Those Lego items look good, thanks Scaredy.

Scaredycat3000 · 27/09/2014 20:01

Actually I'd go for mixels @ £3 much better than £2:50 possibly rubbish minifigure. Just go to WH Smith and look behind the tills.

xmasplanner · 27/09/2014 20:05

NumptyNu - my dd likes lego friends a lot. I have been looking at lego creator for Ds - they have nice beach house and 3 in 1 sets.

Keepcalmanddrinkwine · 27/09/2014 20:23

Lots of Lego on Isme and Very, not bargainous unless you use a code. There's a Very valid until 31st Oct (£30 off a £60 spend with the code 4KMY4) and pm me if you want an Isme recommendation (£20 off £45 spend).

Loads of other popular toys and they some on offer too.

MsAspreyDiamonds · 27/09/2014 20:32

Ainmnua My ds is five and is an avid collector of hot wheels & other die cast cars.

www.hotwheels.com/en-gb/collection/BDD18_2015-Ford-Mustang

these are perfect little token gifts to put in with an xmas card. I bought the latest one from Argos, there was a massive bin by the checkout. Most supermarkets have them too.

supermariossister · 27/09/2014 20:38

ds says he has seen an advert for a helicopter in a blue ball that flies around and can go up walls to the ceiling, does anyone know what it is :S

scaredy, I linked to the telegraph article earlier today. If you read it it mentions mutagenics in that. The original article was linked from a chat thread, thread would still be there as definitely less than 90 days ago if you're interested.

I'm not trying to scare anyone and it's up to you whether you heed the advice but just wanted to let people know what I'd read as it seems to have come from a reliable source. I wouldn't have thought washing the offending items would make a difference btw as it's what they're made of that's the problem. But up to us as individuals what we do with the information, not trying to tell anyone what to do.

Barbeasty · 27/09/2014 21:06

Numpty Right now DD loves all things lego friends. But before she got into that she used to play with just a big box of bricks.

I'm thinking of getting DH a big box of lego bricks and more bricks for Christmas, so that he can play with it with DD. They do some good boxes of bricks.

NorksEnormous · 27/09/2014 21:15

Last year on the Christmas bargain thread, I bought a lot of books that were linked to that were cheap on amazon. One of them was 'where the wild things are'- this quickly turned into ds's favourite book and we still have to read it at least once a week before bed. I was just looking through eBay and by chance came across these wild things pyjamas to give him for Christmas this year! They aren't very bargainous but he will be delighted! Smile

could be couldn't it he says it climbs up walls and all sorts Grin. thanks for the help

306235388 · 27/09/2014 21:32

ialreadytoldyou don't worry about it, I think most people know you were only trying to help.

TeWiSavesTheDay · 27/09/2014 21:45

Barbeasty - a few years ago DH bought me a box of Lego roof bricks! I love them, loads of fun making buildings.

I bought my DD this Lego creator 3in1 house which is brilliant also -www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00B06IJRO?cache=01c6e35b548064f72a1b118757de0455&pi=SX200_QL40&qid=1411850559&sr=8-1#ref=mp_s_a_1_1 not a bad price but has been lower might be worth watching on camelcamelcamel for anyone who is looking out for non-lego friends sets that have girl minifigs. It also has a light up brick.

Thanks madrigals and 306. Feel like I'm stamping out all the Christmas joy Grin

Just one more bit of info about the bands and I will stop bleating on, promise. I found the original article. It's a bbc one and it says bands and charms are affected. Link above.

IAlreadyToldYou · 27/09/2014 21:49

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/a2158857-Loom-Bands

Also, here is the original thread in chat where I first heard about the warning.

momwhereismy · 27/09/2014 22:15

Just ordered mobigo with free cars game for 19.99 very pleased with this bargain as usually 50£ odd. Probably a new one out or something but I don't care.
Scaredy I think Ialready is just trying to warn us,like anybody would, it is up to us how we take the warning. Just like it is your right to continue using them.

Now let's find the bargains!

admiralclingus · 27/09/2014 22:17

Saw some hot wheels cars in poundland yesterday if it's any use to anyone!

Also, if anyone has a large boots nearby, we have loads of reduced toys instore that still go through as 3 for 2 but aren't technically part of our Christmas stock. Lots of imagibext stuff in the one in Birmingham reduced down to £3. Also, Yankee candles are included in the Christmas 3 for 2 and have lots of the Christmas scents as well as candle stands and toppers

Yankee

nicky2512 · 27/09/2014 22:22

SUPERMARIO its an air hogs rollercopter. cant link but its in smyths catalogue. DS wants it too!

nicky2512 · 27/09/2014 22:25

The advert for it looks great. Shows it going up walls, over ceiling, downstairs etc. Doubt it will be quite so good in real life!!

saladfingers · 27/09/2014 22:36

My DS wanted the AirHoggs helicopter too but it has terrible reviews on Amazon. Not sure it will be worth the money?!

lucysmam · 27/09/2014 22:39

Poundland (green one) had packs of four Frozen hairslides and Monster High hairslides in yesterday when I nipped in. And Primarni had some nice tiaras that would go well with Elsa dresses (they were more a hairband than tiara iyswim so small people would manage getting them on right). Think they were two quid Smile
