Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link and the and then last word and the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me k ow if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

I missed the Aldi one too, so glad to hear Asda is a good alternative! I vaguely remember Aldi having another toy sale closer to Christmas last year, does anyone know if I'm right?

fraggle84 · 27/10/2018 08:21

Aldi should have them Instore, I'd ring up and check

Unihorn · 27/10/2018 08:32

My local Aldi sold out on Thursday, as they do every year. I could try the one in the next town to be fair.

nickdrakeslovechild · 27/10/2018 08:35

@ismellsnow my local sore had lots in yesterday so worth checking. We had the Asda one and it was great, got played with constantly and still looked good when we sold it at a good price last year.

NoWordForFluffy · 27/10/2018 09:04

We bought this Melissa and Doug kitchen for DD's second birthday and it's really robust. It's had loads of play and is still in cracking condition 3.5 years' later. Her and DS play with it regularly.

I paid £50 on Black Friday (kept it until June when she turned 2!).

MrsLem · 27/10/2018 09:38

@Unihorn Aldi are having another toy sale on 8th or 11th November (can't remember which day but def that week). The photo showed a child sitting on a ride on car but no other details of what's involved.

1stTimeMama · 27/10/2018 09:59

Lidl have this kitchen to offer, available from 1st November.

Thanks @gaggiagirl

ismellsnow · 27/10/2018 10:31

Thanks for the wooden kitchen info everyone. Have tried my local Aldi with no luck so have ordered the ASDA one instead.

QOD · 27/10/2018 10:46

I just did the cheeky email amazon and say I couldn’t see the £5 credit deal when spending £40 (buying the voucher
) and they’ve credited me £5 👌🏼

SymphonyofShadows · 27/10/2018 11:25

Thanks for the Magpie link.

DieDieFrickenDie · 27/10/2018 12:36

@SockEatingMonster I can recommend the WHSmiths set of 36 watercolour pencils. I think the set was £15 and about £5ish for a watercolour paper pad. My ds got these for his birthday a couple of weeks ago and is really enjoying them. Lovely range of colours and good online reviews too.

lotsofthingstolearn · 27/10/2018 12:58

Long time lurker and first time poster...

QVC have got Supersize Philosophy sets for £42ish (can’t remember exact price) and various other bits at brilliant prices.

£5 off as a new account. Expensive postage but at the price it’s still a great bargain!

ja9r · 27/10/2018 13:50

Anyone got a Boden £10 off still live? I've now decided I'd really really like one... 🤞 If so, would you pm me? Thanks so much...

BeaLola · 27/10/2018 13:53

If you have a M&S sparks card check your email as I had one today to get Advent Calendar early (if you spend £35on gone fashion of beauty ).

InglouriousBasterd · 27/10/2018 13:54

Bonnie and Pearl have a huge sale as they’re replacing with new stock and styles in spring. Dolls are down from 70-80 to 50 and the outfits are massively discounted - they fit any 28 inch doll so American girl and our generation too!! Got DD the doll she wanted and two outfits for less than the doll should have been!

PamelaEwing · 27/10/2018 14:10

Asda 25% off 6 bottles of wine deal is back. Stock up on your festive (or not festive) Prosecco at around £3.75 a bottle!

NoWordForFluffy · 27/10/2018 14:40

I'm getting my fizz for free in the Nectar double up!

Tigger83 · 27/10/2018 14:44

Nowordforfluffy how does that work?!

NoWordForFluffy · 27/10/2018 14:50

Here's the MSE explanation, @Tigger83.

rosablue · 27/10/2018 15:03

@QueefLatifah and others looking for a good but different arty present - Hobbycraft (and other art materials suppliers I am sure!) sell sketch books with black paper instead of white. I usually get a few white or pale colouring pencils (they usually sell them individually so you can choose the ones you want) to go with it - maybe a pure white, a pale cream, a pale blue and a white watercolour pencil as well as opaque white and silver or gold pens. Maybe even a couple of white/pale pastels. Gives lots of options to do different things whilst still essentially being a pad and pens. Plus very few kids, even if into art, already have these and even if they do, more supplies are usually a good thing. And with fireworks night and winter/frost/snowy/Christmas scenes coming up there’s lots of things to draw with it at the moment!

Alternatively the book people have a drawing book that’s all about drawing/doodling in 3 colours (red, black, blue) with biros that I’ve ordered for me but haven’t yet seen. But that with the three biros and a sketch pad would also be a good self contained present. There are other art books that look good on there too.

starlight36 · 27/10/2018 15:16

Thanks BeaLola- I didn't get the email from M&S but logged into my Sparks account and the early access was an option to add to my card. One advent calendar on order (and a jumper and some slippers for my son!) on their way to us!
Very exciting!

SockEatingMonster · 27/10/2018 15:26

Thanks for the recommendation @DieDieFrickenDie Smile

NoWordForFluffy · 27/10/2018 15:53

I haven't got the offer from M&S. Not enough points, maybe? 😢

SymphonyofShadows · 27/10/2018 16:29

Don't worry though, it's out on 7th Nov. My local one didn't sell out last year, they had loads. Not sure why they sell out online so quickly.
