As previously, if you shot a link in the OP links isn’t working/no longer in date, please let me know by posting in bold so I can easily see to update Thanks

If I’ve missed anything good from any last threads onto the list please let me know.

I've been a bit rubbish and not updated from last thread. But things are settling down for Christmas now so I'm working on the basis it's more a share of sales bits coming up/how the presents went down on the big day.

Well I'm all for doing the sales :)

We went to toys r us yesterday as my son and daughter had got £20 voucher each for there.

They had loom band packets for 1p, and a largish box with a board and storage areas for bands for £1.96

Also got myself some reading glasses for 46p. There were sale stickers all over the place, but not actually a huge amount worth of note.

Sainsbury's had some lovely silver tiffin food boxes for £4 in their sale. When they scanned through, they were £2! Glad I picked up 2, one for me and one for someone's present next year Grin

I got a Carousel Wooden Market Stall in Tesco reduced from £60 to £15. I have wanted it for ages but not prepared to spend more than £20. I am very happy Grin and will use it as a Puppet Theatre also. Or at least the kids will Wink

mumofthemonsters808 · 28/12/2014 18:53

MY bargain of the year has to be a dress from Top Shop that I got DD for three pound. It is a size 4 and looks gorgeous on her. She has told me off for telling anyone who will listen how much it was.

wibblyjelly · 28/12/2014 20:14

A reminder for anyone looking to spread the cost of Christmas next year. Now is the time to start putting an amount of money aside each week/month. I do £30 a month, and although it doesn't pay for it all, it does a big chunk, which helps

Elvish · 29/12/2014 09:17

Thanks to everyone for posting their bargains. I have just realised I've not sorted out thank you cards from the kids. Does anyone have a discount code for photo cards? snapfish or similar? Thanks!

nickdrakeslovechild · 29/12/2014 15:38

I wonder where all the sale bargains are? last year it was much busier on here and I picked up loads in January. Only picked up some bits from the works so far.

blindcaptaincat · 29/12/2014 18:44

I got a few things for DD at the Monsoon sale. Also, some wrapping paper for next year from Paperchase (I agree, this thread is very quiet this year compared to last).

So far all I've got is lots of festive wrapping paper, some Christmas cards and lots of biscuits/chocolate which I really don't need ... blind what was the paperchase sale like? I love their cards.

OP posts:
blindcaptaincat · 29/12/2014 20:37

Paperchase was just okay really, nothing spectacular. Although I did manage to spend £25, so it can't have been that bad! Didn't buy any Christmas cards though - just wrapping paper, and a couple of stocking fillers.

temporaryusername · 29/12/2014 23:39

Hello, haven't been able to log in over xmas but just wanted to come on and say thanks for all the suggestions. My bargains went down well, I think!

Haven't had much chance to look at the sales, would like to get some wrap/cards at least if I can. DP did hit the sales on the high street but said they were very underwhelming this year.

I looked at the white company sale too, the discounts aren't high enough yet but hotukdeals has discount codes & free delivery too.

I wouldn't bother with their bedding though.

MsBug · 30/12/2014 08:57

I've so far bought dd some clothes from the asda sale and myself something from debenhams which wasn't even in the sale Xmas Shock but was something I needed and that I didn't get from my Xmas list.

Has anyone seen any nice bedding?

daddykyller · 30/12/2014 09:14

Didn't know until today, but Amazon do their own trade in service for thinks like games, books and consoles?

Just like other places which offer this service, you can get cash for your unwanted or used games etc.
AND...Not only that, but at the moment if you trade in £15 or more you get a bonus £5 gift card. Not bad at all :)

GirlWithTheYellowHat · 30/12/2014 13:21

The tinkerbell 5 disc DVD collection has dropped to £12.99 on amazon. It's been holding at £20+ for a while. Bought it for my daughters birthday in May!

WUME · 30/12/2014 13:49

Thanks for that Tinkerbell tip girlwiththeyellohat. I just bought dd2 her first birthday present ... for November Blush

ZeViteVitchofCwismas · 30/12/2014 14:38

If anyone sees reduced lego can they they let me know

TeWiSavesTheDay · 30/12/2014 14:47

IX - there is a wooden till and scales (and extra fruit) that go with that market stall, reduced to £7 from £30 if you spot them! I'm going to put it away as an Easter gift instead of chocolate (since I reckon the Christmas chocs will still be here!)

I've just bought cards for the kids friends mainly so far. I need to get wrapping paper.

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone for taking part, I think every thing I bought went down well and we had a lovely day.

Mipe · 30/12/2014 14:53

Nothing specific but Dotcomgiftshop, Surfdome and the Book People all have good sales on ??.

Mipe · 30/12/2014 14:56

Oh and our local Co-op has reduced all their gift sets (lots of Baylis & Harding tins) and Christmas stuff to half price Smile
