It's crazy close now! Better actually finish the shopping and start wrapping!

Going out tomorrow (erm, today) for birthday lunch so will do some more shopping in the lovely town centre we will be in. But won't be starting to wrap until after my actual birthday on Saturday :o

I really need to sort out my Xmas playlist on iTunes!

cheesypastaplease · 06/12/2013 07:12

We had no power for most of the day yesterday so dc and I spent the day crafting. We have made gift tags using their footprints - should be cute if everyone realises what they are!

The last present arrived yesterday so I can finish wrapping and start delivering gifts. Going to make a big thing of it with dcs - trying to get dd especially to realise that it's not just receiving gifts.

Dd has her Highland dancing Christmas show tonight, she is a jingle bell, if better get my hankies ready. I get very over emotional at these things!!

fuzz that sounds lovely, I wish that I was musical or talented at anything so I could share with dc.

Happy birthday fuzz! Sorry I didn't notice that yesterday! And Happy Birthday to 70s ds!

Dd's show was wonderful. She's only 5 and didn't really have a clue about the dance, but she tried very hard and was cute as a button. Very proud mummy!

Has anyone else got any dcs Christmas shows coming up ?

fuzzpig · 07/12/2013 19:43

Thanks all! Thanks

And happy birthday 70s DS - I'd wanted to post this morning before work (I always associate you with birthdays as I remember from last year's thread - and IIRC your DD's birthday is the day after my DD's not a stalker honest :o) but modem went daft. Hope he's had a great day!

Glad the show went well cheesy! Seeing my DCs' on Tuesday :)

17 Xmas Grin

Quiet day in today, already got an Xmas CD on while DCs play! Carols on the piano later I think (not now, our walls are thin and I'm a considerate neighbour :o). DH moved the furniture round while I was at work yesterday so we've got space for the tree to go up (on the 20th, last day of school - and DSD will be here which will be lovely!)

Trying to get my head around exactly what still needs ordering online so I can do it one hit.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 08/12/2013 12:57

We can start the decorations now Xmas Grin
DD was desperate to put them up last night but I said it was still her DBro birthday so not allowed.

We had a Carvery Meal (DS favourite) and he's embracing his X-Box at the moment .

(December birthdays need careful planning don't they ? Xmas Wink )

We put our tree up yesterday (all the delicate glass baubles but no star at the moment)

Still need to do the rest of the decorations (like the bannister and top of the stairs ) but we're getting there .
Usually we do 10-14 days before, so we're still in time (just) Xmas Grin

I'm just back from dd's first nativity. It was very strange, no baby Jesus or anything like that. Instead it was about a circus at Christmas time. No Away in a Manger, no Little Donkey - what is that all about??!

Hope all the birthdays went well!!

50shadesofknackered · 10/12/2013 07:48

cheesy dd's nativities have been like this too. No Mary, Joseph or Jesus, they also seem to write their own songs! Dd1 had hers last night. She was adorable in it but I do wish they would just stick to the nativity story and the traditional songs. I've finished buying the presents and have now deep cleaned the house. I am currently watching everyone in the house like a hawk to make sure everything used is returned to the right place! I've bought all my presents now, just got to wrap.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 10/12/2013 19:22

Ahem 50shades

Aren't we forgetting something????

Thank goodness it's soon, every morning dd wakes up and asks if Santa has been! I will admit I have lost a bit of Christmas spirit but will try and find it before this wkd.

50s it was the same at my dd's play, I really missed the Christmas songs!

I'm going to deep clean the house next wk. I've just realised that i haven't really got anything for dh so had better sort that out soon!!

fuzzpig · 11/12/2013 09:09

Yay, two weeks today! Xmas Grin

Our school seem to do a nice combination of modern/alternative and traditional. The elements of the nativity are always there but dressed up in a different way.

The yr2s do the main structure/story, but each other class does a dance and a song. This year, one of the classes acted out the John Lewis advert! Everyone laughed when they held up a sign saying "there was once an animal who had never seen Christmas" (or whatever the exact words are - I've only seen the ad once on YouTube!) and the children looked so cute in bear/hare/woodland creature outfits. By the end lots of us were wiping our eyes - not just those with children in that class! It was such a great idea, it really worked.

I can't believe there are only 13 days. I'd better get wrapping!!

cheesypastaplease · 12/12/2013 07:43

Ooh, I'm experiencing "the twitch", ds really needs a talking Scooby Doo doesn't he? I may have to sit on my hands for the rest of the day!

Fri 13th Xmas Confused

I'm going to do some nice, safe wrapping after the DC have gone to school-
but that involves scissors (risky)
setting up the ironing board to wrap on (it's huge and a good height)

and putting up decorations on the bannister

Xmas Hmm maybe I should err on the side of caution and just watch TV all day ...................................................

Getting your done is extremely productive 70s!

Just back from dcs christmas party at local soft play. Ds loved Santa, he went right up and shook his hand. Dd at that age hated him!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 14/12/2013 23:52

Xmas Smile it's funny how some DC are fazed by Father Christmas.
My DS has always been fine, DD was a bit Confused the first time she met him (Paddington Bear Hard Stare was proffered)
