As previously, if you shot a link in the OP links isn’t working/no longer in date, please let me know by posting in bold so I can easily see to update Thanks

If I’ve missed anything good from any last threads onto the list please let me know.

I've been a bit rubbish and not updated from last thread. But things are settling down for Christmas now so I'm working on the basis it's more a share of sales bits coming up/how the presents went down on the big day.

Thanks for posting the pirate ship. That is DS' present for next year sorted. Can't believe the hotel is down to £40...although I'm not sure a 5yo would have appreciated me saying santa was bringing her present next week!

imip · 24/12/2014 09:50

Yes, thanks to all, I've lurked/contributed minimally to these threads - it's been three years, hasn't it?

I've been largely organised for all three Christmases, and my present drawer is always very well stocked also.

Merry christmas!

Nanny25 · 24/12/2014 13:56

Reastie My relative thinks things would go down on boxing day but wouldn't go to really low prices until later. She doesn't know anything for definite tho. As soon as i know anything for certain i will post. Not very helpful sorry!

SisterMoonshine · 24/12/2014 14:02

Merry Christmas everyone and thanks as always to Reastie. I worry if these threads stop and I have to buy `normal' presents people will think I am pissed off with them as the quality of the gift will nosedive Smile
And to get back too it, last year Argos had Lego advent calendars half price on Boxing day I think which was great, I'll try to keep on eye out this year but I have the in laws coming so if anyone sees them for a good price I'd appreciate a shout.
And now for prosecco and Madagascar 3.

cookiefiend · 24/12/2014 17:40

Merry Christmas everyone! Thanks for all your tips especially reastie. I shall miss catching up with the thread each day.

I am a saddo with a spreadsheet in which I put all my gifts, how much they were and how much I have saved compared to the usual selling price. I haven't used the rrp as they are often so inflated (though may sit and work it out later for my own pride.) So for example I have given a cook book and put the usual price in as £10 since you can almost always pick them up for that even in waterstones rather than the £25 rrp.

So I have spent £438 Xmas Shock for a usual selling price of £886. Xmas Smile So about 50% off. I used some Amazon vouchers I got from last years quidco. Thanks to their festive bonus I have earned another £67 of cash back to use next year.

Thanks for all your help. I will let you know the rrp saving if I can be bothered later. I am SO SO pleased. We are in the car now on the way to PIL and it looks like santas sleigh in here- we both have big families so buy for about 25 people. Thanks again!

Large lego sets in stockings was inspired. The kids are quiet enough for me to chill watching Lion, With and the wardrobe.

Funny moment when dd opened little troll keyring and it's hair came off with the wrapping paper. Grin Oops.

They loved the inflatable globes and weird little make up storage box.

Merry Christmas all x

I have bought some lovely clothes for my dc from the BHS sale for next winter at half price. BHS now stock Pumpkin Patch clothes. I wondered where they disappeared to.

Thank You to everyone who contributed to these threads. My family have all had an amazing christmasWine Thanks

RosieBdy · 27/12/2014 06:56

Well they all loved the finger lights! When DH asked where I'd found them I answered, "Christmas bargain thread of course..." To which he replied, "I should have known!" I then explained how you all had them last year and I'd wished I'd bought them, so got them this year... Went on to explain that there was a new version with fibre optic bits this year, and was then asked, "are we always going to be one year behind the rest of Mumsnet?!" Made me laugh!! Xmas Grin

Hope you all had a brilliant Christmas!
