todayisabeautifulday · 21/10/2016 21:21

verytiredmummy (oh I do feel like that today!!) would you share your experience with Zeek with us if relevant? I for one have never had problems with them but frankly I'm sick of companies behaving badly towards customers so I'd like to know if I need to be vigilant with them too.

verytiredmummy1 · 21/10/2016 21:30

today I'm sick of companies behaving badly too (HUSH ARE YOU READING THIS?!). I forgot my details for zeek. Tried to log in again trying my different passwords. Gave up as couldn't reset it so set up new account to find that my phone number has basically been blacklisted because of my various attempts to log in?! So can never use it for zeek again!

ASpiderInTheBath · 21/10/2016 21:34

Marking place. Thanks reastie for another great thread.
I normally start my Christmas shopping in September but haven't started yet!
Can anyone recommend any books for a six year old please? My dd has outgrown the ones she's got.
My Dh has been eyeing up a Barbour coat from John Lewis that's an eye watering £289! Does anyone have any idea of how to get it cheaper?

Donthate · 21/10/2016 21:35

Thanks for the disneystore tip off I have just ordered 4 different costumes and a lightsaber. Bargain.

Donthate · 21/10/2016 21:36

Last year Barbour had 20% off everything on Black Friday and John Lewis price matched. I ordered one thing from the Barbour website and one from JL. The Barbour website came in a fab box so looked much better as a gift.

plasters and more plasters

SideOrderofChip · 21/10/2016 21:48

The key holders are lovely but just to warn you we had them a few years ago and they are plastic not wood and I think a couple of people had odd height ones

neddle · 21/10/2016 21:48

Rotating star projector on lightning deal now.
We've been using ours for over 3 weeks now and it's helped my 4yo to go to sleep in his own bed every night (still working on staying there all night though!)

Fueledwithfairydustandgin · 21/10/2016 21:54

Cure not cute, bloody autocorrect does what the hell it wants! Huge thank you to queen for the links of London heads up. I've had a bit of a shit birthday so have treated myself to a gorgeous bracelet with some money I was given. Then decided to treat my mum and little sister too because they are both a bit down so want to spoil them this Christmas. Amazing bargain 3 bracelets for £108.
Can't remember who was asking about the book for 2 year old but I read DS Winnie the Pooh and he loves it ( it has pictures though) or I'm buying 2 year old DS these books after good reviews on MN farm Christmas book and farm book

Mipe · 21/10/2016 21:55

Woodwaj if you are still looking, how about some Spicery recipe kits?

Pinkladymel I ordered 3 of the £1.50 colouring books and the matching pencils too! Smile

Theonlyoneiknow · 21/10/2016 21:59

Can I ask what people think about giving those Lost my Name books as a gift for newborn twins? Would rather not get clothes but something they could keep ?

todayisabeautifulday · 21/10/2016 22:03

verytiredmummy thanks for that, good to know!

QOD · 21/10/2016 22:06

Evening all!

Darkswan · 21/10/2016 22:07

Any suggestions for my PIL? Budget about £20, maybe up to £30.

They can afford to buy anything they want really and like nice, good quality things. I never know what to get!

woodwaj · 21/10/2016 22:07

Thanks Mipe I'll take a look!

Chips ive got the individual bird houses and they are ok but bought many moons ago when they were much more expensive :(

The only one i know we were gifted a lost my name book for DS christening and i would recommend. I can send you my referral code if you decide to order but ive had my free book so anyone else feel free to post!

BadgerFace · 21/10/2016 22:11

Theonly I think that's a lovely present idea. I bought the book for my daughter last year when she was nearly 3 but would have been very happy to have received it as a newborn gift!

dancemom · 21/10/2016 22:14

New thread - place marking to catch up later...,

VoldemortsNipple · 21/10/2016 22:18

What is the good housekeeping free gift and is there a link.

Sorry for being a pain and missing the original post.

Lapinlapin · 21/10/2016 22:19

The only I think it's a lovely present idea. Although I do have to say that personally I haven't been as impressed with the Lost my name books as everyone else seems to be. The idea is a brilliant one and the pictures are lovely BUT I don't think the text is all that great. It doesn't really scan in places. Both my dc were bought them by family members as gifts, but when dc2's arrived, a mistake had been made with the letters, so it didn't spell his name! Obviously mistakes happen, but I wasn't particularly impressed with their customer service. There was a lot of to and froing with emails and sending photos etc. They did replace the book in the end, but no real apology. Anyway, probably just me as everyone else on mumsnet seems to love them!

Theonlyoneiknow · 21/10/2016 22:19

Thanks badger and woodwaj I'm sure as new parents of twins they will have been inundated either gifts so just trying to think of something a bit different! It's hard! I've actually bought two books from them before, wonder if I have a code buried somewhere!

Haudyerwheesht · 21/10/2016 22:20

TK word of warning re plasters - I put some in dd's doctors kit one year. She stuck them everywhere and most annoyingly on teddies where they get stuck in fur Angry . Dd is a bit feral though tbf.

Re the key holders - we've had those ones for about 2/3 years and they're still going strong - the birds are also whistles which are handy if you have a dog like mine who disappears into the garden for a pee at midnight and seemingly forgets how to come back....

Haudyerwheesht · 21/10/2016 22:21

Re gifts for 6year old girls - I've got Dd the Mrs Scrooge book from thebookpeople and it's lovely. I've also got her a set of my little fuckin pony books from there - 8 books for I think £7.99?

woodwaj · 21/10/2016 22:25

I just decided to check out the personalised M&Ms.... £40 + for a picture on a few m&ms Shock
