@itoldyouiwasfreaky

Ds turns 11 at Christmas - some cheapish things I've got him.

Golf balls
Under armour
Driving experience
Football cones
Football training ladder
Emoji cushion with changing sequins
Spy dart room trap
Annuals and books
Skins for PS4
Speedy cups
Harry Potter notebooks
Lego tape
Torch keyring
Penknife
Golf glove
Phone case
Water bottle of team
Snitch fidget spinner
UNO
Slippers
Phlat ball

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 23/11/2017 16:52

Thank you Haudyerwheesht DS has been eyeing up a Snitch fidget spinner too!
What are speedy cups?

SymphonyofShadows · 23/11/2017 17:00

I nipped into Boots and got the Soap & Glory half price make-up for me. I got the one last year and I'm still using some of it.

WhyamIBoredathome · 23/11/2017 17:01

Body shop have 40% off most stuff instore, I haven't checked online but I guess it's similar.

ShiftyMcGifty · 23/11/2017 17:02

The Journal Shop has up to 70% off in its clearance section. Also lots of lovely kawaii stuff, etc. if you’re looking for stocking stuffers that aren’t smiggle.

iStore also has reductions on apple stuff

captainjacksparrow · 23/11/2017 17:10

I will never ask for a cookie jar again I promise except the elephant one

FrequentFuss · 23/11/2017 17:19

Has anyone seen any wellies in the sale?

Don't have to be expensive ones it's just 10yo DD needs them for a school trip. Will probably only ever wear then that once so appreciate a discount on them!

AlbusPercival · 23/11/2017 17:23

Try mountain warehouse frequentfuss

DropDeadShred · 23/11/2017 17:30

I really have to know though, what was the conflict about? Someone thought they were tacky and argument ensued? Someone tried to flog their own product and was found out and argument ensued? Someone had a philosophical objection to cookie jars on the basis they encouraged unhealthy eating and argument ensued?

GirlWithTheYellowHat · 23/11/2017 17:46

@PerfumeIsAMessage
Yeah thread baby was 2013 sounds about right

PerfumeIsAMessage · 23/11/2017 17:47

No, a poster wanted to buy a moo-ing cookie jar for a relative iirc, who had, incidentally, had a hard time, so she wanted to buy something special that would make him smile. Everyone set to to find an elusive moo-ing cookie jar, and the weirdo got all weird and started humphing about how this was a thread for bargains, not for people doing other people's shopping for them etc etc.

Same poster (hope I'm remembering this right) also got a chin on because people posted bargains they'd found on sites like HUKD. Er, kind of like we all do!

And came back the following year, still humphing, but even more humphy because we'd nominated our leader Reastie for a Christmas Secret Santa gift for organizing these fab threads for us year after year.

it was very surreal and a bit wtf. Xmas Grin

PerfumeIsAMessage · 23/11/2017 17:48

Oh hello yellow! How the hell is thread young whippersnapper now then?

chaosisaladder · 23/11/2017 17:58

I wonder if tomorrow will be even more bargainous or much of the same?

screamativemom · 23/11/2017 18:16

does anyone have a sports direct discount code at all? i know they are doing a gift card deal but i'm not spending £50 x

FrequentFuss · 23/11/2017 18:21

My main problem with the cookie incident was that it highlighted the Mumsnet cliques that I hate.

I generally avoid all that even in RL

Some people thrive on it though ...

FrequentFuss · 23/11/2017 18:23

I'm not even entirely sure it was the same poster. MN never said it was.

Someone who was very involved with it all (why she wanted to be so involved In don't know) declared it was the same poster and thus MN fokelore was made

RJnomore1 · 23/11/2017 18:24

I likes the chat

caffeineanddryshampoo · 23/11/2017 18:27

Anyone know how to get free delivery at Clarins? DEL16 not working for me.

RJnomore1 · 23/11/2017 18:30

What do you want from clarins?

ReluctantCamper · 23/11/2017 18:40

totallyLosingIt , really helpful re gin miniatures - thank you!

Reastie · 23/11/2017 18:44

Oh yes, cookie-jar-gate . I remember it well.

Haudyerwheesht · 23/11/2017 18:45

@screamativemom sports direct seem to be offering £10 off a £50 spend BUT I think it's a retrospective gift voucher which is a bit rubbish

DameJudy · 23/11/2017 18:48

I would love a Lakeland code if a kind bargain hunter doesn't mind sharing one they won't be using!

Everything with sports direct is retrospective it seems, including the £5 click and collect refund.

For wellies check Aldi or Lido middle aisle.

Laska5772 · 23/11/2017 18:49

just back as dont want to fall off the thread..

captainjacksparrow · 23/11/2017 18:57

perfume has it exactly right. Was trying get one for my dp whose sister had just died.

Ensuing argument really was something else tho Shock
