What would you like for Christmas this year?

I love to hear what other people are coveting, but also looking for inspiration for my family/friends.

Oh Mama that's dissapointing - although I don't really need it anyway as have naked 2 and a gorgeous limited edition clinique one with 8 neutrals. Maybe I should go for some colour instead.

70 I am like you I need a few things for the house but I really don't want to wait until Christmas. Would love a decent food processor but haven't a clue where to start.

I hate to say it but I had this convo
with dh as we were out having breakfast.
Mainly because its his birthday in 2 weeks and I asked him what he wanted. We never do surprises.

We only buy for each other and teens, so it's stress free.

I think I'll have new Duo boots, a leather jacket I have seen in Banana Republic and a four day trip to Grayshott.

Caramelkate · 23/08/2014 11:26

I want a Heston Kettle. I know it sounds dull, but it will boil to several temperatures depending on which tea I am drinking, and I love unusual teas :)

MsVanRein · 23/08/2014 11:35

MrsDavidBowie - I had to google Grayshott, it looks absolutely lovely!

CaramelKate not boring at all I think the Heston kettle looks fab!

I love nude palettes, its more that it had lots of colours which looked nice in the pan but not on my skin. Also I don't know if they've messed with the formula but seemed different. The Bobbi Brown one I bought is nudes and lovely. Also seen a Mac Professional nude palette which looks good. Last year a friend bought me a Nars palette and that was really good (until I left it in a hotel).

I actually just wanted to recommend Kenwood Food Processors. I'm not really one for cooking but we have one of these and everything I've used it for has been good results, plus its as good as new 8 years later.

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 23/08/2014 11:39

A new hot water bottle and cover.

MrsDavidBowie · 23/08/2014 11:39

MsVanRein I go twice a year for 4 days. Bliss. Have been going for 19 years, always alone.
I go about 14 th December..perfect.

MsVanRein · 23/08/2014 11:39

Me too Mama, Smashbox brought one out recently too I fancied the look of. It's my field of work so I'm surrounded by makeup all day and it's very hard to resist buying more when I spot something I like the look of!

Will have a look at the kenwood food processors thanks.

I want a new car... I'm the worlds worst at parking (and driving) and am currently working on DH to get me one with park assist...

He's currently on no!

MsVanRein · 23/08/2014 12:17

curiousgeorgie I would love a car like that. If only our budget could stretch to a new car!

When I've mentioned getting a car with parking sensors etc DH point blank shuts it down as he says I will never improve my parking if I rely on parking assist. I am dire at parking though.

OP posts:
curiousgeorgie · 23/08/2014 12:23

DH says 'how about driving lessons, they're cheaper?!'

I don't think I have much hope of actually getting a new car but I'll keep asking Wink

MsVanRein · 23/08/2014 12:26

I think it would be a wise move where I'm concerned - I crashed into my own garden wall last year Confused I'm convinced it would save us a fortune in the long term!

Yes nothing to lose, you never know!

A Horse

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 23/08/2014 13:24

I had a Kenwood food pro , (it met it's maker on the floor) I'd replaced the blade and the grater disc over the years. I found the only trouble was there was nothing to grip to twist the bowl off the main body, unless I used the control switch (which isn;t ideal)

I'm hankering after a Magimix .(John Lewis has a nice selection of them)
I had a look at the Heston Food Pro, DH was Hmm (they are £400 )

JerseySpud · 23/08/2014 13:34

Or failing that a new kindle as mines playing silly buggers, a nice paperwhite one

Perfume

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 23/08/2014 13:38

Go for the horse Jersey then at the last minute, adjust your list . Your family will be so relieved, you'll get the Kindle and perfume.
I do this every year.
"Hmm, I'd like a horse"
"You haven't got time"
"OK, a horse share "
"Your back is knackered"
"But, I was looking at jodhpurs today..........."
"D'you want some L'Occitane stuff"

Result .

Plus, have you ever tried to fit a horse down a chimney Wink

SaidFlorence · 23/08/2014 13:43

I want a cajon.

MsVanRein · 23/08/2014 16:32

I did look at the kitchenaid food processors but they are also pricey. Magimix look nice will further investigate!

Jersey I say go for the horse too Grin

Msvanrain I like the look of no2 I need to really go into town and look better at them before I send my list to dh.

MsVanRein · 23/08/2014 18:41

Spotty 2 is lovely - I've had 1 in past and use 2 now and definitely prefer it.

I think would definitely be worth having a look though and see which you like best in the flesh.

I want a pyecost.

"What's a pyecost ?"

" £1.79 on Greggs"

Bah Boom Tishhh Wink

Pointlessfan · 23/08/2014 21:59

I'd like some sort of xmas miracle to occur that would mean my mat leave wouldn't have to end in the new year.
As that's unlikely I'll settle for some new clothes so at least I don't return to work looking like a bag lady in a lot of old clothes that no longer fit properly!
