talkingOrmer I added a podcast player skill to my dot through the alexa app. I chose anypod but there are others. I found anypod wasn't really listening to me eventually so instead I've linked my phone to all my dots via Bluetooth. It was really easy and now any podcast/music I play on my phone comes out of the dot.

Has anyone else received their skateboard? I'm a bit disappointed in the quality

Luvabella has been heavily reduced a few times on Amazon in the last couple of months. My sister has been tempted a few times but keeps talking herself out of buying. I don't think there's anything to worry about, it's not unusual to see toys half price.

Oh any suggestions for a 85 yr old male? He’s got dementia but it’s not too advanced at present so he’s pretty with it still...getting his wife scetatas and gardening gloves but he doesn’t do any gardening anymore

@makingmiracles Sainsbury's had loads of their very teenage looking notepads and planners etc reduced yesterday on the end of an aisle. I wouldn't go especially, but worth looking out for if you are there. Reduced to £1.20 each and desk planners to 30p.

Also (non Christmas, but worth keeping an eye out for) they have moved in their Christmas apparently plates and napkins and have moved the old season stock to the end of an aisle where you can get packs of plates and napkins for as little as 20p.

@making miracles I have a mother in law with now very advanced dementia. Such a shame. Some ideas:
Puzzle board and jigsaw puzzle (help with the cognitive)
Large print puzzle book like soduku, word search or crosswords (even quite simple ones)
Slippers
Photobook or photo album of good times gone by - this will be good for when the dementia advances a bit
Make a compilation on CD (or equivalent) of all his old favourite music

@makingmiracles I picked up a lovely strawberry scented pink fluffy notebook with a face on from home and bargain, wasn't expensive, thinking maybe £2.99, they also have fluffy pens etc.
WHS have some lovely ones but I can't justify spending £10 on DD5!!

@makingmiracles the 'picture' edging is really uneven it's kind of wrapped but then the edges aren't finished properly and are ragged/inconsistent. On the top (the sandpaper textured bit) it's got what looks like sawdust all over so I don't know if it's stuck on excess glue or if it will come off when the wrapper is removed. One (I ordered 2) is wonky, so I don't think the wheels are level

@starryeyed ah that’s annoying, was in sainsburys few days ago, looked specifically but there stationary isle was spectacularly bare! Only toy items were on end of aisles. Will take another look in Home bargains, will prob go to a town with a Poundland in half term so will look there too.
