Mumsnet is back! Yay! I missed this thread.....

o0 · 11/10/2014 14:12

Congrats to those who've had thread babies! Grin

I just got a couple of these stamps/seals after someone posted about them on a past thread.

They are really good. Often the quality of stuff from China is a bit rubbish and they aren't made from what they claim it is but these are great quality. Just need to buy some wax now. Grin

I have a vague memory of 3D post-it notes in various shapes (apple springs to mind?) last year on these threads. Ring any bells with anyone? Would be a perfect stocking filler for stationery-mad DC this year.

HUKD says Underarmour tops are about £35 in other shops, but on amazon are from only £10 depending on size at the moment

I posted about the fruit notepads last year plates - if you do a general search on ebay (and probably on amazon and aliexpress too!) for fruit notepad there are loads. They're notepads rather than post it notes though - and if you want a really full apple notepad then it might be worth getting two to get the same effect as the ones in the picture.

This link has lots in price order (although it's worth scrolling through if you're buying several as some people offer 3 for the price of 2 which means they become relatively cheaper per pad but ebay price sorting doesn't pick it up.
www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&LH_BIN=1&_nkw=fruit+notepad&_sop=15

A typical apple costs 99p - this supplier had lots of other fruit too

There are loads of other things too including christmas trees which are cute and festive.

If you go through ebay.com rather than ebay.co.uk there are a few sellers that sell these from about 88 cents including free postage which makes them even cheaper, although there doesn't seem to be such a big selection particularly at the cheapest end.

However if she likes cute stationery - they do have loads of cute stuff at about the $1 mark including postage when similar stuff comes up at 99p over here so about 60-70p depending on the exchange rate (and even at a bad exchange rate it's still cheaper than here!) - these cute post it notes are great (including things that are 88 cents that would make nice presents for friends if they too like cute stationery) but search for other things on there too for all sorts of different things.

The korean (or japanese?) name for their cute stationery seems to be kawaii - if you do a search for kawaii stationery on ebay.com loads of different cute stuff comes up - note pads, pens, rulers, lip glosses, phone charms, rubbers, washi tape, purses, clips, things for winding up earphone or charger wires, stickers and so much more, all for around $1-2 each.

platespinnermum · 11/10/2014 16:21

Ooh thanks so much tanya & zipzap, that's exactly what I was after! And now I know there are also notepads I the DC need those as well! Wink

Lots of Christmas stuff in Aldi and Lidl now - starting to get into this.

I must keep a list of what I buy, though,

Nanny25 · 11/10/2014 16:24

I'm looking for a play dough set, one with a few tubs of dough and just normal cutters. Looking to spend £10 or under. Can anyone recommend any?

Something like this would be good, but out of my price range.

Congratulations Groovester Thanks Lovely name. It's my number 1 favourite not even pg Grin

I had to go out rl shopping today as the site was down! Shock

Got lots of lovely things. Some bargains off the top of my head:

M&S had boxes of chocolates reduced from £9 to £4.50.

B&M had frozen advent calenders for 99p and I also got a massive wine glass (that holds a bottle! Grin for £2.99 rrp around £8 I think.

I got 2 of the elf sacks from Poundland mentioned up thread (sorry can't remember by who) They are lovely and perfect to present the Hunter wellies I've got for my DM and DSIS.

Poundland also had big bags of snowmen shaped marshmallows which looked nice.

Can't remember other bargains I got sorry (they're all upstairs now and my feet are killing! Perhaps I'll post them tomorrow if I remember)

I did get lots of Christmas related non bargains- decorations, 3 pairs of Christmas pjs for me Well, you have to wear clean ones a lot Wink A nice Christmas jumper for DH from Tesco, lots of Christmas chocolates from M&S along with the reduced ones including a huge Christmas tree shaped box of their version of walnut whips and mini boxes of truffles. I think I spent around £40 or so in there, though £10 was on some lovely reindeer fairy lights. Mini Christmas cakes on 3 for 2 (£2 each) at Tesco, tubs of twiglets/mini cheddars and much more!

I now feel really festive!

scopeisawesome123 · 11/10/2014 18:30

Wow hope sounds like a busy day it's no wonder your feet are killing you. I thought I was doing well with Christmas prep but you put me to shame Grin
