A little bargain for today only - any of you with primary age kids, the Mr Thorn Spellings With Dragons app is free for today only. Just search for it in the App Store.

Seems quite good, particularly for slightly better spellers rather than those just starting out. And good for boys too, it's not all pink and girly.

I think I might be teaching the DC just a bit too much about bargain hunting - ds1 came home the other day very pleased with himself for getting a free present for ds2 from school... I was thinking a pencil or cookie or something of that ilk.

Nope. It was a Gideon bible. 'Well it was a free book mummy - that's got to be a bargain - and when they said you can take more than one to give to family and friends I thought I'd get one for dd2 and that would be a double bargain'... What could I say other than 'that's my boy' Xmas Grin

OhHolyFuck · 09/10/2016 17:16

Does anyone know if you can get more than one free gift red subscription? I need four really....

FireflyGirl · 09/10/2016 17:20

Wandered into Poundland today and they had Christmas themed bath bombs, great for putting in Christmas Eve hampers. The smaller ones all smelled quite similar to me, but for £1 they were very cute.

They have their Christmas crates in now as well, different from last year. That's a pint glass next to it. The lady said they are flying out as soon as they come in - I got the last 2 in store! I plan to use them for mini pamper-hampers for DSIS and DM, but if I can get any more I'm going to paint them and plant flowers in them for the garden. They could be used for any type of gift, really!

Costco had some good offers in today. I bought dd a double pack of mechano type toys for £18. One was a build your own robot and the other a plane. Dd is 5 and will love them and it's two parcels to add to her pile.

PinkBuffalo · 09/10/2016 17:53

I was also in Poundland today. Everything is still only 90p and they had some nice chocolate advent calendars in(including Star Wars and Avengers). A whole variety, including Raymond Briggs Father Christmas as well.

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 09/10/2016 18:06

The where's wookie book is down to £3 on Amazon

confuugled1 · 09/10/2016 18:15

We went to Wilkos today and they had lots of their own version of Lego on half price offer.

Standout bargain was a baseplate set - a massive green baseplate and several others that were smaller all for £6. Ds1 was smitten.

I also went to Costco the other day - they had a fureal Starlily unicorn for £83 including vat - it's currently £96 instead of £129 on Amazon.

confuugled1 · 09/10/2016 18:19

Oh and Wilko had some lovely Christmas gift boxes for £1-£2.50 for people that wanted to make up hamper type gift boxes. The cutest were in the shape of Santa heads, a medium and large size.

stealthsquiggle · 09/10/2016 18:23

Thanks for that Unicorn Hoodie link. Ideal for a Christmas present to follow up Robert, who has been officially sanctioned by DH as a birthday present (this week).

gaggiagirl · 09/10/2016 18:43
