That's why I encourage my sister to buy a voucher for a sweet shop/craft place each year for the children. They get a day out which is cheap for me, they enjoy it and it doesn't add any more tat to the house.

For the same reason, (and because they really enjoy it) I have bought theatre tickets for my parents for each of their birthdays and panto tickets for all of my family for an evening out at the local, excellent, rock and roll panto. I get everyone an ice cream too, to complete the present.

My children have a combination of things they want, things they need and a few surprises in their gift selection.

escape · 09/10/2014 20:31

Brain not working entirely well tonight,
Can anyone guide me on how to use the Molton Brown codes to get best value? Do they stack etc?

RJnomore · 09/10/2014 20:32

What about the jack wills stuff pigley? X

zipzap · 09/10/2014 20:45

Not specifically Christmas but I was in Sainsburys today (in MK) and there were Phillips Halogen Bulbs (little G5.3 I think - or maybe gu 5.3) that were in the clearance section rather than the bulbs section - 20p for a pack of 3 bulbs - they're over £7 for the same pack on Amazon.

I might have bought 10 packs for £2 which should set me up for life as we have some but not loads of lights that need them... Now need to peruse the thread again to see what I can spend my £70 savings on Grin

pigleychez · 09/10/2014 20:46

oh ok I'll have a look. [Thanks] RJ

Never been in there before.. Always thought it too young and trendy for me!

Picturesinthefirelight · 09/10/2014 20:46

Wow I can't keep up!

Thank you for straighteners links & Body Shop code.

TrisisFour · 09/10/2014 20:50

Before you check out coffee check out the magic cauldron, also orchard games. It's all about adding and subtracting and you have to use the heat from your hands to rub the cards and reveal the answer Grin.

snappybadger · 09/10/2014 20:51

CoffeeOne if you're planning on buying Connect 4 don't get it from Amazon! The Entertainer has it for £6.66 at the moment and there is also a 5% discount code from hotukdeals, bringing it down to just £6.33 :)

TrisisFour · 09/10/2014 20:54

Zipzap, I'm very jealous of you living in/near mk. I lived there for 5 years and I sooooo miss the shopping!!

margaritasbythesea · 09/10/2014 20:55

Boden have 15% off sale orices plus free delivery and returns atm

RJnomore · 09/10/2014 21:02

Pigley there is a sale on just now with good stuff - deoending on how much you want to spend, purses for £7 etc and I think just starting high school is the ideal age for it

MissRainbowBrite · 09/10/2014 21:03

Reastie - this happened on my Thorntons order, I was trying to add names while the items were in my basket. Try taking them out then adding names before you add them to basket, should work then.
I've just had the dispatch email from Thorntons, £29 of goodies on its way, I used the 5 for £20 and the 20% off so saved about £18 in total I think. Thanks muscly to whoever posted that one Smile

Loobylou3 · 09/10/2014 21:04

Trisisfour...every time I see your name I wonder if it is to do with 'Divergent' (Tris and Four)?????

RJnomore · 09/10/2014 21:07

1980jm · 09/10/2014 22:02

Hi for escape re the Molton Brown, it depends what you want / need to buy. I wanted one big set (so went for a £49 one which is their cut off for free delivery) and used BAZAAR45 giving me the free set worth £36 & free delivery.
I then ordered 2x hand wash £16 each, added room fragrance reeds for £10 (normal price £39 - no code so used HOUSE10 here) total of £32 & £4.95 delivery.
If you wanted more stuff than me you could get free delivery here also.
As a bonus you get a free sample 40ml or so with each order (treat for me!)
You can't stack codes as mentioned before.

1980jm · 09/10/2014 22:03

I'm sure someone will now come along and find a way to save even more!
