idontlikecrusts · 29/12/2006 20:34

When exactly is the 12th day? Do you count the 25th or not?

MariNativityPlay · 29/12/2006 20:34

It is still Christmas! 12 days and all that...when did you ladies put yours up? Ours only went in on the 18th and is still looking good. We'll keep it up until 12th Night - 6th January

kiskidee · 29/12/2006 20:34

brimfull · 29/12/2006 20:37

Took it down yesterday, xmas is done and dusted, roll on the new year!

SPARKLER1clausiscomingtotown · 29/12/2006 20:37

We put ours away today - very early for us but we are going away for New Year and won't be home til Tuesday. Everyone back to work and school Wednesday so things are going to be hectic enough without worrying about all the Christmas decs.
I am missing them though. Went out in car earlier and saw all my neighbours lights still up and they look lovely.

Yes, took it down on the 27th . DH thought I was bonkers.

We bought the tree on the 10th Dec and we didn't soak it etc as advised so it was dropping and drooping by the 22nd. It went to be recycled yesterday. The decs are in a box at the bottom of the stairs waiting to go upstairs

Blackduck · 29/12/2006 20:55

will do it monday......

FredBassett · 29/12/2006 21:00

The puppy pulled ours down on top of him yesterday so we decided to dismantle it, it's now ready to go back in the loft until next year, we still have 'snow' on the windows though

SilverBells · 29/12/2006 21:15

is twelfth night on the 5th january then?

LadyTophamHatt · 29/12/2006 21:27

I would have left it up a bit longer had I not been so vastly PG.
It would have been there until easter if we'd left it up and then the baby arrive.

SPARKLER1clausiscomingtotown · 29/12/2006 21:30

Actually I haven't quite finished taking all my decs down. I still have this to contend with!!

mumeeee · 29/12/2006 23:02

Still Christmas here.DH doesn't go back to work until Wednesday and schools don't start back until monday 8th January round here.. We will take the tree down next weekend. Satuday 6th January is 12th night

Nemoinapeartree · 29/12/2006 23:03

not yet but really felt the urge to today but Ds wasnt sure so we have left it. Also feel slightly miserable that it is the holiday 'season' and I already want it gone..although has been a bad few weeks.

MerryChipmonkAndAHappyNewey · 29/12/2006 23:42

I'm with Marina, ours will be up till the 6th!

Pixel · 30/12/2006 18:10

We usually leave ours until the 6th but thanks to our kitten there's not much left of the tree this year. I think it's going to have to come down soon.

deaconblue · 30/12/2006 18:14

Not yet but am desperate to. I get so excited about putting it up and within a week the clutter annoys me. Have taken down all Christmas cards today but must be really early as Tesco aren't ready to recycle them yet.

Lazylou · 30/12/2006 18:35

Mine usually goes up on my birthday (6th Dec) but this year, it went up quite a bit later than that (about a week before Xmas I think) and I have taken it down today, what with uni work, exam revision, going back to work, washing, ironing etc all by Tuesday, it was better to do it today whilst I had time.

Normally it comes down on the 1st Jan so I'm only a little bit earlier than usual!

kidsx4 · 30/12/2006 20:32

Ours went down boxing day, xmas lights still up in window.

Ready · 30/12/2006 20:40

All signs of Christmas are packed away (tree in the compost bin) on the 31st of December. I don't like to start the new year with the decorations up.
