Igottastartthinkingbee · 14/11/2017 07:47

My latest bargain is lego city fire boat which has been £60 - £65 was £51 on amazon but I found it for £41 with the entertainer yesterday! Happy me!

CarrotVan · 14/11/2017 07:48

I saw a shelf label for a reduced price Fevertree vodka and tonic kit at my local Sainsbury's but they were out of stock. Might be worth a look if you're near a store.

Can anyone help!?
DD has lost a couple of Lego figures & they're going for extortionate amounts on eBay.
Where would I go to replace them without having to buy the whole set again?

ladymelbourne1926 · 14/11/2017 08:05

regularbutpanickingabit · 14/11/2017 08:24

Anyone looking for Nespresso machines and coffee, take a look at their new subscription service. Each one gives you an actual machine for just £1 and ties you in for 12 months only. The credit you earn can then be spent up to 2 years beyond the end of the contract. If you know you want coffee then it is a fantastic deal.

There are 3 levels:

  1. £18/month - gives you a small machine from the Essence Mini range for £1 and then £18 of credit in your account every month, so that you can use that for anything Nespresso... coffee, cups, accessories, cakes etc. A few colours of machine to choose from.
  2. £25/month - similar machines and colours but you also get an aeroccino for that £1 spend on the machine.
  3. £45/month you get the Latissima Touch machine with everything included plus your credit.
Nespresso Subscription page

Hope that helps someone!

THANK YOU to whoever suggested telling DD that elves can’t make good stuff if the original is bad. We had a chat today and a good look at a catalogue...and she is now going to ask for a leopard beanie baby. She has MILLIONS of soft toys....but it’s much more in budget, she will love it and best of all, nothing to break/lose!

Ok, your next challenge is my mum. She loves her grandchildren and travelling and knitting. Has so much personalised jewellery/footprints/fingerprints she rattles when she walks. Every mug in her house has some little face gurning out of it. She gets a photocalender every year from my brother. Doesn’t drink. Is going away for Christmas so something small and portable preferably. Her walls are papered with canvas prints of grandkids, “art work”, etc.

I adore her and I want to spoil her, but the other problem is that she is quite rich so buys everything she needs. I’ll get the kids to make her something but I would love to get her a nice present. Last year I got her a cardigan with a silk back from joules and she loves it, but can’t do the same again. She is v beautiful and looks much younger than she is.

Minster2012 · 14/11/2017 08:44

What about a set of posh “grandma bamboo knitting needles” if you want portable?

Other than that posh I would buy a really nice cashmere something or other or look for something vintage

AutoCat · 14/11/2017 08:51

Galt marble run (basic 30 pieces) is at its lowest ever price on Amazon - £5.49.

Haudyerwheesht · 14/11/2017 08:57

@persisford what about a voucher for a posh afternoon tea? Spa day?

NoWordForFluffy · 14/11/2017 08:58

@freezingwinter, yes multiples of £5 only.

I'm going once DS is in bed tomorrow night! Get it done and dusted.

Ilovecrumpets · 14/11/2017 09:00

igotta thanks for the Lego fire boat heads up! I’ve been following it hoping it would drop - makes it ( just about) affordable at that price!

PersisFord · 14/11/2017 09:02

She has grandma knitting needles and loves them, so it’s a great idea! We have also done lots of spa days and afternoon tea. Her birthday is just before Christmas and we usually have a trip or something for that so I like to give her an actual thing. It’s difficukt because she will be thrilled the most with whatever bit of paper the kids scribble on and give her, she’s very low maintenance....makes it harder!

Cashmere and vintage are good ideas. I’ll keep looking. I wondered about a necklace or something if I can pry the baby footprints off her!

livinginhope87 · 14/11/2017 09:08

All the m&s codes are gone. I am sorry if I haven't responded personally to the other people who have pmed me. Hopefully someone else will have them.

RJnomore1 · 14/11/2017 09:09

What about a really lovely pen?

Give us a rough budget, it would help!

BeaLola · 14/11/2017 09:19

PersisFord where is she going on her travels ? - could you get something appropriate/luxury for that eg lovely warm boots or smart waterproof but gorgeous coat ? A kindle & leather cover, cashmere wrap, decent watch with engraving ?

torthecatlady · 14/11/2017 09:28

If anyone's seen monopoly (original version, bonus points if it comes with the cat figure) for less than £10 because I'm tight, please let me know.

I missed it from Tesco earlier this year as my order was cancelled when it was £5. Angry Now I know it's been £5, I would resent paying much more for it!

I'm also looking for a nice bottle of Rioja. Has anyone got any recommendations please?
