Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link and the and then last word and the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me k ow if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

@Laska5772
here is magnetic tiles, have a scroll through the page, lots of sets. Cheap but good reviews.

here is “fake geomag stuff” but again very good reviews

whoknows1230 · 04/11/2018 20:29

Smiggle has buy one get one at 50% off on bags, lunchboxes and drinks bottles until midnight tonight. I was wondering about holding out for Black Friday but it looks like last year they offered 30% off most products so not much difference.

They're sneaky though - I added two rucksacks and two bottles to my basket and they knocked 50% off the two bottles, not one bottle and one rucksack. I deleted the bottles!

Does anyone know if/when Smyths will do another voucher before Xmas? My DD found the catalogue this afternoon and has added several things to her Xmas list!

Laska5772 · 04/11/2018 20:31

Titty thanks I just sucessfully bid on some of the regular Geomag (I80 pcs ) on ebay auction for £22 so hopefully that will be a good start .. DGS wont mind it being 2nd hand .. we've got him a a new scooter as well!

whoknows1230 · 04/11/2018 20:33

@IceLemonGin, I bought these from Amazon. You probably don't want 12 but they're £2.76 (inc delivery) so work out quite bargainous. They arrived quickly and seem to be well made.

Another one here who got fibre optic Christmas trees instead of what I’d ordered. Complained and they refunded them both and the sand timer I’d ordered at the same time and said to keep them! So win win as I’ll pop them in their stockings anyway!

IHeartKingThistle · 04/11/2018 20:48

Laska I think it's very healthy for kids to have second hand sometimes - we do it a lot!

Laska5772 · 04/11/2018 20:58

So do we! ...DS often had 2nd hand.. in fact most of the lego we still have for DGS to play with when he comes around was DS's !

Gentlygently · 04/11/2018 21:06

Thank you friskybivalves that was what I was looking for.

Can anyone recommend a light box thing for putting paper on to trace through? There are several on amazon but I don’t know how to sort the good ones from the rubbish ones.

ShoppingBasket · 04/11/2018 21:13

I bought a lego ninjago set from aliexpress to see what the quality was like. Really impressed with it... I can't see any difference other than no box. Half the price than shops here.

Jellycat - The Entertainer had a large stand of TY Flippables priced at £10 each, they were separate to the usual beanie boos.

hmslfc · 04/11/2018 21:56

Methenyouplus4 I'm not entirely sure, despite searching the web I couldn't find any images of the inside at all! It does hint at top trump style layouts so I'm hoping for full colour pages & lots of photos rather than pages of text. Happy to send you some pics once it arrives....

I was thinking the same thing elpha!

Haha great minds reastie!

For whoever was looking a good deal on HP lego I got mine from Amazon with the free lego creative box for spending over £50 on lego. I also got the amazon family free lego duplo set for spending £25 too.

Betsy86 · 04/11/2018 22:08

gentlygently not sure if this would meet your requirements but seems pretty good at half price.x

Our nearest Debenhams has 20-30% off all their toys (they stock ELC as well) and good reductions on kidswear.

Ewock · 04/11/2018 22:31

Tittyboneghoul amazing bargains! I picked up a few off yours there. How do you find all these things?

woodwaj · 04/11/2018 22:56

Can anyone tell me about Thomas trackmasters? The sets look good but they seem like you just watch the trains go round rather than actually move them yourself?

weelis02 · 04/11/2018 23:00

@woodwaj my son had quite a few of them a few years ago. They pretty much just go round themselves. When you push them yourself all you heard was clicking noises. Always sounded like they were gonna break but they were fine.

weelis02 · 04/11/2018 23:02

We also had a few sets that no matter how you built them the train still ended up flying off the track instead of going right round so worth reading reviews first Smile

NeitherNowtNorSummat01 · 04/11/2018 23:21

@woodwaj stay clear of track master. It’s tricky to build, the trains fall off constantly and it’s really expensive for what it is. My kids have a few sets, we build it (usually takes a grown up to help) which takes ages, we watch the trains for about 5 minutes then get bored.
The old version (available of eBay) you can push round and the sets are more robust but the new version you can’t.
Don’t do it! Save you money

Wellfuckmeinbothears · 04/11/2018 23:31

Everything crossed hoping for a woolovers deal!

Free delivery code is no longer working for build a bear,

margaritasbythesea · 05/11/2018 07:08

Tittyboneghoul - thanks for the amazon links. Great stuuf!

JellycatElfie · 05/11/2018 07:11

On the flip side my little boy loves track master. It does need an adult to build the track, but he enjoys watching the trains go around and ours have never come off. They are pricey though so I’d recommend price watching on amazon or getting them on offer. The £16 trains were half price during the sainsburys toy sale.
