Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

I've managed to use £250 of double up vouchers today and still have £100. I don't shop at Sainsbury's much but use a Nectar credit card for everything so I get loads.

Got a wok, Christmas jumper and tights for DD, hats and scarves, a couple of trad games as gifts, a full set of porcelain crockery and a few extra mugs, Forza XBox game and other Christmassy stuff. Well worth doing.

Also got Rioja and Malbec - the latter is among the best I've ever tasted (celebrating a new job).

can someon explain double up please? I have a nectar card - no idea how much is on it and I suspect not much, but what should I be doing?

Register your nectar card online and you’ll see how many points you have. Go to customer services instore at Sainsbury’s and they’ll give you vouchers for double to value of points to spend in certain depts ie alcohol, toys, clothing etc.

dementedma, I think you can still get double up vouchers. Just get them in Sainsbury's, double the value of your points, then your pick from Tu, Christmas stuff, home etc (just not food). I promise I don't work for them

Which Malbec did you get? There were 2 or 3 Morador Malbecs & I'm guessing the reservation expensive one is the best?

I had a list of TTD wines to get & got chatting to another couple in the wine aisle who'd also been researching & swapped recommendations! I've got a stinking cold atm so can't try any of the new wines yet to see if I should buy more!

I got my aunt a lovely Disney colouring book for Christmas. I've not done an adult colouring book before. What is best to colour it with? Just pencils or pens? If so any recommendations for brands?

Bonus points if it's under £5!

The double up nectar points offer used to be really confusing as you could only have up to £40/vouchers for each area and then you’d think you had everything balanced but discover at the till that the Santa socks you picked up in the clothes section counted as seasonal gift not clothes so your voucher didn’t work as you hadn’t used enough of it yadda yadda yadda so there were big queues at the service desks and it could be a pain to do so pleased to see it looks simpler this year...

However last year you could change and use your limit for each section every day if you wanted - no good if you wanted to buy something big like a tablet but great for buying lots of booze!

Don’t know if that will work again this year or if they will monitor total number of points exchanged...

Oh sorry it's the Fairtrade one reduced to £7.50. There's probably an irony in that.

Ah, thanks - I did get a couple of bottles of the fair trade one but may get more tomorrow as I bought the expensive one too!
