Depends if u read in bed? I love my paperwhite but I mostly read in bed and fall asleep with it in my hand 😂😂 but before I did have a regular ereader with a case and clip on light which worked perfectly fine too. DP upgraded it for me as i wanted an actual kindle but I would have been happy with either 😀

Kraggle · 03/10/2017 07:36

No unfortunately not fluffy. It's to replace a necklace he got when he was 16 and had worn ever since that he lost at swimming a few months ago. We've been hoping it would turn up but it hasn't so time to look for a replacement.

JangleJangleJangle · 03/10/2017 07:50

Thanks lostmyrubyslippers!

imsorryiasked · 03/10/2017 07:52

@Kraggle don't know what your budget is but how about this one

EverybodyKeepCool · 03/10/2017 08:01

I have these Matalan codes if anyone still wants them

Ok. Thanks for the info on the paperwhite. I can see how it makes a big difference but I think they are very cheeky for charging so much extra for it (no surprise there though!)

tootsieglitterballs · 03/10/2017 08:37

Paper white is fantastic - I have had so much use out of mine. My sister has the normal kindle though and has equally as much use! For me, being able to read at night if I couldn’t sleep without waking hubby, or when I was feeding baby was important that’s why I went for the paperwhite.

Iwannasnack · 03/10/2017 08:39

I actually prefer the kindle without the light. I find backlit devices like phones and tablets really affect my sleep. I mostly read in bed or on the train and I’ve never missed the light.
On prime day it was only the kindle fires that were reduced. Not the ereaders. I set up a camelcamelcamel a while ago but they haven’t budged in price.

tootsieglitterballs · 03/10/2017 08:44

Are there any other price tracking apps like camelcamelcamel but for tracking other sites or items across multiple sites?

tootsieglitterballs · 03/10/2017 08:44

@Iwannasnack my sister is exactly the same!

Hadiever · 03/10/2017 08:46

A bit tempted by the reduction on these. Does anybody have them and what age would you say they suit best?

@Hadiever I've been looking at something similar (magnatiles) so await what anyone else has to say about them. They look great!

IWishYouWere · 03/10/2017 09:08

Hadiever my nearly 3 year old loves these so I'm going to get some for xmas but I think older kids would like them too.

peachy94 · 03/10/2017 09:11

Margarita I have the basic one and it was fine without the light in the day but couldn't read it in bed because it was too dark and putting the main light on would disturb OH so I suppose it depends when it's going to get used most?

SockEatingMonster · 03/10/2017 09:24

You might find you're ok with the Paperwhite @Iwannasnack as it's an 'illuminated' not backlit screen. Basically, it's side-lit by LEDs around the edge, so the light is not shining through the screen into your eyes, it's just 'washing' over the screen in a way that's more similar to ambient room lighting.

I can't use e-reader apps on tablets, but borrowed my Mum's Paperwhite and it was a completely different effect.

asuwere · 03/10/2017 09:27

hauyerwheesht was looking at 'lalang' as you suggested, some great bits, although this "adorable" thing made me laugh, perfect for my dad's cracker :) slow rising

Anyone stocking up on body shop goodies, I have just got £31.50 worth of goodies for my niece for the total of £13.99 including delivery. Signed up for a £5 voucher on your birthday (arrives in your inbox a day later) then used the "save £15 when you spend £30" code. Not sure if its ended yet, but £25 off when you spend £50 is still on.

Also a little elf tells me the boots staff double discount is lurking around the corner with 10% friends and family vouchers to be had which I plan to use on top of 3 for 2, so if you know anyone who works for boots, make them a cake!

TellMeItsNotTrue · 03/10/2017 10:15

Thankyou to everyone sharing the matalan codes, I've just used the £5 off £25 that EverybodyKeepCool posted. One of the items I wanted had gone out of stock this morning, took me under the £25, while I was looking for something to replace it (worked out cheaper to add something and use voucher than not add something) I got an email saying it was back in stock Smile panic over Wink

Carrie76 · 03/10/2017 10:27

I have the kindle fire and find it brilliant, it's an e-reader and mini tablet in one. I put the blue shade on when I'm reading at night and that stops the bright light

Carrie76 · 03/10/2017 10:29

@Hadiever we don't have that particular set but we have a magnatile set that is used and loved by all in this house (including me!) Kids are 7, 5 & 2

TellMeItsNotTrue · 03/10/2017 10:35

Thankyou SundayLunch that's 4 presents sorted for half the cost and hopefully a bit of cashback too. I posted that I'd done matalan order, saw your post and did a body shop order. I'm now just waiting for the bank to call and tell me off for hammering the credit card Grin about to do a big marks and Spencers order too if anyone can save me a bit of money there?

Fairytoad · 03/10/2017 10:44

Hadiever just ordered them, reviews all look great!

MrsCrimbo74 · 03/10/2017 10:55

Kraggle This sterling silver large cross pendant is £24.99 at H Samuel, only thing is it doesn't specify chain length, but it is under Mens jewellery so I would assume it to be longer.
