Where I work gave a load of random presents the other year. Some people got one of these! It's apparently rather good. 😁

(I got something crap! We got an Amazon voucher last year! 😂)

SideOrderofSprouts · 28/07/2017 15:52

I can't wait for it to get dark and have a shower tonight 😂😂

Wheelycote · 28/07/2017 16:35

Hairspray that is absolutely amazing. I'm in complete aweShockShockShock of your hampers

ConstantlyCooking · 28/07/2017 22:51

Hairspraybabe- your hampers sound amazing. I hope the recipients appreciate them!

Sprouts: please report back about the shower head - it sounds perfect for DD's stocking.

SideOrderofSprouts · 28/07/2017 22:59

It is absolutly brilliant. I really recommend it. And the stronger your water pressure the better it is!!

Maybe I'll start a new trend this year 😂

Oooh loving the Disco Shower Xmas Grin I could buy one for our household but my DS spends 30 minutes in the shower (running round trying to catch a drop of water) so I don't want to encorage him at all .

I like the idea of Skittles Vodka and Artisan Pickles but I don't drink and I only like Branstons Small Chunk (I am common)
Though last year I decanded some into a little Kilner Jar for effect Xmas Grin

FireflyGirl · 29/07/2017 07:08

That definitely counts as a poncification, 70 Grin

I've had some Christmas spice vodka in the cupboard since November, with spices still in. It's either amazing by now, or mouldy... should probably check!

Wheelycote · 29/07/2017 08:32

Morning

Tried to make an advent bag out of the hessian o bought. It's too stiff and rigid :/.
Back to the drawing board - what looks like hessian but is soft / flexible like fabric?????

TheWoollybacksWife · 29/07/2017 10:53

Checking in while I have wifi!

Wheely can you make a bag out of felt or Christmas fabric and just put a square of hessian on the front. You could embroider the number on the hessian.

Wheelycote · 29/07/2017 11:28

That's an idea woollyGrin cheers.

What's going on with your wifi??

OhOurBilly · 29/07/2017 12:10

That is an incredible list hairspray I am in complete awe and am doing a mental "I am not worthy" at your feet! I'd do a literal one but the baby has fallen asleep on me. (I say that like he doesn't do it every day, he'll only nap on a person, he's like a cat, needs something warm under him to digest his brekkie!) I love jet though because am justified in spending an hour or so mooching on the Internet!

My Christmas bibs have arrived, and if anyone has little ones, there are some Christmas mamas and papas pyjamas discounted at 50/55%. I've got ds's Christmas eve pj's and some for his birthday.

Llamacorn · 29/07/2017 18:35

Can I join pretty please?

wheely try burlap, Ive always washed mine before using though to drop it being so stiff and wrinkly, plus I hate the smell! Can be a pain in the arse to do but makes a big difference.

HandbagCrazy · 29/07/2017 18:51

Hi 🎄Sorry, I've sort of dropped off the thread.

I don't have much time at the mo but had to add this picture. I found a Matalan outlet store today in a retail park I rarely go to. It has out of season clothes and a Christmas section Xmas Grin

I may have bought a Christmas sign and a little snowman for my desk in work and have plans to go back without DH!

ConstantlyCooking · 29/07/2017 19:26

Matalan usually have some really nice Christmas stuff - I must research outlets near me. I am ridiculously excited because Dunelm Mill has opened a store close to where I live and I have heard good things about their Christmas things as well.

FridgeCut · 29/07/2017 20:02

Matalan outlet store looks amazing!!

NoWordForFluffy · 29/07/2017 20:51

Our bedding arrived this week and has been washed ready to go into the bed...roll on December!

I really don't heed any more stuff. I'll have to sit on my hands! 😂

Matalan Outlet you say.............................................

There's an M&S outlet at Lakeside (I'm not 100% sure if its still there , not been for a while ) which have Random Things. I might venture there and search out a Matalan Outlet (I was going to buy sheets there last year but missed them)

Yankee Candles on QVC but no Festive ones at the moment

SideOrderofSprouts · 30/07/2017 00:08

Damn you! Was just coming to countdown!!

NoWordForFluffy · 30/07/2017 06:28

Thwarted, Sprouts!

tootsieglitterballs · 30/07/2017 07:24

Matalan stuff is normally lovely - I always await the opening of their Christmas pages of the website with quite a sad amount of excitement!

However, saying that, I've hardly ever bought anything from there. I got put off one year when there was a 20% discount day on with a voucher, and our particular store refused to accept the voucher on a phone , despite the fact the voucher said something along the lines of 'print it off or simply show this voucher on your mobile device' - they claimed they hadn't been trained on how to deal with it so refused. I had a trolley full of xmas stuff, and just left it!

Anyhow, I gave them a shot the following year, made a Pinterest board of everything I intended on buying, got there (as I don't like buying loads online - like to check I actually like it!) and they hardly had anything from the website in!

Following year (last year) I tried again, but didn't get my hopes up. Again, they had hardly any of the good stuff from online in again! I did however manage to buy the most gorgeous brushed cotton winter duvet set in a red tartan print . It's Christmassy enough for me but can be used all winter, and hubby doesn't moan!

This year, I shall again give them another go! I'm looking forward to finally being able to buy a children's Christmas duvet as I didn't manage to find a nice cot bed one last year.

QuimJongUn · 30/07/2017 08:07

I was in Asda last week and noticed they've got their Christmas Yankees Candles in! New stock too, not odds and sods frkmast year. They also had all sizes of Christmas duvet sets reduced to £2-£3 so that's our beds sorted! My Christmas food cupboard now has two boxes of M&S chocolate biscuits and several bottles of champagne, Cava, Bailey's etc. Though it's anyone's guess whether they'll make it to December... 😁 Actually they probably will, I'm being rather saintly atm. Down from a size 24 at Easter to a 16/18 now. I'd like to be a solid size 14 by Christmas (my favourite 'me' size) so that's all the encouragement I need to leave the goodies alone til then!

This thread is warming up so nicely btw. O reckon we'll be in thread 4 by Christmas the way it's going - does that make it the most popular countdown thread(s) we've ever had?!

QuimJongUn · 30/07/2017 08:08

Wow, typos agogo! Blame the solpadeine I've taken for my migraine Grin

tootsieglitterballs · 30/07/2017 08:28

Just been having a catch up on Christmas uk and the supermarket food preview ...

This Camembert with tear and share bread looks delicious! One of these will 100% be getting 'tried and tested' as soon as they come out!

Countdown to Christmas part 2
NoWordForFluffy · 30/07/2017 08:35

Where's that from, Tootsie? Tesco did a nice one the other year.

FireflyGirl · 30/07/2017 09:03

Matalan outlets:
Swindon - Mannington Retail Park
Blythswood - Blythswood Retail Park
Gateshead - Cameron Retail Park
Newport - Stiles Retail Park
Portadown - Magowen West, West Street
Wood Green - Lymington Avenue
Wolverhampton - Howard Street

None closer to me than a 2 hour drive, which would negate any savings Sad

Thanks for mentioning, though, Handbag.
