Sorry not Christmas related but if anyone sees any bargain disposable paper cup/ plates party stuff on their travels please let me know. We're having a party soon and it gets expensive catering for 30

Catanddogmake6 · 07/09/2018 09:00

Not a cheap bargain by any stretch but if you spend £150 on Beauty at Liberty you get a bag full of things like Diptyque candles, Aesop cream etc apparently worth £370. With makeup I’d run out of and a couple of Christmas presents I got to the amount - which really is a saving as now I don’t feel the need to buy a beauty advent calendar

Catanddogmake6 · 07/09/2018 09:02

Forgot to say you have to register for the Liberty loyalty card to get it. Apparently you also get a £5 voucher for spending £150 when they come out quarterly.

Hotchocolate86 · 07/09/2018 09:45

My Rex London order has arrived this morning and I’m so pleased with it. I’d definitely recommend their site. I got some fairy lights for £1.95 and they are lovely.

margaritasbythesea · 07/09/2018 09:50

For slime fans, I just found the Karina García books in poundland. They're a slim version with a staple not a spine but the spine version is £3 in The Works.

HoneyDragon · 07/09/2018 10:37

Those with Groupon check your emails. There is a invite only email gone out to get a £10 evoucher for instore use for £5.

Basically a free fiver to spend in Tesco. Any savings help Smile

weloveafarmday · 07/09/2018 11:16

Popped into Wilko this morning and they had lots of frozen top trumps reduced to 50p, nice little stocking filler if you have a fan.

Staff were also clearing the shelves around the usual toy/xmas gift sets aisles - have barely had any toys in for weeks so fingers crossed they're about to put out a whole aisle of new things!

Gooseysgirl · 07/09/2018 11:31

Sorry if this has already been mentioned but I accidentally discovered that Amazon have 2 for £7 on some paperbacks. I ordered 'The Day the Crayons Quit' and the sequel and when I went to checkout discovered both were on the promotion.

itsonlysubterfuge · 07/09/2018 12:22

Forgot to mention that I got my Polly Pocket delivered the other day. It was the Wintery/snow one. So definately before Christmas.

bananasandwicheseveryday · 07/09/2018 12:39

Thank you all so my h for the ideas - I'm going to have a good look at them all when I get home from work.
I've made stockings for everyone in the family over the years, and when I've made them for children I've always made two, for the very reason suggested. This time, I'm also making a small one for Santa to leave at both sets of grandparents (don't worry, this was actually a request from DIL), so I'll have my work cut out during half term.

Kraggle · 07/09/2018 12:41

After a couple of disasters with handmade stockings that I’ve ordered in the last few years, just been into Matalan and saw their Initial Stockings for £8. They’re a really good size, thick and squashy and lined, with the bonus of having initials on so my dds know which is theirs. I got them one each as they were so nice I didn’t want to not be able to get them later! I thought £8 was a bargain for how good they look and for how much I’ve spent on handmade ones so far.

Kraggle · 07/09/2018 12:45

Also not a bargain really but I’m coveting them for my youngest, Matalan had Hey Duggee pyjamas for £12. They were so cute!

On the subject of stockings, and apologies to Kraggle as those are very nice, I also found these on amazon for 5.95 which get great reviews. I haven´t ordered yet as I would sort of prefer the colours reversed ut they also have other designs if you click through to their store. Am thinking about cute reindeer but they are deerer (sorry....)

GirlWithTheYellowHat · 07/09/2018 14:57

So I finally find myself looking to replace an ancient tablet and iPad. I think the kids fire tablet would be good replacement, what's considered a good price?

spub · 07/09/2018 15:21

@Gruffalostick - you'll get decent enough paper cups, plates etc in poundshops. Poundland have some nice tropical themed stuff in with their garden wares section just now. 25 paper cups for - you guessed it...! Smile

Jarline · 07/09/2018 16:36

Hi ladies!

Thanks to whoever posted the tepee, I have one on the way.....and hopefully collecting the Playmobil Fire Engine for my nephew tonight.

has anyone seen a ringmaster costume? Was hoping to find one with Halloween coming up, but the cheapest I can find is £64! Hes 5 but prob need 7-8 as he is really tall!

Pressuredrip · 07/09/2018 17:01

One of the Bloopies dolls is only £7.99 on Amazon at the moment. Sorry to not be more specific/lack of link. It's the blonde boy one.

thewayoftheplatypus · 07/09/2018 17:28

Just got a stack of Horrid Henry books for my horrid Henry mad son’s stocking from Poundland- they had tons of titles to choose from (been following the thread but this is my first contribution!

We have the kindle fires for kids and can't recommend them enough. £89 for the hd8 kids is a great price, comes with the cover and a 2 year warranty

I'd say to wait for Black Friday as they'll be the same price and you won't lose 2 months on the warranty

GruffaloStick · 07/09/2018 17:45

Ooh thanks Spub i hadn't even thought of pound shops Confused cheapest I could find at the supermarket was £1.50 for 8 which gets pricey for a large group

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 07/09/2018 18:33

girlwithyellowhat we have the regular Amazon kindle fire tablets they are fantastic. We paid £34.99 on black Friday for them. They are the same as the kids one except you don't have the no quibble 2 year warranty, year of Amazon kids and case. You can get very reasonable cases on Amazon or eBay. Dd1 has had hers 3 years in November and dd2 has had hers just over a year, both have been dropped, used loads and still going strong. Well worth the money :)

JurassicGirl · 07/09/2018 18:40

I picked up a 'Stretch' T-Rex at B&M today for £6.99 & a multi tool pen for £1 at the Poundshop. The pen is a spirit level, ruler, screwdriver & pen :) good stocking filler for older teens.

JurassicGirl · 07/09/2018 18:44

Oops forgot photo!

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 07/09/2018 18:46

Oh and the £5 sloth from earlier comments is a lovely present much bigger than I thought and soooo soft. I'm very impressed with it. I've added a picture, the wine bottle shows size :)

And Claire's have buy 3 get 3 free again. Lots of shimmer and shine, pusheen, jojo siwa in the sale. I got all the stuff in the 2nd picture for £30. Considering the pencil cases are usually £12 and the watch £14. I am very happy.

Primark are getting winter bits in, some lovely stuff. I got these hot water bottle covers. The sloth and alien £6 and toy story alien £8. there was also Hedwig, Winnie the pooh and a unicorn. The Aladdin lamp teapot was reduced to £5. And some other various Disney and star wars bits were reduced.

Oh and Poundland have white chocolate malteaser type chocolates!!!
