Has anyone seen any codes for Clas Ohlson? My mum wants a record turntable and I've seen a good one in there but it's a little more than I wanted to spend...

Frozenatchristmas · 09/12/2013 13:20

Those glasses are beautiful and such a good price. I just don't have a need for them. Steps away reluctantly.

cuddlymoomoo · 09/12/2013 13:27

Got one - thank you all! I think I had been fooled by all the hype saying there were none in stock anywhere. Went out planning to go into every shop, do pre-orders everywhere, be nice to everyone (tricky) and just hope - but got it in first shop I went into Hmm . . . I've been duped haven't I? There was never a shortage in the first place Confused.

Gladvent · 09/12/2013 13:34

Borntofolk Clas Ohlson had a thing the other day, I gave a friend a £5 gift token for free via an app/facebook thingy that I read about on MSE.

www.moneysavingexpert.com/deals/discount-voucher-codes
Scroll down to article 'Team up for £5 gift cards for Strada, Cafe Rouge etc'

Bit fiddly but hope it helps.

ICanSeeTheSeaFromHere · 09/12/2013 13:47

Toy wooden microwave perfect for anyone buying a toy kitchen etc. Down to £5.

BornToFolk · 09/12/2013 13:54

Thanks Gladvent! I just signed up and got a £5 voucher sent to my sister, with strict instructions to give it back!

DrankSangriaInThePark · 09/12/2013 14:02

Come on come on!!! We need to carry on shopping so that ^^ that post about the Viking helmets can be a thread title!

DrankSangriaInThePark · 09/12/2013 14:04

I am having a wrapping paper existential angst moment.

I don't like any of it. It's not me enough this year. M and S is bland, and every bugger will have it, John Lewis looks more like birthday paper, Paperchase is dull. House of Fraser and Selfridges are meh.

I want red and green proper Christmassy. With holly and shit. I don't want scandi kraft paper wishy washy pale blue arty farty stuff.

Fluffytent · 09/12/2013 14:06

Does anyone know of veryyyyyy cheap Playmobil stuff? (I've got the argos link and got the dragon castle)

...is there anymore...love their stuff, DS can't destroy it like his lego stuff as easily Xmas Smile

MooseyMoo · 09/12/2013 14:15

Hmm, have you tried WHSmith? Had quick look and they have holly but might be shit!

zipzap · 09/12/2013 14:17

in haste as I have to go out but vouchercode have got a unique code for 15% off at debenhams - you need to go through the vouchercodes.co.uk site to get it.

Badvocatyuletide · 09/12/2013 14:18

Sangria...the most xmasy wrapping paper tends to be on the cheapest shops ime...places like b and m and home bargains or Wilkos...some decent stuff in my local co op too x

zipzap · 09/12/2013 14:25

dranksangria have you got access to a costco? they have some very jolly traditional red and green stuff.

And although it is £7/roll, the roll is about a zillion 50 metres long so lasts forever and works out very cheap per metre. and it is great quality, double sided - I have a lovely one from 3 years ago that is seriously red with green and white dots on one side and very jolly santa's on the other side. And I still haven't got to half way on the roll (despite this I have also bought their purple one this year as I just fancied a change and thought people might notice if their presents are all wrapped in the same paper again...)

I've also had cheap jolly paper from morrisons to wrap presents from santa in as obviously he doesn't have access to my wrapping paper stash now the dc are old enough to notice such things... and have had nice traditional red and green themed stuff from them.

Alternatively - what about Boots? They often have quite decent christmas paper...

DrankSangriaInThePark · 09/12/2013 14:32

Oh, I never thought about any of those! D'oh! Thanks, will go and have a scour round now....

Fluffytent- ebay? I am watching various bits and bobs, and as people who are buying it as a main present will not be daring to wait until auction ends etc I reckon sales ending this weekend will be quite bargainous.

confusedalways · 09/12/2013 14:35

Thank you Silly. The Amazon was slightly cheaper though and spending £40 on nail varnish for myself is too much right? Right? Argh I'm going to order aren't I. Grin

Gladvent · 09/12/2013 14:46

The costco paper is the best quality I've ever bought. You don't need to cut you slide the scissors along sort. and very jolly green!

Aintnobodylovesnanbetter · 09/12/2013 14:51

Thanks for the twinings post.just ordered a box of 12 assorted teabags for my dm and a pick and mix selection to put in dh's food hamper.

Munxx · 09/12/2013 14:51

munxx -please can have one,but i cant seem to message you, sorry.

kiwidreamer · 09/12/2013 15:06

another vote for the Costco wrapping paper, I've just spent the week wrapping 70 books for playgroup xmas party and haven't minded a bit due to fab Costco paper and tape dispenser from Aldi!

postie has just been and delivered, not one Glamour magazine freebie but TWO!!! I did ring to complain a few weeks back that freebie not received and they said they'd reorder, then I called last week to see what the story was and they said it had been dispatched and today two separate Body Shop HoneyMania gift sets arrived - chuffed!!!

Can anyone help in a gift related situation... DH wants an Xbox One and I think I'll relent and give my blessing for him to buy one when they are readily available as his xmas / birthday present --and because I strongly suspect the Harts of Spur laaaaaaarge and heeeeeeeeeavy parcel that arrived the other day is the kitchenaid of my dreeeeeeeeeeeeeeams-- so I want to give him a box on Christmas day filled with X's and 1's, any ideas of how I can get pre cut X's and 1's without me spending hours with the scissors??!!

Gladvent · 09/12/2013 15:20

Kiwi you could do something like this? www.mobypicture.com/user/wissys/view/349595

Penguinbeaver · 09/12/2013 15:25

John Grisham's latest book (sequel to A Time to Kill) has just dropped to £8 on amazon, cheapest I've seen it anywhere.

mum2jakie · 09/12/2013 15:33

Thanks for the Minecraft book tip, ova.

Have ordered and been offered a free Amazon Prime trial too which should be handy for last minute bargains!

Happymum32 · 09/12/2013 15:36

Hello all, I need help I have a UIL that I need to buy for and I have no idea what to get for him. He likes music. Budget is a tenner but he has expensive tastes. Any ideas would be fab! Thank you very very much.

Boden has some lovely girls dresses at 20%- 50% off if anyone is looking.

kiwidreamer · 09/12/2013 15:44

Hmmmm Gladvent you might be on to something there, I could get a paper mache number 1 from Hobbycraft and write Xbox on the front of it, that could work?

Tho was cuddlymoo saying a few pages back that she got an Xbox One no drama first shop she went to????? I thought they were out of stock everywhere??!!
