Oh and lots of individual fingerlings and also the see saw double sets in my local Smyth's so definately worth checking in store. Didn't see the sloth or unicorn tho.

christmasunicorn · 19/10/2017 07:48

Not the most bargainous deal but WHSmiths have buy one get one half price on their Christmas gifts. There’s lots of gadget shop bits which would be good for the hard to buy for man

bigarse1 · 19/10/2017 08:01

@friskybivalves Ive messaged you. thanks so much x

MarriedAroundChristmas · 19/10/2017 08:07

@TheImprobableGirl
We got 4 of the big surprise doll 1/2 ball things. Hubby got there at 7:30 this morning. A friend in England will probably buy one as they're struggling to find one, and DH wants to put the others on eBay. Not sure how I feel about all that, but it'll just be bids, not for a ridiculous amount that's for sure. Feel like Del Boy and Rodney.

bigarse1 · 19/10/2017 08:08

@imsorryiasked will look thanks

@sliveryslimyslug yes lots of quiet activities too! we have loads of work books, book, mosaic sticker things and aquabeads which she pretty much gets on with on her own and I buy them as and when I see them on offer. the problem is keeping them away from her twin but working on that. not really got room for a keyboard and cant imagine the problems twin boy would cause with that. if it were only her I would def buy one.
@nocutsnobuttsnococonuts we have a tablet which funnily enough we won. I think I need to buy a memory card for it so I can up the storage and put some harder stuff on for her. oh and work out how to stop her giving feedback to various places!!
@handmademitlove - that looks a good idea and seems small enough for the car etc. I want to put together a bag I can use for hospital/other peoples houses and need things that will keep her challenged and things to calm him down and things to stop the 7 year old feeling left out so that looks a good one

DumbledoresArmy · 19/10/2017 08:09

Anyone seen any of those pooping reindeer or characters that poop out sweets?

stressbucket1 · 19/10/2017 08:31

I got unicorn Fingerlings from toys r us. I clicked onto the stock alert and got them that way. Not sure the eBay ones are genuine so I wanted to get mine straight from toys r us

Haudyerwheesht · 19/10/2017 08:35

@marriedaroundchristmas hmm I'd feel a bit funny about that too tbh. Not really in spirit of Christmas - the bids will go crazy and yes you'll earn some money but still. Meh a lot of people do it I know .....

building2017 · 19/10/2017 08:38

I have two massive boxes of gifts that have arrived in the last few days. Thanks to everyone here for all the top tips. Flowers

But now I have to store them and keep them away from little eyes for the next two months! I didn't think this through.

MarriedAroundChristmas · 19/10/2017 08:42

@Haudyerwheesht Two are going to my friends in England, so that's good. They're not actually going for very much above retail price online, looks like about £70. I love Christmas, so i like the idea of someone being able to buy one who hasn't got access near where they are. That always happens to me due to living in the Channel Islands. No click and collect here Hmm

BubbleFrog · 19/10/2017 08:44

Does anyone know if ELC will do another 3 for 2? Wanted to get some happyland bits and now kicking myself for not nabbing them earlier!

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 19/10/2017 08:44

married as long as you didn't buy the entire shops supply I don't see the big deal. I did it one year with paw patrol pups I bought an extra 2 robo dogs as that's all my argos had and they went crazy on ebay. The profit paid the extra I spent importing the extra ones I couldn't get here from america!!!

My dds haven't asked for lol dolls or fingerings yet but the little monkeys look so cute might have to buy a couple of sneaky fingerings for the stockings :)

TalkingOrmer · 19/10/2017 08:44

Married are they in alliance?

DillieDoily · 19/10/2017 08:47

If anyone has a spare Boden very voucher I would be eternally grateful!

I have a 20% off code for Boden - H6W6 - do you think that’s as good as it gets now the 25% code has expired?

Rockhopper81 · 19/10/2017 09:01

Did I imagine it, or did someone mention somewhere to get baskets for gift hampers a few threads ago? Where was that? Or any suggestions if I've made that up??

Doesn't need to be huge or even festive, just a cheap-ish basket really!

Thanks. Smile

LikeSilver · 19/10/2017 09:08

@Rockhopper81 I get my hamper baskets from Ikea.

WhyamIBoredathome · 19/10/2017 09:12

dumbledore I think I saw a pooping reindeer in Hawkins bazaar

SweetPeaPods · 19/10/2017 09:14

Would I be stupid to consider going to Sainsbury's this morning? Will there be any toys left?!

EverybodyKeepCool · 19/10/2017 09:15

Home bargains have cheap baskets for hampers and they also sell hamper kits with cellophane, shredding and ribbon for a couple of quid. I think B&M do them as well. Jysk and Dunelm are also good for baskets or even charity shops. I picked up an empty wicker picnic hamper for a fiver recently

Carrie76 · 19/10/2017 09:16

I think if you’re putting something on eBay it should be at face value with only costs you incurred added, such as parking. People really struggle to get the right gift for their child, having to pay over the odds makes it very tough.

ClosedAuraOpenMind · 19/10/2017 09:22

FREE1017 gets free p&p on orders over £20 at Smiggle - not super bargainous but a small help.....

MarriedAroundChristmas · 19/10/2017 09:37

@Carrie76 That's my thoughts too. Took me ages to get my DH the retro Nintendo SNES for Christmas.

@TheImprobableGirl Sign up to stock informer as it emails you when it goes in stock somewhere. That's how I got the above, from Amazon France. Cost a little more, but only due to postage costs.

All doll balls being sent to new homes in England and Ireland. Lots of IOUs from my friends now! Feel like Mrs Claus Grin (Not sure DH will be so jolly!).

Changingagain · 19/10/2017 09:54

We had an advert in the post for an independent toy shop in our town. They're saying that you can phone them to reserve toys before stock comes in. There's nothing we need that we're gping to struggle to get but for those of you who are after the big sellers, it might be worth checking if the small shops near you offer a similar service.

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 19/10/2017 09:57

Thanks closed one smiggle backpack and 2 slap bands ordered in their sale for dd1 for £20 :)

DillieDoily · 19/10/2017 09:57

I was at Costco yesterday and got their lovely huge rolls of wrapping paper- I think they are about £8 each but double sided, 36m long, nice and thick paper, extra wide, and last forever!

Also got a Craft Beer Advent calendar for £35.96 (including VAT) which seems like a good deal for 24 beers and a nice glass
