He (she?) is here!! My unicorn just arrived in a rather battered box. It's amazing! So soft and snuggly. Hopefully I've attached pictures of the box and the unicorn in front of my 3 seater sofa, so you can get an idea of the size.

Now to find somewhere to hide it......Hmm

Oooh bleedingheart! I may now be considerably poorer but with lovely pens

Theonlyoneiknow · 20/09/2016 14:16

Thanks !!

BanoffeePieIsMyFave · 20/09/2016 14:16

Actually LOLing at Rupert in the washing machine! Grin
Got these personalised Christmas decorations in pound land earlier- reasonable selection of names but lots of blank ones too that can be personalised with a sharpie- may be good for putting with a teacher gift?

Theonlyoneiknow · 20/09/2016 14:17

Thanks wenchelda

RJnomore1 · 20/09/2016 14:17

It's a 6k so there's a chance

RJnomore1 · 20/09/2016 14:20

Ooh it's in a different box now! Ours was longer and thinner

Sorry I posted before I meant to - there's a chance it might fit in a 9k machine but the head is the biggest abd firmest part and is pretty much stuffed the rest in my machine so it was jam packed so I'm not too convinced. Sorry!

RubyFlint · 20/09/2016 14:22

Wenchelda wow! When did you order yours? I ordered on Saturday eve. Nothing yet here.

bleedingheart · 20/09/2016 14:24

JesusDontWantMeForASunbeam I may have convinced DS that he wants to start a collection of novelty erasers, following my perusal!

CandyMcJingles · 20/09/2016 14:24

I have resisted both cornerstone and the unicorn. I have nerves of steel.

OvO · 20/09/2016 14:26

Jesus, that's a life sized unicorn! Xmas Shock

I want it.

Wenchelda · 20/09/2016 14:30

Ruby I ordered mine on Saturday too.

Actually we have a 9kg washing machine ... I'll see if he fits in there .....

Wenchelda · 20/09/2016 14:34

That'll be a no, then ..... Grin

Xmas Confused
liquidrevolution · 20/09/2016 14:40

Anyone else been trying to get on argos website for nearly 2 hrs? Annoying.

Still elc are doing 3 for 2 on elc branded toys. Can anyone advise if happyland will be fine for my 2.5 year old? Or should I wait and get playmobil next year? She's into pirates so have been looking at the pirate ship Grin

JesusDontWantMeForASunbeam · 20/09/2016 14:47

I may be doing stationery boxes for 4 DCs now Blush

Snooky17 · 20/09/2016 14:48

Elc have 3 for 2 on their toys, don't suppose anyone has a discount code? Takes 8 weeks to set up birthday club apparently.

Tiggles · 20/09/2016 14:53

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual not sure about in store. It doesn't say in the email. But does show the click and collect icon at the bottom, so depending if click and collect is free delivery that might work.

shash1982 · 20/09/2016 14:58

wenchelda Grin Seeing the unicorn poking his head out from the washing machine has made my day!

Was someone searching for all things pug?
There's a tree decoration on the accessorize website, not a bargain but you might be able to find a discount voucher & he is cute!

Sorry can't seem to link at the moment.

Wenchelda · 20/09/2016 15:05

Poor unicorn.... No sooner as I got him out the box, I'm dragging him all round the house comparing him in size to things and measuring if he fits on DD's bed (incidentally she has a normal 3ft single bed and he fits just nicely width ways across the bottom with his legs tucked in) and then the poor thing gets shoved in the washing machine! Now back in his box, taped up and hidden away from prying eyes Grin

CandyMcJingles · 20/09/2016 15:13

Oh wise ones - DD has a two story traditional dolls house in her bedroom which has sylvanian families in it.
But she plays with playmobil downstairs and I'm suspecting as she is now at school, Barbie dolls and such like will feature in our lives soon.
I'll like a house for the lounge which isn't huge but will fit both Playmobil and Barbie, I don't mind what make it range it is but a pp DD point out about Playmobil houses falling apart so maybe a static one.
Do any of you have such a thing? Even some room sets might do it.

BadgerFace · 20/09/2016 15:34

Oh my god I really want a Robert! Him in the washing machine is genius.

I accidentally spent £50 on Happyland today but in my defence the cottage was half price, it's DD2's first Christmas so I decided she needed a Happyland advent calendar (not a bargain...) and it's 3 for 2 on Happyland so got the £22 bus free... I had to put it on my card rather than the joint account as I am not quite ready to admit to DH that I'm shopping for Christmas already!

RoastieToastieReastie · 20/09/2016 15:38

Ok, so there's a Robert the Unicorn sitting at th top of my stairs Blush . He's so soft and cuddly isn't he?! Toys r us gave me a nice big box to take him home in after trying to charge me £2 for a carrier bag so I have something to wrap him in to make it an easy gift to wrap, result! I've taped up the box and written 'Robert' in big writing on it so I know what's in it but DD won't guess it's anything exciting.

Wenchelda that is a great photo! Give his head a squash in the door and he'll fit Wink . RJ I'm enjoying the washing machine shot too. I'm sensing some great fun for the adventures of Robert come Christmas/new year on the thread to see what all the Roberts get uo to!

Grin selfie that made me laugh!

So after seeing it mentioned on here a few times, I've just signed up to wish to have a look.
Some good prices on there but I'm a bit worried about the quality. How have others found stuff from them? I a bit concerned I could end up giving DN chemical burns along with her make up set.

NotSayingImBatman · 20/09/2016 16:03

I'm completely stuck for ideas for DS2 who will be 2.6 at Christmas. DS1 will be a few days off 5 and anything that would be good for a two year old is already in our house and in regular use.

He does love fire engines, I was wondering if the Playmobil one would be any use for him, if I took away the teeny tiny pieces? If so I might have to try and get one in the 3 for 2 at Argos tomorrow...
