DangerousDorothy · 04/12/2014 22:40

I bought some battery tea lights in Hobbycraft and they were reduced to £1 for four. They were in the wedding section.

T2710 · 04/12/2014 22:42

Has anyone seen any super cheap remote control cars? Size/type doesn't matter as it a jokey gift from my Granda from my DS. Don't want to spent much as I've already bought his gift, but he was reluctant to hand ds's remote back to him this week after playing with his car Smile

WannaSplitAPineapple · 04/12/2014 22:46

I need to stop reading these threads. Now I neeeed battery tea lights. I love having candles on but DS always wants to look at them so bettery ones would be perfect.

Maplin have a remote control car for a tenner. Sure they had some in store at 7.50 but can't see them online.

purplehebe - could she be fobbed off tempted to experiment with the MUA equivalent which is a mere £4 from Superdrug?

There's a blog post comparison - missbudgetbeauty.co.uk/mua-undressed-v-the-naked-palette/ - which talks through the differences and also shows pictures of them, including a swatch test of each one (the mua version apparently is really very similar in that all naked shades have an undressed equivalent) shown next to each other on the blogger's arm and lots of them are really very similar.

I know MUA is cheap but some of their stuff is great - I discovered it thanks to the christmas bargain threads last year! I've switched from using clinique/estee lauder/no 7/etc for lipsticks to using some of their lip crayons as I find that they last longer and have shades that suit me. I've also got some of their eyeliners which are nice too and despite only costing a pound, have a sharpener incorporated into their lid which is really handy and a nice feature. Extra bonus - if you buy it in superdrug at the moment, if you spend £8 you get another eyeshadow palette called Twelfth Night (I think - something festive like that anyhow!) which also had a good big set of colours for a different look from the naked ones. For £8 you could get her a two eyeshadow palettes, a lip crayon and an eyeliner!

Thanks to trixymalixy, elvish, petallic, howabout for the suggestions on champagne bargains!

MademoiselleG · 04/12/2014 23:06

The Elsa and Anna dresses arrived from Aliexpress today - they are A M A Z I N G and dd is going to be so, so chuffed.
THANK YOU LOVELY PEOPLE Smile

MademoiselleG · 04/12/2014 23:08

Ooooh what champagne deals?

Loobylou3 · 04/12/2014 23:10

I really thought I had finished but am having a twitch about getting dh an ipad. think I have probably missed all the (if any) deals. Sad has anyone seen any deals or codes for money off any Ipads? I'm thinking the ipad air (not mini) 32gb. otherwise will probably go with John Lewis for extended guarantee. thanks Smile

LittleMissSparklyGreenTinsel · 04/12/2014 23:11

If you live in North Wales area the Book People are having a massive warehouse clearance sale at the weekend in Parc Menai, Bangor, LL57 4FB, 10am-4om

snowgirl1 · 04/12/2014 23:16

Madamoiselle - 25% off 6 bottles at Sainsburys; Louis Delauney £5.99 at Morrisons; mysupermarket champagne price drop on around 22nd (hopefully); Lidl - 10% off four bottles (I was looking for 4 bottles).

Pigleychez · 04/12/2014 23:18

Anyone any M and S codes?
Suddenly decided I need would like this throw :)

MrsRudyRudpoo · 04/12/2014 23:27

Madmoiselle, do you mind me asking when you ordered the dresses? Still waiting on mine and getting nervous that they won't arrive before the big day!

yumyumpoppycat · 04/12/2014 23:38

Frozen onesies for under £4 are on hot deals www.hotukdeals.com/deals/disney-frozen-onesie-3-97-frozen-pyjamas-3-47-with-code-free-p-p-over-25-character-2073489

This was very time consuming to order as the website is sloooow. Delivery was free for orders over £25 so I ordered my 3 dc 2 sets of PJs/onesies each. I also got dd a needed backpack from the clearance section - this all added up to £33 as I got more expensive adventure time onesies (£5 & £6) for 9 yo ds.

My tip is to add everything you view and are interested in to your basket then delete items at the end before placing an order as the site is so slow. PJs included in the offer have a mini cartoon character with a santa hat (secret santa) on next to them - not all PJs are included so either follow the link on hot deals or go to www.character.com/ and click on offers in the top menu bar then select secret santa .

I have ordered once before from this website, and at the time I was nervous by how cheap the item was (a spongebob backpack for £4) but it was really good quality and arrived on time!

T2710 · 04/12/2014 23:40

Purplehebe, as a cheaper alternative to naked 1/2/3 you could consider the naked basics palettes. Less shades, still urban decay, still gorgeous, around the £20 mark. They seem to include the more wearable shades.

IHeartKingThistle · 04/12/2014 23:43

I have absolutely no-one to buy the silver throw for. BUT IT'S SO BARGAINOUS!!!

yumyumpoppycat · 04/12/2014 23:49

Rudy I am really annoyed with myself as I had a £12.50 anna coronation dress in my basket from Asda and didn't check it out as tbh my dc have more than enough presents now. Its possible they will come back in stock though or that might have some in store? Sorry if this turns into a wild goose chase...

sweetkitty · 04/12/2014 23:57

Have deliberately stayed away from this thread I am done bar a few stocking fillers and chocolate, I annoy twitch as I have four DC if I twitch for one I have to buy another three presents Hmm

Did buy DD2 a key ring last night that was £6 on a site but £3 on eBay Smile

Notmuchhaschanged · 05/12/2014 00:02

I can vouch for the MUA palettes that are a naked copy, they are fsbulous
