Wenchelda - my DDs (7&10) love wee notecards and notepaper. Our TK Maxx always has a really good selection at a good price. My girls would love a wee set of notepaper/cards and a pretty pen. (And as a parent I would be glad to get a stationery product that wasn't yet another craft set with no purpose 😉)

Letty7 · 14/11/2017 11:24

**Wenchelda if you have prime amazon have a nice doh vinci craft set for £5.40. My 7 and 8 year old nieces love this stuff

Jedbartletforpresident · 14/11/2017 11:25

DillieDoily - thank you! I'll get back to you on PM - haven't got access to the garage at the minute to get the bike out but will get DH onto it. Sorry for the delay!

I can't seem to get the flash20 code to work on Argos. Any suggestions?

AtSea1979 · 14/11/2017 11:29

casablanca I didn't know they had exclusivity. That's good to know. Will keep trawling Toysrus then.

MarriedAroundChristmas · 14/11/2017 11:30

Can I ask what type of things you get for Christmas for yourself?

In my family, I have to come up with ideas for myself, from my grandparents and my DH grandparents too. That total is £90. I also have to come up with ideas for presents for myself from BIL (£40) and also from my in-laws (£50). My parents try and think of things, but they will also need ideas too. Luckily my sister has fun trying to think of things herself for me.

My birthday is the end of November, so all my ideas are given for then (Yankee candle, pjs, a necklace, nice slipper socks, Cath Kidston purse, a pandora charm), and as I'm turning 30(!) I've made an effort to come up with "nice" things (more pricey than I normally would).

I don't want to sound ungrateful, as I know I'm lucky to have so much money spent on me, but I'm struggling to come up with anything other than a passport cover, and a slow cooker. Since having DD and giving up work, I'm very much "do I need this?"

Does anyone else have a similar situation, where they basically have to think of everyone else's presents, and then come up with your own too?

Wenchelda · 14/11/2017 11:35

Thanks for the suggestions - I’d forgotten about The Works... I will pop in there today and if not then Amazon can be my back up!

Letty7 · 14/11/2017 11:35

Marriedaroundchristmas - i normally ask for vouchers for stores i love like joules, Cath Kidston, amazon, costa or book tokens.

Means i can treat myself throughout the year when i see something rather than pick something just for the sake of it.

caffeineanddryshampoo · 14/11/2017 11:45

@MarriedAroundChristmas Yup I have to write wishlists for the kids and I. Then I have to help the family with what to each other as they are all hopeless (like FIL buying for MIL)

Laska5772 · 14/11/2017 11:50

Hi do Argos deliver by post? And if so how do you select it? I want to get the hotwheels 10 in one as its cheaper there but it doesnt seem to be in stock anywhere at all i have looked! ( have tried several all over the country as have reles in lots of places who couls collect) Is this usual with them?

Laska5772 · 14/11/2017 11:51

They say prople have bought in last 24hrs but from where i wonder !!

feebeemee · 14/11/2017 12:03

@DillieDoily my DS5 got a Nintendo DS last Christmas. He has the Pokémon moon game which he struggles a bit with as there are lots of written prompts within the game and his reading is still developing but he loves Mario Maker and Super Mario Brothers 2 (I think that's what it's called!)

RJnomore1 · 14/11/2017 12:18

Does anyone know if the loccitane candles are available in store?

NoWordForFluffy · 14/11/2017 12:20

@Whyisitsodifficult I've attached a photo which gives the terms. I think you'd be ok referring your DH reading the brief description.

Anyone else want a build a bear voucher? Just send me your address and I will stick one/a few in the post for you - £3 off £15 expires 4th December

People who have already sent address, I will be posting tomorrow (also hoping to get lego cards sorted tonight and posted tomorrow)

Jedbartletforpresident · 14/11/2017 12:27

I think they are RJ - when I looked online it gave me the option to check stock at my local store. I'm planning to go into town tomorrow to get some.

PumpyMcPumpy · 14/11/2017 12:29

Has anyone ever brought from Joom?

RJnomore1 · 14/11/2017 12:30

Fab - didn't realise there was a stock checker. They are in stock! Dds bringing one on her way home from uni on Friday. £4 delivery and it kept adding £3.20 for the mini cracker although it said it was free 🙄

Jenni2legs · 14/11/2017 12:32

I just welled up at the Tesco Xmas ad. I'm beyond lame. Confused

PrettyFlyForATightGuy · 14/11/2017 12:34

Thanks to whoever mentioned the Marble Run low price on Amazon, it was on my list so just bought it. Bargain.

If anyone is struggling for things for Advent Calendars I've just sorted DDs. She loves Lego but she's only 4.5 so not fussed about type/branding so I've just a set of 50 minifigures from Wilko for £10 and will pop one of those in for each day. They're compatible with standard Lego and so would probably be good for those that are young enough not to be too into specific Lego sets.

LikeSilver · 14/11/2017 12:35

Toys R Us have some good Imaginext prices, several of the bigger sets are half price-ish and all are on 3 for 2. I got three for DS's birthday and because without the offers the total would have been over £100 (I got them for
£63) the checkout staff gave me the £10 gift card they are offering on spends over £100. Hopefully I can use this on a unicorn Fingerling if they are ever in Grin

You're welcome - I'm glad it's helped a couple of you :)

LikeSilver · 14/11/2017 12:36

Lego advent calendars - are they ever cheaper if I buy after December 1st? I'd like to get the Star Wars one for DH but he won't care if it's late.

Madonnasmum · 14/11/2017 12:39

@shash1982 have you tried the Lego website or rang them up? They are very helpful.

tentative3 · 14/11/2017 12:47

Married yes, I usually have to come up with ideas for OH and me from my parents and his mum + step dad/dad + step mum. I also usually end up sorting out ideas for my brother to give our parents.

The threads on here about excellent presents for men/women are good, you might find some ideas for yourself on there?
