I still haven't received my magazine subscription gin - has anyone else? I can't remember who it was to contact too, does anyone know the email address? Ta

M&S had a small amount of Christmas cards and wrap in this morning - just in the normal card area, not a dedicated Christmas section although it was being discussed by staff! I didn't go upstairs to where the Christmas gift/decoration section usually is so not sure if anything is out up there.

H&M currently have 20% off kidsware if you’re a member of their (free to join) club. I’ve ordered some character things for DS1’s stocking (Santa here is brings clothing that Mummy might not quite run too) and some plainer tshirts as he needs some now. Click button wasn’t working so lovely live chat person sent me a one-time code instead.

imsorryiasked · 05/09/2018 12:58

No particular bargains but just a reminder that HEMA have some lovely things. Free delivery over £20 and current promotion has 15% of if you spend £35/20% off £50.
I'm covering this flannel toddler duvet cover

Thatsnotmybookworm · 05/09/2018 15:16

Thanks "@crikey". What colours would your recommend from Fjallraven?

confuddeledconfuddel · 05/09/2018 16:03

Does anyone have any suggestions for toy money that would be suitable for a 2 year old?

WreckTangled · 05/09/2018 16:25

@confuddeledconfuddel Le Toy Van do wooden play money that's bigger than the plastic ones. Pricier though.

Singingitoverandoverandover · 05/09/2018 16:26

Singing thanks for HP reductions info, might head there tomorrow. Was it just HP bags reduced or other HP stuff too?

Singingitoverandoverandover · 05/09/2018 17:48

There was purses and bags, badges and I’m not sure what else. Not a huge amount more. It wasn’t the home type stuff . But the bag is cool 😂

WreckTangled · 05/09/2018 17:52

Tinc advent calendar and my the works order arrived today Grin so exciting. 🎄

Rockhopper81 · 05/09/2018 17:54

confuddeledconfuddel Could you just put some actual 1p and 2p coins in a purse for the toddler? Play money can actually cost more than the real money value it represents! I’m guessing at 2 that it’s to play at shopping, so only pennies and tuppences would be needed really. A little purse or pouch for the coins (only need a few of each - maybe 10? - so 30p total) and it’s a great play experience for not a lot of outlay.

confuddeledconfuddel · 05/09/2018 19:20

Thanks @Rockhopper81 and @WreckTangled.

Unfortunately I can't use 1p's as she isn't 2 until Nov and EVERYTHING is still going in the mouth. She just loves purses, zipping them open and closed and taking everything in and out of them. Most play money seems the same size as well though. So maybe washed 2ps and 50ps night work as they are quite big.

imsorryiasked · 05/09/2018 19:23

Tesco have a new Harry Potter design reusable shopping bag for £1 - might be a useful "gift bag" (only has Tesco written on the underneath)

Drumknott · 05/09/2018 19:35

I have a bright blue Fjallraven bag, can see the dirt so a darker colour might be better. The pink ones tend to look a bit bedraggled, maybe not your husband's colour of choice anyway...

needtogiveitablow · 05/09/2018 19:37

I’ve been to the Works today and managed to get 12 books and a few packs of stickers for £11! The stickers are great for stocking fillers but the books are all lovely, they have a 5 for £5 offer on books suitable for all ages as well as a selection of games/craft sets on 2 for £10 including science kits (volcano eruptions/rocket making) or nail art design/jewellery making sets - well worth a look if you’re wanting to bulk out the gifts fairly cheaply!

Jammiebammie · 05/09/2018 19:45

@confuddledconfuddle
My dd has this which I got when she was younger as everything went in her mouth and she still plays with it now at 9 (asd though so younger playing age) you can always get a little purse to go with it, highly recommend, and no choking hazard as most okay money coins start at age 3 for that reason. You can get paper money too cheaply from eBay.

Jammiebammie · 05/09/2018 19:45

Play, not okay

Jammiebammie · 05/09/2018 19:50

Ooh just had an idea for play money - poker chips! here Grin

Jammiebammie · 05/09/2018 19:52

I’ve linked to cake toppers... what’s wrong with me tonight Blush
here
I’m out now lol

Rockhopper81 · 05/09/2018 19:53

@confuddeledconfuddel

If it’s the actual act of opening/closing a zipper and putting in/taking out the coins, what about plastic counters instead? I had a very quick search, and these on eBay are just over 3cm in diameter, so not too tiny, and are £3.12 for 25 (mixed colours - just under £3 for be gold coloured); or there are these from PTS (I’ve ordered teacher ‘stuff’ from there before - think delivery is free over £5?), which are just under 4cm and are £5.70 for 50 in gold (red/blue/yellow/green are cheaper).

Just a thought really! Smile

Rockhopper81 · 05/09/2018 19:54

Jammiebammie - posting at the same time! Smile
