Report When Christmas Stock Comes In

We had a thread like this last year and I thought it was a good idea.

I don't mean the usual items that you can get all year round but to post when shops get their main christmas stock in.

I've noticed John Lewis has started having a few christmas bits online, but nothing is actually in stock yet.

nothing Christmassy in Costco yet BUT they have Life Sized Red Eyed Skeletons for Hallowe'en so it won't be long Grin

I haven't seen anything new (though there were some sale cake decoration bits in JL in June)

duckbilled · 03/08/2015 19:06

Apparently Selfridges in London have a whole Christmas floor which opened at the end of last week.

IAmSashaFierce · 03/08/2015 22:20

Yes nick the Selfridges Christmas shop is open, but in store only.

Anyone wanting to go, I would recommend waiting until after the summer because and preferably going on a weekday as the tourists are much more manageable.

It doesn't normally go online until September.

RigglinJigglin · 17/08/2015 20:30

If anyone has a country baskets or stax card (both trade type warehouses) they're both filling up with lots of things already.

duckbilled · 18/08/2015 09:14

99p shop had lots of Christmas chocs out yesterday.
I was thinking probably another month of back to school stuff, then a few weeks of Halloween...then it will be everywhere! Grin

I think it is about this time that the Quality Streets etc start to appear in the supermarkets. Ditto mince pies - I have definitely seem them in the co-op in August.

I remember a few years ago I walked into Asda in mid-late August to be astonished to see a giant pile of QS and thought - that's a bit odd for mid summer - it was only a bit later that I realised that it was the very start of the Christmas onslaught.

Of course, what they hope is that people will buy and eat and have to rebuy several times over.

I mostly shop in Aldi these days, which doesn't seem to start quite so early - I am eagerly waiting their florentines, mince pies etc but I might have to pop into the Co-op or a big supermarket, to see if I can spot any early signs of mince pies etc.

SpottyTeacakes · 18/08/2015 16:12

Card factory had a whole section of Christmas bits in store today

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 29/08/2015 18:07

Tesco had the £5 tubs of sweets (Celebrations, Roses,QS,Heroes) by the doorway.

One (IIRC Heroes, purple tub) was a Festive One.

And Christmas things in Card Factory.
