BRICKMASTER gets 15% off lego products at the book people

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/09/2014 17:36

www.topcashback.co.uk/buy-subscriptions/

Subscribe to the radio times for 3 months for a £1, including the Christmas issue, and get £5.25 cashback.

Don't forget to cancel though or they'll charge you more in 3 months Wink

Reastie · 27/09/2014 18:02

jersey thanks for the digibird. That's pretty much the only thing DD has actually been asking for for Christmas (she's been conned by the adverts) so that's done.

Oops sorry wrong thread!

siblingrevelryagain · 27/09/2014 18:06

I've just done the radio times cashback thing and, unless I'm missing something, a 12 month subscription is now only £1 by direct debit (it says (96% off), and the cashback of £5.25 seems valid too.

Please let me know if there's some small print I've missed!

Reastie · 27/09/2014 18:06

Ialreadytoldyou I've added your comment for the next OP. I've ordered DD a cheap knock off hello kitty watch from Aliexpress (waiting for it to arrive). DO you think that might have problems too? [worried]

These snowflake hair slides at £2.79 delivered might be good stocking fillers for any frozen fans.

IAlreadyToldYou · 27/09/2014 18:25

Oh I don't know reastie. It's frightening isn't it. I'd ordered a jibbitz band and some Frozen charms for it for my youngest dd (from China) and have binned them just in case. Was going to get some Frozen figurines for dd's bday cake too but won't bother now. Maybe there's some info on the web about which plastics are more likely to be effected. I'll have a look.

NumptyNu · 27/09/2014 18:28

Can anyone recommend any good beginner lego sets for girls or neutral ones?

GirlWithTheYellowHat · 27/09/2014 18:32

Sorry what's the website to find the low add on items on amazon?

GirlWithTheYellowHat · 27/09/2014 18:36

Found it in the OP oooops

Scaredycat3000 · 27/09/2014 18:42

Ialready could you supply the link for your info please? I'm not sure how carcinogens, cancer causing substances, can cause birth defects decades later. It's always interesting to see who funded a study of a very cheap and most popular fad leading up to Christmas.

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/09/2014 19:00

siblingrevelryagain

It's 12 issues, it's weekly.

JerseySpud · 27/09/2014 19:00

You're welcome. Ive ordered a blue and orange and DD1's best friend has a birthday before christmas so will give it to her then.

siblingrevelryagain · 27/09/2014 19:02

Duh! Thanks fluffy; in my defence it's been a long week....

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/09/2014 19:08

Don't worry, I do the same.

IAlreadyToldYou · 27/09/2014 19:25

scaredy, they are said to contain carcinogenics (not sure if that's the correct sp) and mutagenics , guessing it's the mutagenics that cause the birth defects? I linked to the telegraph article earlier today. I can't remember where I saw the original articl, someone had linked to it in a thread in chat.

Picturesinthefirelight · 27/09/2014 19:31

The Entertainer toy shop had to take their loom band charms off the shelf about a month ago when they were found to contain carcinogenic materials.

The spot checks were undertaken by a BBC Midlands TV programme.

freedom2post · 27/09/2014 19:32

I'm after a crying Annabell doll if anyone sees a bargain Smile

306235388 · 27/09/2014 19:43

In asda they have the cheaper version of monster high dolls - pixie punks pack of girl and boy for £10 and it's on the 2 for £14 too

Scaredycat3000 · 27/09/2014 19:44

Something contains carcinogens or is carcinogenic Ialready. Shame you can't remember the article, Snopes (last on the list) makes no mention of mutagenics and I've never heard of mutagenics (neither has spell check!) though many lectures and doing Health and safety for children using materials for nearly 10 years. I'm not going to get hysterical over loom bands, I'll use any charms we have on things that aren't warn next to the skin after a good wash.

Ainmnua · 27/09/2014 19:46

Does anyone know something small that I could add to Christmas cards that I post as a little token for 4-5 year old boys?

I'm looking for the boy equivalent of a little purse for girls, so something a bit more substantial than just stickers but still around the £3 mark.

TIA

Scaredycat3000 · 27/09/2014 19:51

Lego minifigure or lego mixels or toy car ?
