Grin scope, I was out from 9-5. I'm shattered but it was worth it! I'm just trying to think of what else I got but my brain's too tired!

Waitingonasunnyday · 11/10/2014 18:55

Congratulations to groovester and bonnie!

Thanks to whoever mentioned the plastic tins of quality street, celebrations etc in asda for £4, I stocked up today. Very handy for nursery, neighbours etc if they don't get eaten by me and DH first!

YaMasYaDaWithAWigOn · 11/10/2014 19:40

Reastie is it too early for the truffle recipe to be posted yet? Only mentioned as I've just made some tonight for a friend and I'm planning on doing it again this year (and probably every other year for the foreseeable future!) as gifts for the DC's ever increasing teachers/TA's.

Reastie · 11/10/2014 19:42

Post ahoy YaMas . My truffle recipe is just melt dark chocolate and add some condensed milk (not that much) which thickens the truffles so you can roll them out. Then roll in icing sugar/cocoa powder/sprinkles etc.

OP posts:
YaMasYaDaWithAWigOn · 11/10/2014 19:48

200g Philadelphia
350g icing sugar
500g dark chocolate (I use the cheap stuff from Aldi or Asda)

Melt the chocolate then add to the Philly and icing sugar. Add flavouring (1 teaspoon for vanilla, 2 for liqueur)
Leave to set for a little while

3bunnies · 11/10/2014 19:52

zipzap kawaii is Japanese for cute so these threads are educational as well as bargainous! Thanks for the links for the seals Oo. Might have to break my no spending until pay day rule!

Congrats on all the new babies.

YaMasYaDaWithAWigOn · 11/10/2014 19:52

Gah pressed post too soon!
Leave to set for a little while.
Roll into balls (this can get a little messy as it starts to melt with the heat from your hands).
To finish decorate in whatever takes your fancy, desiccated coconut, chopped nuts etc. I usually grate chocolate and roll the balls in the powder.

Congratulations to our thread baby Mama's!

MLP BARGAIN... Equestria doll and pony set, Twilight somethingorother and the pony for under £9 delivered, tho I have Prime so not sure what regular delivery is

www.amazon.co.uk/Little-Pony-Equestria-Twilight-Sparkle/dp/B00KDYCCYK/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1413054431&sr=8-6&keywords=equestria+doll+and+pony+set

from what I can tell these sets are usually £20+

this is going to be one of those 'Father Christmas must be real because Mummy & Daddy would never let me have an Equestria Girls doll' moments, I think they are too weird for words but DD is smitten!!

jojo1983 · 11/10/2014 20:19

While in Tesco today they had ready beds on sale for £7! I picked up a Thomas one but they did have some others, great if staying over other peoples houses over the Christmas holiday

YaMasYaDaWithAWigOn · 11/10/2014 20:20

I'd posted it last year under TooWetToWoo and it seemed to go down well so thought I'd share it again. I honestly love it, so easy and tastes amazing! Poundland had these small cellophane bags last year with tie ribbons that were perfect for these.

YaMasYaDaWithAWigOn · 11/10/2014 20:26

That is such a bargain kiwi I'd bought that for DDs birthday for £22. She and I, probably more me lol love the Equestria Girls, I've got her some from Asda in the 2-for-£14 section (thanks to a PP), but the best bargain I've found a while ago was the double set of Twilight Sparkle and Sunset Shimmer for £15 in Argos. I think they've discontinued it now though as I can't find it anymore. DD will be made up as she loves to act out the scenes with Twilight and "naughty Sunset Shimmer". She has the pony version but I know she'd love the human version.

2kidsintow · 11/10/2014 20:33

I know Furbys were big news last year. The 'crystal' ones (with a crystal effect around the eyes) are in the local B&M for £39.99. Not sure if that helps anyone.

jojo1983 · 11/10/2014 20:44

Can anyone tell me what the codes are for Thorntons please

CleoBrown · 11/10/2014 20:47

Argh! Looking for a build a bear toothless online (yes I know about the others but unfortunately this is a specific request :( ) does anyone know if they're going to be available soon?

masynywlad · 11/10/2014 20:59

Has anyone seen a 'good' and cheap-ish Father Christmas outfit for DH?

Laundryangel · 11/10/2014 21:00

To the poster looking for play doh - I would actually make up your own set. ASDA, Wilkos & Dunelm (and no doubt others) all so plastic cookie cutters and plastic baking sets for about £1 or £1.50 and then just add a few tubs of play doh. The baking is crucial as it contains a rolling pin.
