Play kitchen for 3 year old.

DD will be 3 at Christmas and we want to get her a play kitchen. Wooden or plastic? Any recommendations?

We have a wooden one from IKEA. Really sturdy. DD {3} loves it.

We brought ds Ikea one last yr for 3 bday excellent quality n value for money as had come down in price.

I would buy that n get pink accessories for it.

Think elc do a red wooden one or gltc do a pink one

We had a plastic one for 2 bday n ended up in playhouse outside wooden much nicer.

Came on to recommend Ikea one and saw the pink requirement - could you go with pink accessories, as a previous poster suggested. The ikea kitchen is a really well made and inoffensive looking piece of kit - my dd loves it at 2, and I'm sure will do for years to come. I wasn't sure about it after I bought it, as it seems quite plain for a child, but adorned with all the play accessories (and stickers from nursery in our case!) it soon brightens up!

We have the ikea one, it's fab and much sturdier than any plastic ones I've seen, and lots cheaper than other wooden ones. How about getting one and adding some decals, like these and pink accessories?

The ikea one is the way to go. You can always buy pink accessories if she insists on them. ikea also do lovely accessories. here

We bought the tidlo play kitchen in red and wooden Melissa and Doug pots/pans and playfood.
It has been played with every day for three years and for the last year by every child I have minded.
It still looks brand new.

I got the asda pink one and my LO loves is. They usually do it for £35 nearer to christmas (they have for the last 3 years) a picture of it is here

At the risk of sounding like a copy cat....We got dd2 the Ikea one for her third birthday. She was seven last week and still plays with it on a regular basis. It still looks like new and she's only ever managed to chip one of the plates we got along side it.

Another vote for ikea! We got it for DD last Xmas, she's played with it every dAy since and it still looks new. The little cupboards are great toy storage and she likes to stand behind it and play shops.

There are loads if "ikea hacks" for the kitchen on pintrest. You could always paint it or put up some frilly curtains etc if that's the look you want.

We have a red John Lewis one in excellent condition you could have for a bargain price if you are anywhere near Maidenhead!!!

Got ds the red Tidlo one for last Christmas when he was nearly 3. It's a bit smaller than the Ikea one which is great for us as it had to fit in a small space. I also got him the Asda wooden market stall to go with it when it dropped down in price. I got the Tidlo one for about £25 less than the usual price on Amazon by putting a price watch on it.

Found one, but it is the elc country one, and is expensive, but looks lovely. Was thinking kitchen for birthday with pans, then a few cutting bits and a toaster for Christmas.

Like the red one too but wanted work surface space.

DD has a Kid Kraft one, predominantly pink with other pastels, wooden and very sturdy.

My dd got this one when she was 3 and loved it. It is now with my dn. good and sturdy. One thing to note though, it comes in 190odd bits. Not good to be merry on Christmas Eve trying to put it together.
