I am looking for a bag, possibly just a cloth bag type for someone who loves musicals. Maybe a quote or something. Something simple, bit like the "XXXXX are good" bags. Ideas?

Barbeasty · 21/09/2014 16:15

I refuse to get the snow glow Elsa. I love DD, but I'm not putting myself through that. And DS would rip the wire out any way.

I just need to sit on my hands and not buy lego for her. She's done for this year.

NorksEnormous · 21/09/2014 16:22

Just out of homebargains and they had lucy the dog for 23.99. Did anyone get it last year and is it worth it?

Rosa · 21/09/2014 16:29

Christmas.... never can plan too early Thank you for this...

IAmAPaleontologist · 21/09/2014 16:30

I am gutted. I doubt you can help but back when the Lego research institute was released BIL said he would get it for dd for Christmas or her birthday (which is on Dec 23rd) so knowing him to be a lego geek, on all the priority lists etc I left him to it. Of course it sold out everywhere very, very quickly but I wasn't worried. Today he phoned up and said he was starting to Christmas shop and that it was sold out (no shit!) isn't available, was a special release and isn't coming back .All stuff that I know! You can get it on eBay but at £40 when the original retail price was £15.

My fault for not making sure he realised that he needed to get there and then but Grrrrrrr!

It was so, so important to me to get dd that set. She wants to be a paleontologist when she grows up and is always having to battle the boys in school over the question of girls being allowed to like dinosaurs. Of course she has dinosaur toys and clothes all other the place but the children in her books are boys, the clothes come from the boy section and are not swirly skirts or dresses. This was one chance to get something really influential for a small girl.

I am really upset.

Possibly irrationally so given that I was in a pretty foul, tearful mood to start off with but it has pushed me over the edge.

If anyone knows of a way I can get one for less than they are going for on eBay please, please let me know.

KnackeredMuchly · 21/09/2014 16:30

IamaPaleontologist - I know someone one Facebook who makes custom book bags, I've seen her Les Mis ones at least but she can do anything. They're £10+p&p so it's not a bargain though.

Shall I PM you the link?

Mama1980 · 21/09/2014 16:32

:)

KnackeredMuchly · 21/09/2014 16:33

Just x-posted. Shame about the set :(

Can you try local toys for sale groups on Facebook? Why not ask him to buy it on ebay as a joint Christmas birthday present?

JerseySpud · 21/09/2014 16:35

Iamapaleontologist This any good

chestnut100 · 21/09/2014 16:43

If anyone is planning on making an Italian themed foodie hamper, tracks at the moment have a dolmio but a white sauce and tomato lasagne sauce offer on for £3. With this you get a really deep, rather nice lasagne dish. It's an absolute steal. The lasagne dish could be filled with your treats and used as the hamper itself. Hope that's a useful idea for someone

Feartheescalator · 21/09/2014 16:43

Thank you Reastie
My local Smiths has those lovely tins that include books, stickers and colouring stuff at £7.50 or 2 for 10. They had the Frozen and Minnie Mouse ones. Obviously the Frozen one was selling fast.
