Just had a Twitch Moment and bought a coat (damn you QVC with your handy just-phone-and-order tempting technology)

This is for me Xmas Wink

A week today!! How is everyone's plan coming along? I am most looking forward to stopping the school run on Friday - I'm so over walking to school in the rain!

70s the twitch got me too! Dd now has a My Little Pony castle and ds has a remote control Scooby. Essential items surely?!! Xmas Grin. A coat does sound sensible and doesn't everyone buy themself a Christmas present eyes up the make up I've stashed

50shadesofknackered · 18/12/2013 16:06

I just spent another £70 because of the twitch Xmas Shock I AM OUT OF CONTROL!!!!!! No more! I am not looking at Amazon or going to the shops except Tesco again before Christmas!!! I can't believe there are only 7 days left, I remember whinging in February that I missed Christmas and that only feels like 5 mins ago.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 18/12/2013 16:47

I went to Sainsburys to squander my Nectar Points buy all my heavy non perishable groceries.

Doing really well in a non-Twitchy sort of way ..............until I went to the home decor aisle and I bought a candelebra and taper candles Xmas Shock

In my defence though, I have been looking (saw one in The Range but it was £££)
The Sainsburys one is a 5 candle one, simple but elegant, 33% off Xmas Grin and I had my Nectar Points.

So not reaaaaally a proper Twitch .......

and I still need to go to Waitrose.

I haven't done any food shopping at all. I really to get a move on but can't face it. Ds projectile vomited earlier so have been cleaning that up all night - does not make me feel Christmassy! Xmas Smile

When is everyone doing the "shop"? Also I'm making pavlova for Christmas Day dessert - does anyone how far advance that can be prepared?

NowBringUsSomeFuzzpiggyPudding · 18/12/2013 21:52

We just had a huge tesco shop delivered making use of the voucher for £60 off a £110 spend! Included stuff for 'extra Xmas' with DSCs which for a change is before the 25th not after. Got another delivery booked for 23rd which will have fresh stuff but still need to fill the basket as I only reserved it with alcohol!

A few more little presents/wrapping bits and bobs to do in town tomorrow and then heading to work for the Xmas buffet lunch - so glad I'm off as I can spend the full 2hrs with everyone.

cheesypastaplease · 19/12/2013 07:04

6 Xmas Smile Xmas Smile Xmas Smile

Exciting!! Heading up to town with dh so he can buy my christmas present - he's very organised! So going to start food shopping or get some goodies that we will probably devour before Christmas

fuzz I never thought of getting it delivered, will definitely try to do that next year - I really can't be bothered with shops this year.

Time for a bit of Slade "oh I wish it could be Christmas everyday" although Shaking Stevens is my favourite Xmas Grin,
I haven't heard Fairytale of New York yet 70s.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 19/12/2013 18:38

Oooh I heard Fairytale of New York on Tuesday ( I was working in a residential home so I couldn't sing along with the rude lyrics Xmas Grin )

Dd finishes school today, I finished work on Wednesday. So lots of baking, watching films and exploring the woods for the elves to follow!!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 20/12/2013 14:39

I'm going upstairs to wrap the presents......................I might be some time Xmas Hmm

But if I do this now, then I have an excuse to go out later and have a good old Twitch in M&S, because my dear DC had The Face when I wanted to go last week.

I've made soup.
I've bought beer.

I can leave DH to it

The tree is up! All haphazardly decorated Xmas Grin

It was lovely, DSD is here too and as I played carols on the piano everyone was singing along! We are living the dream people Xmas Grin

There was some lalalaing from the others as they're all heathens they forgot the words so next year I'll be printing out lyric sheets!

I couldn't find the present DD wanted to get DS so have had my last twitch on amazon. We have an Amazon locker at work so I can pick it up before my last shift on Monday evening!

fuzz that sounds perfect!!

We are going to local shops today to get a couple of presents. Then I'm going to "attempt" to make a chocolate log!

50shadesofknackered · 21/12/2013 06:43

Going food shopping this morning and cleaning bathroom (again) before I go to work at 12, then wrapping presents when I get home tonight (the wrapping is never ending)!!!! I've got no time for work ! I have so much to do! (Mainly wrapping)

cheesypastaplease · 21/12/2013 07:51

50s I've got to clean the house, but putting that off as long as possible! Loads to do with delivering presents and visiting relatives, it will be a busy weekend!

nickdrakeslovechild · 21/12/2013 19:53

I am all finished and wrapped, done the big food shop so ready to go. Got my LO 2nd birthday tomorrow then bring on the big day. I am so excited I could pop!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 21/12/2013 20:30

We went to Larndan today Xmas Grin

Parked at the Underground (spaces, yes ) only £2 all day.

Got to Oxford Circus- it was tipping down. Luckily I'd check the forecast and we were all waterproofed but every 2nd person had a brolley, I got poked in the head so often, I'm a colander Hmm

The shops were really Un- Christmasey. A few had music. The lights were on but looked much better when it got dark.
But most people were mooching round with meh faces.

Then we went to Kew Gardens Illuminated Walk (I'd booked it weeks ago, so of course it had to rain today )

It was ok. I reckon they could've had more Christmas lights.
It was busy but plenty of space to follow the trail.

Taking DD shopping tomorrow must be bonkers I need to get DS presents.
Bad Mother emoticon, but the little git just shrugs when I ask him what he wants.

Then I need to get my last minute fresh food .
DS presents
Some brandy for DH

And I'll be finished

Xmas Grin

Then have to clean round and do some naice cooking.

I have now got all my Christmas food apart from goose fat, I got it all in local shops do managed to avoid Tesco - which looked chocca all day. Wrapped last of presents last night so it's all done - well ds's bike needs building but I'll leave that to dh.

Happy birthday nicks dc!

I will definitely attempt chocolate log today!

NowBringUsSomeFuzzpiggyPudding · 22/12/2013 08:54

Happy birthday mininick!

We are having Xmas #1 today - DSDs are already here, DSS arriving later so we can exchange pressies, then his GF is joining us for a roast dinner and, after the little ones are asleep, a quiz that DH and DSD2 have been working on for weeks! They've (well DSD has, since DH is clueless about such things) put it together on PowerPoint and they'll be using a cable to put it on the TV screen. I can't wait! We've agreed it'll be a new tradition but we will take turns to be quizmaster. So I will be doing it next year Xmas Grin

Determined to do some baking this morning with DD. Sooo sleepy though. Haven't got out of bed yet Xmas Blush

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 22/12/2013 14:18

Two days to go.
Are we all ready?
Didn't think so.

I need to get to bed now, going to brave Waitrose tomorrow (mad) to get the last minute things.

It'll all pull together at the final furlong I'm sure Xmas Wink

50shadesofknackered · 23/12/2013 06:12

Wrapping finished except for 2.little ones thank God! I didn't think it would ever end. Upstairs cleaned (again) and bedcovers changed. Just going to clean downstairs (again) do some last minute washing, take dd1 to Dr with her cough, then have a late shift Xmas Sad I'm popping to Tesco tonight after work for the fresh stuff, I figure it should be quiet at 10pm. Then just christmassy stuff tomorrow, yay!

NowBringUsSomeFuzzpiggyPudding · 23/12/2013 08:59

Woohoo not long now!

I really need to get up as our final tesco shop should be arriving in the next hour or so. Lots of fresh stuff and far too many desserts I'm lying, there's no such thing as too many desserts

Xmas #1 yesterday was fab, played loads of games and also went for a nice walk in the dark to look at inflatable snowmen Xmas lights in the neighbourhood.

Got a bit more wrapping to do but nothing major. DH got called in to work today - a total PITA but hey, we get to keep the Soda Stream he's demonstrating?! Bribery much? :o

Thankfully DSD is staying another night to babysit as I have the late shift.
