Can you imagine the Murad person in charge of orders going into the office tomorrow morning to find hundreds of orders for the exact same thing. Shock Grin

pingusmumtoo · 03/11/2013 23:08

MURADTG - another Murad code - just buy anything and this will give you £75 worth of stuff - not sure if youcwould buy the book and then stack all codes?!

Opheliabumps · 03/11/2013 23:13

Bea how about a home made hamper, with stuff you've made yourself? I second the coffee table book on local history or maybe related to what he did before he retired? Wheat pack for his arthritis, and some gadgets to help him open jars/cans to make his life easierz.

RhondaJean · 03/11/2013 23:17

The three Murad codes stack!

Dare I order again for myself? I could use another name?

I have just realised that I ordered some hair stuff for my DS and it hasn't arrived but I have forgotten who I ordered it from. aaarghhh

zipzap · 03/11/2013 23:31

Somebody was asking about Jellycat toys - they have a red dog, a pink mouse and a brown monkey half price on www.tkmaxx.com - not many left so check quickly.

Seem to be £10-12.50 instead of £20-25.

And they're trialling click and collect if you're lucky enough to live in Birmingham - fingers crossed it gets rolled out everywhere very soon!

izzybizzybuzzybees · 03/11/2013 23:32

I've ordered the murad stuff too. Got order confirmation and it just shows a book and the zest perfecting duo so I don't know if the free gift with the book will come? Anyone else's confirmation list that too? It did say in the small print whilst stocks last for the book free gift so maybe too many mumsnetters have ordered!!

omama · 03/11/2013 23:47

Thought I'd let you know playmobil swimming pool 4858 is on offer with toys r us today for £16.84. This was web price, in store priced at £26.99. We got 2!

Do the tesco discount codes work even if you've done the voucher exchange?

Chocolateteabag · 04/11/2013 00:01

Bea - what about heated gloves or seat pad for your dad? It's what I ended up getting mine last year as he seems to like/want nothing I'll look up the ones I got tomorrow if you are interested.
Also got my gran a heated seat pad as her last Christmas present, like a mini electric blanket for her chair - I "made her Christmas" that year ( I was one of 14 grandchildren so you can imagine Grin)

Thanks for the murad post - just wish I'd read to the end of the thread to stack all 3 codes before I ordered!

zipzap · 04/11/2013 00:19

Bea is it worth getting a catalogue from somewhere like Boots that has lots of helpful assistive stuff in (sorry, can't remember the proper name for it Blush).

I know I picked up a gadget for putting socks on without the need to bend down from it for my mum's dp who was struggling and he found it really useful. also stuff that is easier to grip (cutlery, kettle pourers, etc) or hand warmers or other stuff that might make life a bit easier for him? Not particularly fun christmasy stuff but if he doesn't like getting stuff very much anyway then he can't really complain!

Alternatively, how about some grumpy old man mints from amazon for £2.50 - might make him laugh? Or search on there for grumpy old man for all sorts of other such gifts.

parrotsandcarsnips · 04/11/2013 00:32

Imaginext submarine half price in argos if you can manage to get it in stock in your area. Makes it £12.49 for those who missed out on the amazon reduction-perhaps for you blackberryseason it's getting great reviews

Pumpkintopf · 04/11/2013 00:44

Bea if you do decide to go down the local history book route try Frances Frith - they have loads of places covered with books, maps, puzzles and various other gift ideas.
They do quite often have offers on so if you can wait may be worth signing up to their mailing list to see if anything you like may drop in price before Christmas.

Deni99 · 04/11/2013 00:50

Help, does the free gift from Murad show up in your basket before you checkout? Don't want to order if its run out!!

Mellowandfruitful · 04/11/2013 01:32

It didn't for me, Deni. The Zest one did so I am definitely getting something for nothing Smile but nothing about the free gift that goes with the book. I thought I'd wait and see what comes when it's delivered and then take it up with them if I need to.

Deni99 · 04/11/2013 02:05

Many thanks Mellow. Just ordered & will keep my fingers crossed!

BeaWheesht · 04/11/2013 05:25

Thanks for all the suggestions, really helpful.

He'd go into an almighty strop if I bought him anything to help him with opening jars etc, he's so difficult!

Definitely like the birds / history book : guerrilla gardening ideas.....the grumpy old man stuff is an absolute must too - thanks.

MooseyMoo · 04/11/2013 06:05

Bea I bought my DF a hot wax system for his hands which helped with his arthiritis. I bought it from Argos but looks like it's been discontinued.

We found out about from a beauty therapist who did treatments at your home. Could you get him something similar.

MooseyMoo · 04/11/2013 06:20

For people with Minecraft addicts: tshirt from M&Co

20% off with LOYALTY20

MooseyMoo · 04/11/2013 06:23

There is a thread on MSE where they are sharing their Minecraft finds

DrankSangriaInThePark · 04/11/2013 06:31

Bea- what about one of those birdcam things?

In previous years I've bought my Mum a bee house (complete with "bee landing strip" (which was what sold it to me despite it basically being a block of wood the bees are supposed to land on before going in)) a birdcam, a ladybird house (and then in May had some ladybird larva (or something equally insecty) delivered) (all were Amazon or ebay)

QueenofClean · 04/11/2013 06:52

Reastie, what was the photography magazine, that would be great for my DH. I'm on my phone so can't find the post. Thanks

Brilliant threads Smile

Nix01 · 04/11/2013 07:01

Can anyone recommend a special birthday gift for around £10 - £20 for a special friend? Preferably something luxurious but bargainous

girlsyearapart · 04/11/2013 07:17

zip thanks for that I got my dad the mints.

Re murad - the free gifts didn't show when I ordered either.

Reastie · 04/11/2013 07:19

nix 3 issues for £1 and free gift on photography mag here but I have no idea what that free gift in the picture is!
