it now. Does anyone remember it please?

hmslfc · 18/11/2018 23:04

maybeitsbecauseim was it www.toysandlearning.co.uk/schleich

maybeitsbecauseim · 18/11/2018 23:06

Thank you!

TheOwlandMe · 18/11/2018 23:08

Thank you to everyone for the ideas and suggestions re the castle and dragon. I’ll look into them all. I’m in two minds a little though. He just doesn’t play with that type of toy normally though maybe he’s starting to enjoy it more (saw him using a playmobil police truck today which he got last xmas and never normally gives a second glance at!) He also has shown no interest and hasn’t mentioned castles knights or dragons to me once! In fact he refused to read Room in the Broom as he didn’t like the dragon Confused His gran said tonight that he’d told her also that santa was bringing a castle with knights and a dragon 🤷‍♀️ arent children funny —confusing—

thaegumathteth · 18/11/2018 23:26

-akmum dd just turned 8 likes the super cat books and also Tom Fletcher

Someone please help me with ideas for da turning 11 at Christmas. Likes football, star wars, Harry Potter and reading. Has a PS4. Help!

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 18/11/2018 23:27

theowlandme how about a Lego castle? There used to be a range with castles and knights in, not sure if they still do it. But im sure you could find one on eBay. You might even find a dragon from that range or maybe a Harry potter/lord if the rings Dragon.

thaegumathteth · 18/11/2018 23:28

@Ioka
I don’t remember where it is but I remember looking at it and it had a long delivery date on it. Also worried about the safety of the squishier.

BeaLola · 19/11/2018 00:16

I think I'm imagining it but in case not was there a code earlier for Freixinet?

loka · 19/11/2018 01:09

Thank thaegumatheth.
You might be right there with the worries about safety. I think I will look into getting Lego one instead

Isadora2007 · 19/11/2018 01:47

@NewDayBlankPage
Do your parents live near a Dobbies? You can get a membership for £12 (or £10 of you pay by direct debit) that gets them a free coffee every month plus invite only discounts across the year. You could bulk it out with a planter/pot plant plus a voucher for them to spend?
