Wrapping?!!!!! I was just going to snootily pop in and excitedly share that our second Christmas present for this year has arrived. Clearly I'm lagging behind Grin. Anyway, I will not let my apparently slow start dampen my excitement - I now have a set of Julia Donaldson story CDs, which will either be a gift for DS1 (who will be almost 5), or a joint gift for both boys.

I'm not keen on wrapping. I start of with a beautiful idea in my head of neatly wrapped boxes with tags and bows on and end up with a wrinkled mess. :p

And still no sign of M&S' Christmas food offerings. Sigh!

Wheelycote · 01/08/2017 07:19

Fluffy ShockShock wrapped already!! well done!! I sought of have one present so far lol I need to get my skates on lol

NoWordForFluffy · 01/08/2017 07:25

DD has announced that she wants a Batman CD player (DS has a Spider-Man one in his room which we bought to play The Rabbit Who Went to Sleep, or whatever the hell it's called - it didn't work!). They don't exist. Arghhhh.

Christmas comes zooming along once we are passed the 150 day countdown. You need to get a wriggle on, Wheely!

VivaJen · 01/08/2017 09:13

I just found an article online about the Christmas food previews... "Marks and Spencer are expected to release their festive food in September"

Surely that's when their Christmas food brochure and order form is released? They wouldn't keep us waiting that long - would they? Hmm

FireflyGirl · 01/08/2017 09:33

Well, I'm going to Iceland then, Viva Grin

Could you get Batman transfer stickers and stick them on a grey/blue coloured CD player, Fluffy?

FireflyGirl · 01/08/2017 09:37

M&S have not done Christmas in July either. The other supermarkets, including Aldi and Lidl, are included in this overview. And Waitrose are introducing gingerbread stuffing...

In other news, Selfridges have opened their Christmas shop! Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 01/08/2017 10:12

Well found, Viva But how crap! That's way too long to wait. I have a £75 M&S voucher which I'm saving for my Christmas food, hence being so impatient!

And ace idea, Firefly. Will look into that!

OhOurBilly · 01/08/2017 11:52

I have tried to have conversations about Christmas with my mother, husband amd sister this week and so far all of them have gone 'Billy...It's July" I'm like, well, actually it's nearly August and I want to be sorted by October! Except for the inevitable twitches!

frid · 01/08/2017 12:02

Billy* I like to be done by October too, but this year I'm going on a holiday in the Autumn and everyone has requested that they get a gift from Scandinavia. I can't even ask what they want because they say "don't give me anything at all, if it's not from your holidays"

HairsprayBabe · 01/08/2017 12:41

I would also like to be 99% done before the end of october, don't might picking up one or two last min bits though. I can never avoid the twitch!

FridgeCut · 01/08/2017 13:00

I'm trying the opposite this year, I have amazon lists and camel camel camel set up, but I am going to buy closer to the time otherwise I end up spending more because it is a bargain and spaced out over the year.

SideOrderofSprouts · 02/08/2017 00:16

I've spent a lovely evening reminiscing on Christmas past with a good
Friends

Sounds lovely, Sprouts!

I'm just too excited for Christmas now I've booked the Dunham Massey Christmas experience for DH's birthday (23rd). Poor sod always has his birthday overwhelmed by Christmas, but we are out for dinner, doing Dunham Massey and also going for a few drinks when we get home as well. So it could be worse! We are doing the Santa train the week before, so the kids will be fit to burst by Christmas Eve (DD is already building up to it!).

I bloody love Christmas!

FireflyGirl · 02/08/2017 12:07

Where do you find out what sort of things are going on?

I'd love to book some stuff to do with DS, but I just don't know where to look! He'll be nearly 3 though, and I he would love to do some Christmassy things.

OhOurBilly · 02/08/2017 12:19

I want to take ds to see Father Christmas at Bents garden centre. He'll be 13 months so probably bit young but I want to start off traditions. Plus I love it there, they have huge dressed Christmas tree displays and it's beautiful. I imagine it will be expensive though so will have to convince dh. He's never really celebrated Christmas until he met me but he's had almost five years to getused to it, now we've got ds, well, there's no stopping me!

NoWordForFluffy · 02/08/2017 13:14

Where are you vaguely based, Firefly?

SideOrderofSprouts · 02/08/2017 18:40

Superdrug has started sneaking some
Christmas stuff onto their webpage

I'm in the East Riding, just off the Yorkshire Wolds Way, Fluffy.

I've found a Father Christmas, and you can have breakfast with him, but I don't really know what other types of things we could look to do.

NoWordForFluffy · 03/08/2017 07:06

Morning! Positively autumnal in Glasgow today...I got soaked on the way to the gym at 5.30. Makes me feel even more Christmassy when it's dark when I get up. 😁🎄🎅
