We have a similar game selection to Canteventhink. One called Camel Up is also a big hit here. Anyone have Game of Life junior? Was thinking of getting that, my Dds are 8 & 5.

I'd also like any tips for advent calendars. We had Playmobil last year which they loved - think I got them in November from the Playmobil site where they were doing buy one get one half price so think I paid £30 for two.
But was wondering if Dd1 may be a bit old for them. Has anyone had either Lego Elves or Smiggle one? And when are they likely to be discounted? Thanks

OhHolyFuck · 15/10/2017 08:23

deadpool mug down to only £2

glenthebattleostrich · 15/10/2017 08:26

Ooh thanks for the doll. DD is desperate for some our generation bits. This will add to the pile nicely.

weebarra · 15/10/2017 08:29

Thanks for new thread Reastie!

handmademitlove · 15/10/2017 08:34

bigarse1 maybe look into sensory toys. Depending on what form his spd takes try fidget toys, trampette / gym ball, fluffy blankets. My DD loves all of those things. And Blutak!

LunarGirl · 15/10/2017 08:34

@AllTheWittyNamesAreGone do you have a link for those decorations? I need them! Grin

cookiefiend · 15/10/2017 08:34

10% odd at awesome books with code awesome10

In particular they are cheap for second hand books. Depends who you are buying for. My brother reads a book every couple of days and has a huge wish list. His books are often expensive new, so I could buy 3 or 4 max for my budget, but he prefers a huge pile of 11 or 12 second hand books instead. With that code I got quite a few of his (obscure) wish list for under £2.50 delivered.

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 15/10/2017 08:37

bigarse1 I was also thinking sensory toys. These bath lights on Amazon look lovely:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/SENSORY-BATH-DISCO-LIGHT-WATER/dp/B00QJ5L1IU/ref=sr11_27?ie=UTF8&qid=1508052906&sr=8-27&keywords=Sensory+toys

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 15/10/2017 08:39

big that must be very hard with your son. How about sensory things? Dark den, large light board, bean bag, bubble tower, plasma ball, those cushions with the sequins that change colour each way. Musical instruments, bells or small keyboard. Or does he watch tv? Maybe a portable dvd player and a few films. Amazon Kindle fire tablet - my dd's have them the kids setting is brilliant and we have the kids case which makes it pretty indestructible.

bigarse1 · 15/10/2017 08:41

thank you for the ideas so far - those bath lights look good (is it awful that I'm thinking they would hurt when they bounce off my head though?).
I was thinking going the sensory way but couldn't come up with anything. he has fidget spinners etc, cant afford weighted blanket so going to attempt making one. he has a ball. fluffy blanket sounds a good idea as he is currently dragging 2 duvets everywhere with him! thanks x

Rockchick1984 · 15/10/2017 08:42

Anyone know of a way to get the Dyson hairdryer a bit cheaper? Thought it would have come down in price a bit by now Hmm

TheDrsDocMartens · 15/10/2017 08:44

Checking in!

bigarse1 · 15/10/2017 08:47

nocuts - thanks for the ideas. he doesn't really watch tv or play on a tablet. we have those sequin cushion covers and I'm going to try and convert that to a type of weighted smelly blanket thing. I like the idea of a bubble tower my worry is that he chucks anything and to get one heavy/stable enough for him not to do that with becomes expensive.
just don't want him to sit there xmas morning with nothing. he has a twin with the same problems but she has an amazing concentration span and can read so loves book, craft stuff etc. he wants to do them but cant. thank you

lionsleepstonight · 15/10/2017 08:50

@Rockchick1984 I have searched high and low for a way to get a discount for a Dyson hairdryer. The only way I've come across is if your employee runs a discount benefit scheme where you can get 8% off John Lewis or similar.
Alternatively if you buy via QVC you can pay interest free over 3 months. Not a discount but makes if feel slightly less painful.
Interested to see if anyone has other suggestions.....

Is for the decorations.

imsorryiasked · 15/10/2017 08:51

@bigarse1 how about a food (or beer) subscription for your DH?
And would DS like maybe a new bedding set and room decoration (posters, lights, beanbag)?

TalkingOrmer · 15/10/2017 08:52

BigArse would your DS appreciate a lava lamp? They can be very soothing.

imsorryiasked · 15/10/2017 08:53

Sorry cross posted Blush

outputgap · 15/10/2017 08:54

Bigarse, have you seen the Bilbo thing that everyone was talking about much earlier? I only just looked at it and think it might be great for my autistic child. I am also planning on getting a very fluffy cushion from Ikea, a balance board, a soft rug, and an Infinity Light from Argos. (For underneath a midsleeper bed, which already has some beanbag style cushions from Tiger and a little fibre optic thing from Tiger, which was cheap and she loves.) Really recommend Tiger for random cheap sensory things if you have one to pop into occasionally.

We also have a gorilla gym, which is a swing/ladder/monkey bar set that you can really easily attach to a door frame. It's brilliant, but not cheap, about 120, I think.

bigarse1 · 15/10/2017 08:56

food subscription might be an idea for husband (he doesn't drink). hadn't considered a beanbag - that might work. posters get ripped and we have tons of bedding as the twins can vomit 50 times a night.
sorry if I sound negative. will put bath light and beanbags on my list and look at light tubes to see if there is an affordable but safe way to do that. thanks x

bigarse1 · 15/10/2017 08:58

outputgap - great ideas thanks. would love a gorilla gym but door frames wouldn't hold it as they are rubbish! have considered a Bilbo thing as it looked like something I could take places with us too - do u remember where they were a good price?
have never looked in tiger so will google that.

thanks soooo much

BanoffeePieIsMyFave · 15/10/2017 09:05

Thanks @AllTheWittyNamesAreGone finishes off a couple of gifts nicely- including as tags on my DS's teacher gifts Flowers

outputgap · 15/10/2017 09:11

Tiger has no online sales, alas. They have a wobble board in stock at the moment I think, but it changes all the time. Haven't seen the fibre optic light for a while though.

Bilbo was £12 in pink if he's comfortable with his masculinity! At Toyella.
