Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of

To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link and the and then last word and the like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.

To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

Referral thread here

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me k ow if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it Thanks

Thank you gaggia that was me asking about body shop parties! That's good to know. I've got loads to buy and actually the online code isn't working for me anyway as it's not valid on Christmas sets.

DanceDanceDance80 · 10/10/2018 11:49

Not exactly bargain hunting but has anyone happened upon some gold or silver glittery wrapping paper on their travels? I know glitter isn’t in vogue at the mo, but my boys ‘santa’ present is always wrapped in special glittery ‘North Pole’ paper and I can’t find any anywhere!!

rosablue · 10/10/2018 13:23

platypus I suspect fewer places are doing it as it's not easy to recyle...

but Paperchase have some (£5/roll but on their 3 for 2)
www.paperchase.com/en_gb/5m-silver-glitter.html

or if you look on amazon and ebay they have some too...

BikeRunSki · 10/10/2018 14:13

platypus Asda had gold recently.

Jammiebammie · 10/10/2018 14:15

Sorry can’t ewmembwr who was asking about the biggie pet from amazon, but I ordered mine on the 27th Sept and it came on the 2nd Oct, hope they get back to you about yours soon, I remember being surprised when it came as it did have a longer delivery period if I recall.

Thanks for the help for Santa’s bag (sorry mn wont let me go back enough pages to check who!) I was able to go to my purchased apps and download it that way, so I spent a little while last night adding my lists and even photos of each item (I have no life clearly)

I’ve also just seen on hot deals that Morrison have some Christmas toys buy one get one free, we don’t have a Morrison’s nearby so I don’t know what kind of toys they have but maybe worth a nip in if you’re close to one.

Asda today had huuuge unicorns £20 and an awesome tree standing about a metre tall maybe bigger for £25. It’s wired and very sturdy! They also had 50cm assorted teddy’s for £5

Spotted playmobil super 4 stuff in homebargains too

NoHufflefucksGivenMugglefucker · 10/10/2018 14:34

It definitely wasn’t a tree...

In Currys yesterday looking at vacuum cleaners with my mum as her old one (at least 15 years old) had broken.

She was looking at a Miele (replacing what she had before) but was tempted by one of their bagless ones until seeing that the one on display was broken and looked a lot less robust than her old hoover. At this point the lady serving her had to go and a different chap took over. He told her about a Miele hoover he'd sold yesterday that was half price when they got it to the till - it wasn't on display as a model nor was the price listed. We had a look and there was one last one left - £124 instead of £250 so we said thank you very much, didn't bother with the extended warranty and went home £125 richer than expected.

So - if anyone is looking for a hoover or things from Currys - worth asking the assistant if there are any end of line items on the shelf as apparently it happens a fair bit at the moment as they're getting rid of old stock models and replacing with new ready for christmas...

Also - again not so christmassy but bargain hunting - anybody seen any good reusable hoover bags? Mum had a reusable one for her old Miele that you just unzipped and emptied - much cheaper than buying expensive bags but haven't seen any for sale for a while.

Borris · 10/10/2018 14:44

Has anyone got any suggestions for baskets and cellophane for hampers. I kind of what to spend most of the budget on the contents and not the packaging

EverybodyKeepCool · 10/10/2018 15:27

Home Bargains do hamper kits with straw, cellphone and tags for a couple of quid.
Also seen in HB today - Finding Nemo & Ninja Turtles busy books for £2.99. They had Lego and MLP sticker books for 79p which would make a nice stocking filler or a birthday present to put with a small Lego kit.
Tesco in Long Eaton had quite a few of the Lego £20 bumper packs.

Spam88 · 10/10/2018 15:40

Borris if you need a lot your best bet is to buy a big roll from Amazon or eBay. Mine has been going a few years now!

Picked up a few little gifts in M&S Outlet today, all as priced (except the little games which were £2.50) plus on 3 for 2. Also picked up a couple of 'flyaway' type balls in Sainsbury's reduced to £1 - they also had character ones, definitely Paw Patrol but didn't check what else.

Thank you so much to whoever it was who told me to call around for the monkey! After lots of phone calls, a very kind man in Coventry Asda put it to one side for me. Hooray!Grin

Spam88 · 10/10/2018 16:44

The loccitane code seems to stack with ANDEL for free delivery as well. There's also 3 for £28 on the gift baubles so you could get 4 little gifts for £28 👍 now please go buy them all before my resolve weakens, I don't even know who I'd give them to 🙈
