HUSH have emailed me saying the link shared on mumsnet was a bad link/glitch and the codes should have had a minimum spend..

''The referral programme was simply a way of thanking our customers who shared their love for hush by giving a £10 gift voucher when they spent £30 or more at hush and the broadcasting of this corrupt link on mumsnet has in effect ruined it for everyone.''

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 27/10/2016 12:23

Oh I do wish Hush would sod off now. Like I said before, I'm not affected at all, but I think they're absolute dicks for the way they've behaved over this with their bloody vendetta against mumsnet customers.

perfumedlife · 27/10/2016 12:30

"corrupt" and "abuse"? Hush really like to throw around the accusations for their balls up. I will be naming and shaming them for "theft" at this rate if they don't action my refund.

cookiefiend · 27/10/2016 12:32

Shock at the language used by hush. They aren't the first company to make an error, but it is the first time I have seen a company speak so negatively about its customers. "Corrupt" is just lovely- I got a refund without contacting them at all and I am glad I didnt order anything full price.

Hush seemed to miss the fact that people will order repeatedly from good companies. Even if they had apologisers and issued a correct voucher that would have been fine. They sound like one of those tiny little businesses on trip advisor who rudely respond to criticism. It is almost funny.

confuugled1 · 27/10/2016 12:36

Itoldyou the popaball things look great don't they!

If you search just for gin on lakeland they have some sweet ice cube goldfishes to have fishes swiming around in your drink.

Other places I've also seen ice cubes that look like shark fins so you can re-enact jaws in your glass. Or the slightly more sensible ones that have a slot to put your lemon slice in so you freeze the lemon in the ice cube so it's easy to pop into your drink.

One of the sites had a keyring with somethibg like for my gin buddy engraved on it. But it just look like a fairly basic disc lik you'd get a dog tag engraved which made me think you could just get a local engraver to engrave something on a simple disc (round here it seems to be either the key cutter or shoe repair people that do them or watch or jewellery shops) to make your own engraved disc, then you coukd make it pertinent a d extra meaningful - or funny etc. So get them to do something like 'quick it's gin o'clock' or 'I think it's time for gin' or '69 years young thanks to gin' etc on it to be personal and considerably cheaper than etsy etc!

Lapinlapin · 27/10/2016 12:37

I didn't order from hush either, but it's extraordinary that they seem to have totally missed the point. Whether it was a glitch or bad link or whatever IT WAS THEIR FAULT! Throwing all their toys out the pram and blaming everyone else is a ridiculous way for them to behave. They needed to acknowledge their error and move on. Terrible advertising for their own company! I think they might have missed the fact that mumsnet has quite a large number of users and even more lurkers!

WhatCanBrownBearSee · 27/10/2016 12:39

I've just got back from Aldi. They have their toys in store for today, though I think they only stay there for a few days. Also online but not everything is available. I got a wooden toaster for £10 that looks like it should cost a lot more. Also some furniture for DDs dolls house and some dominoes for domino runs. Also some wooden bricks that look identical to Kapla blocks that I hear raved about so much for £9 rather than £40 for the real thing. Will see if they're any good.

RoastieToastieReastie · 27/10/2016 12:39

That's weird wind. There was nothing in terms and conditions about £30 spend. Sounds like hush are trying to paint themselves in a better light by potentially making stuff up.

Could anyone give me some advice please? Long story but I had an issue where an item wasn't delivered for nearly 3 weeks so the store in question sent me another one via another courier which arrived promptly. Would you know the following day the original one with the useless courier arrived and was left with my neighbour. So I now have two! I've been in contact with the store who have arranged pick up using the same useless delivery company. Originally it should have been collected ten days ago but then the date changed to some time before Monday. That has come and gone and they are now saying it will be collected today. Every time I leave the house I have to lug this huge awkward box outside and leave it taking up the whole of the front door space should they collect when I'm out. It's driving me mad! Does anyone know at what point, if ever, I can email them and say it's been x days and no one has collected it I am now keeping it? It's currently been eleven days. I realise by writing this it will probably now be collected today!

a youtube video with dd last night where barbie and some shopkins help a hatchimal hatch

that sounds so random Grin Im dreading the crap toys stage with DD (she only 2 so everything is manageable at present).

My little brother made me sit through Pokemon the Movie. Twice.

UnicornMadeOfPinkGlitter · 27/10/2016 12:46

Home bargains had g&t candles for 2.99 also prosecco ones. Came in a green glass with a booze bottle style label. I got the prosecco one for my friends birthday.

Really disappointed with the b&m bargains bath and body works style candles. Touted all over the forums as smelling just like them and only £3 instead of £20. I got the marshmallow fireside and it smells of nothing. Shame as in a really pretty glass with a metal lid. Looks just like the real thing.

I've barely started shopping. All mine are older now so no toys really except dd who is 10 and loves American girl dolls. So will sort that when I go to New York in November.

Any bargains on awful Nike and adidas clothing so jd sports or foot asylum? I have a 14 and 19yr old sons to buy for.

AmyMumsnet · 27/10/2016 12:53

spaghetti that's such a lovely idea, I'll keep an eye out for any bargainous PJs that land in our inbox.

Apologies everyone about the hush incident, I know it's frustrated a few of you and we're waiting to hear back from them about it.

In true Christmas Bargain spirit, I've brought along a unicorn offer as a peace offering: a half price unicorn hobby horse (complete with sound effects, of course). The Entertainer's penny sale is still on, and covers lots of games like Monopoly.

Joules have 25% off everything with code ACORN

Waterstones have 25% off a lot of their children's and teens books.

We've just found out that Amazon are selling refurbished tech gadgets like tablets and laptops at a reduced price but with a one-year warranty. Might be good for anyone looking for Kindles and laptops before Christmas.

The House of Fraser big brand event has gone live which means that John Lewis are price matching - hurrah! JL are also running 20% off a lot of toys including Playmobil and a really sweet cash register.

<a class="break-all" href="http://www.awin1.com/cread.php?awinmid=2374&awinaffid=67689&clickref=christmasthread_20off&p=www.office.co.uk/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Office also have 20% off everything until the 30th.

Hope some of that is useful!

If anyone hasn't joined the Amazon Review Club yet, I've just been sent the link to sign up:

Thanks for the tips AmyMumsnet.

delilabell · 27/10/2016 13:10

I don't know if anyone else has a thunderbirds mad child or if this has been mentioned but: argos have got quote a bit at 25% off including Tracy island down from £79.99 to £59.99. Because it's over £50 you'll also get a £5 voucher so really is £55.
They've also got some of the vehicles reduced (thunderbird 5 is £7.49)
Characters are in two for £15 but as they're £7.49 each it's not much of a bargain ;-)

I think with the new series being out it's going to get more expensive /difficult to get so I'm quite chuffed with my bargain!

SpaghettiMeatballs · 27/10/2016 13:17

Thank you elderberry and carrotvan I live in the sticks so no primark near me so I don't shop there often. I'm near one for work next week so sounds like it's worth popping in for what I need?

There is a big B&M in the next town. I didn't know they did pjs. I'll have a look.

Thank you amymumsnet would really like character pjs for children as they all seem to like them so much.

sixp · 27/10/2016 13:27

25% off Landsend kidswear using code KIDSGIFT. Valid until 18 November.

CarrotVan · 27/10/2016 13:34

Spaghetti - sorry it's Home Bargains not B&M that has the £8.99 flannel pjs. Also Frozen flannel pjs for kids for £4.99 and some other character ones.

roastie if not collected today is it something where you could say that if not collected by 5pm tomorrow then you'll donate it to charity? For example, if it's a something that could be a gift then there are loads of gift collections starting for disadvantaged families, those in women's shelters, care leavers (Lemn Sissay's Christmas Dinner project)...

GirlWithTheYellowHat · 27/10/2016 13:34

cookiefiend
Thanks so much for the offer, I've checked again and Hamilton is now showing collect in 4 days also, they must have jut got stock in. We don't really need it but I think they'll like it!!!

gaggiagirl · 27/10/2016 13:35

Who writes the hush emails??? Drunk marmosets????

Wait4nothing · 27/10/2016 13:36

Spaghetti - definitely pop into primark - ladies sets are £6 and they have character sets and other cute ones for kids. Cheapest place for nice pjs!

CarrotVan · 27/10/2016 13:36

Lurking in Home Bargains and B&M are some great reductions on craft sets and toys. I just got a Mega Box of Crafts (HUUUUUUUGE) for a birthday gift for £4.99, reduced from £7.99

AtleastitsnotMonday · 27/10/2016 13:47

Unicornmadeofpinkglitter would it be possible to post a pic of the hb prosecco candle?

NorbertDentressangle · 27/10/2016 13:54

Hush keep digging don't they?!

Talk about alienating potential customers. I never ordered anything and am now never going to. There are much more appreciative businesses out there who will get my custom.

WhirlwindHugs · 27/10/2016 13:56

I buy a lot of pjs from character.com probably not loada of choice for ladies though.
