Are we doing Janet & Roy this year? I haven't spotted a thread yet.

I'm happy to send one, I'm from NI so all post has a Belfast post mark.

SlatternGettingPumpkinReady · 26/10/2014 20:20

dobedobedo, if your not already sorted PM me. Smile

NormaStanleyFletcher · 26/10/2014 20:39

Oh yes. Count me in to write one. Oxfordshire or London postmark.

beanandspud · 26/10/2014 21:08

I am more than happy to send a J&R from Yorkshire if you want to PM me the recipients details.

I did one for my parents a few years ago, it was just a couple of lines about recovering from an operation/enjoying the golf club/lovely cruise despite the bunions. My parents spent weeks trying to work out where it came from and we had to confess all on Christmas Eve for fear of ruining their Christmas completely.

98percentchocolate · 28/10/2014 07:24

Ooh I'd love for one to be sent to my mum - it would be hilarious! Any one willing to write to Birmingham please? Postmark can be anywhere.

Mrscaindingle · 29/10/2014 19:33

A lovely poster starfishmummy did one from Coventry for me last year. How I kept a straight face while my mum puzzled over it I don't know Grin
If there is anyone from that area again I would love it although think I may have to come clean this year or my mum will be worrying she has dementia.

Would be happy to return the favour from west of Scotland or Glasgow.

QuintsTombWithAWiew · 29/10/2014 19:35

I can send one from Norway, from somebody exploring northern lights on a Cruise or summat for Christmas. If you have somebody in mind who can benefit from a janet and roy visiting winter wonderland for Christmas, PM me. Grin

squirrelweasel · 29/10/2014 21:19

I would love to send one I'm in Pembrokeshire. Could someone north send one for me?

MrsCosmopilite · 29/10/2014 21:38

I'm beginning to wish that someone would send one to my old neighbours. They were right busybodies, and seemed to think that as they'd lived at that place (block of flats) longest, they should have the last word on anything any other flat owners did.
They also used to speculate a lot about what other people did with their time (intimated that neighbour was swinging/gay because of them having a house guest; intimated that other neighbours were growing/selling drugs...).

I can just imagine them trying to figure out who these people were and why they were telling them all about indigo children, shrubberies and who'd died/divorced/come out.
Unimportant where it's sent from, although somewhere north of London would be good.

I will return the favour for anyone who wishes - Essex postmark.

DaffodilField · 29/10/2014 23:41

Me me me. I'll do it 98 percent chocolate.

RomeoDone · 02/11/2014 17:36

I would love to join in. Can post from bham area :)

Eeeeekyeeek · 02/11/2014 22:03

I'm writing one for my mum now and trying not to spit up wine on my screen Grin

I'm making it very clear that the couple writing know her, but she'll do her own head in trying to work out who they are.

DoYouKnowTheMuffinMan · 02/11/2014 22:13

I'm in! (West mids postmark)

lucysmam · 02/11/2014 22:54

I look longingly at these threads every year but have no-one I could have one sent to without a lot of Hmm faces when I revealed all Sad

AndHarry · 02/11/2014 22:58

Do you have a DP who could benefit lucysmam?

OP posts:
lucysmam · 03/11/2014 09:33

AndHarry, dp would be at the front of the Hmm face queue...but quite possibly yes.

falgelednl · 03/11/2014 10:08

I would love to write one - posted from the Isle of Wight (perhaps a last minute break pre-Christmas?)

Happy to go the Araminta way or operations re piles! Can include lots of pictures and include some personal anecdotes.

Let me know...

I would love to have one sent to my parents but they are away fro Christmas (from Nov-Jan) so will not be receiving their post for 3 months!

ThomasLynn · 03/11/2014 10:25

If anyone wants one sent from Perth WA, do PM me.
I know many dramatic types, many pearl-clutching types and an alarming number of people who "praise Jesus!"

nethunsreject · 03/11/2014 10:29

Oh this is brill!
Would anyone be able to write one for my in laws? They would love it! They can take a good joke. They're UK, happy to receive from anywhere at all UK or otherwise.
Thanks!

Eastwickwitch · 03/11/2014 10:59

How does it work? Does the suggester advise the writer what sort of people the recipients are?
I'd be happy to have a go if anyone wants one from rural Dorset.

purplepingu · 03/11/2014 11:09

I want to join in! I was a lurker last year and I've been waiting all year for a Janet and Roy thread! I'm in Yorkshire if someone further afield wants to swap with me? Send me a PM and I'll send out at the beginning of December!

Muddlewitch · 03/11/2014 11:42

Love this, just missed it last year. I am happy to send one, from Southampton or London.

AndHarry · 03/11/2014 12:11

Eastwick you tell the writer a little bit about the recipient(s) so they can personalize the letter/card e.g. Emma and John, mid-60's, retired teachers, dog called Fluffy, new granddaughter called Olivia, love visiting NT properties.

AMillionNameChangesLater · 03/11/2014 12:13

I'd be happy to write one (Lancashire) and I'd love to nominate a recipient, we could swop? Pm me

AMillionNameChangesLater · 03/11/2014 12:15

I wouldn't ever tell pil it was a joke. They do my head in. So it would make Christmas dinner more bareable.
