Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link and the and then last word and the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me k ow if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

Oh it hadn't even occurred to me you could expand the storage. Brilliant, cheap one it is! Now just have to hope for some good deals on Black Friday.

Glad to know I'm not the only one that feels that way. I opened up my spreadsheet last night and couldn't believe how little we seem to have sorted. That's just kids too, I haven't bought for anyone else yet. :(

thaegumathteth · 07/11/2018 12:28

Please can someone talk to me as if I’m an alien because I am a total technophobe. Both my kids have iPhones (dd’s has no sim it’s just for games etc). I’ve bought them each a Bluetooth speaker for Xmas but now I’m wondering if an echo dot? Or similar would’ve been better?? Would I need to subscribe to something for music? What would be the difference between using phones and BT speaker and using the echo dot?

Can anyone help?

Gorgeous stocking fillers in Flying Tiger today! I got some lovely sparkly notebooks for a pound, could have spent a fortune!

Thank you Lovelylovelysleep

Christmascookiesmmmm · 07/11/2018 13:22

I was looking at some of the La Redoute stuff and in the reviews pretty much every review says that the item was bought in the sale, so I’m wondering if they inflate prices when that deal is on? Still seems good though.. does anyone know how long it’s on for?

Lovelylovelysleep · 07/11/2018 13:22

You're welcome Grin

buckeejit · 07/11/2018 13:28

@thaegumathteth - speaker will be good for better sound but echo dot much more fun without good sound! If you have a Spotify account you can link it to dot. I have multiple dots but also a Bluetooth speaker for better sound

MouseRatFan · 07/11/2018 13:36

La Redoute is good for branded items. I bought dh new Nike trainers and a super dry coat last year.

MaryDollNesbitt · 07/11/2018 13:49

May have already been mentioned, but B&M Bargains are selling magic 8 balls for £2.99. I spent far longer playing with one in store than I should have before getting it Blush They’re also doing the pin art things for £4.99 - DD’s a massive fidget when at her desk so I’m constantly on the look out for things that will keep her hands active!

Peacocks are selling their beautifully soft pyjama sets for kids again - I snapped up these gorgeous tartan ones. They were only £8. I bought some of these for DD last year as I refused to pay the nutty prices Boden wanted for Christmas pjs, and they wash *brilliantly. Still just as soft as when I first got them!

Not a bargain but I simply couldn’t resist - the caution board. Peacocks for £5. Fab wee stocking filler for my moody pre-teen!

@thaegumathteth we almost bought an anchor wireless speaker for our daughters Christmas but have opted for the echo dot instead,

Like your our DD has an old iPhone without sim but can use on wifi with all her apps face time etc however we do limit how often she is on it, she also very rarely makes a week without it being taken off her for something behaviour related.

Because the echo dot is voice related she doesn’t need to rely on her phone to use it and for us this was a good idea...

It’s also great for audible books/stories at night time, which I’m not sure you would be able to do with a phone.

thaegumathteth · 07/11/2018 14:01

Thanks - ds only really uses her phone once in a blue moon apart from to listen to waves at bedtime. Audiobooks would be good so may need to look into that.

I have a code for £5 off a £25 spend at Argos, valid for all of November and can be spent on anything.

It's a single use one, so PM me if you can make use of it.

ToastyFingers · 07/11/2018 15:01

voucher is gone :)

Elphaba17 · 07/11/2018 15:16

Does anyone else have an Argos voucher they won't use please?

Carrie76 · 07/11/2018 15:25

My kids like listening to audio books, we’ve quite a few discs. I’m looking to get them a CD player for their room that I can also connect a phone/usb too to play other downloaded ones on.
Anyone know if such a thing exists?

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 07/11/2018 15:50

Afternoon all, dd is requesting her own GHD’s that she can take back to uni for Xmas. Can anyone think of a way of getting a discount? I have unidays but can’t think who might sell them that would be on there.

dementedma · 07/11/2018 15:56

the Book People have the RHS Gardening through the
year book, which is a month by month guide with To Do lists etc. Reduced from £20.00 to £7.99. Good value for a nice hardback which will keep DB and SiL happy

WinePosted · 07/11/2018 15:57

This may already have been mentioned but Tesco have 20% off £25 vouchers for newlook, h and m, footlocker and gap. Useful as gifts but also if you’re planning on buying something from there, 20% discount
