Can't believe it is only 42 days away! I love the lead up to Christmas, planning the decorations and food, and have already got my festive Yankee Candles on the go.

I am planning on going all vintagey this year - got some lovely decorations in TK Maxx, silver and red mercury glass, will have lots of glass and candles etc. Excited!

Omg, we're in the thirties!

I need to get the shopping finished up soon!

I was going to do thanksgiving dinner but DH is away now and au pair' smother and aunt are visiting so she's staying in the city. Twould be a bit much to do a turkey for dd (who eats like a baby bird) and I only.....

cheesypastaplease · 16/11/2013 08:02

We're in the 30s!! Dcs and I are listening to christmas songs this morning - dd loves shaking Stevens Merry Christmas everyone.

I'm pretty organised presents wise. So just need to wrap everything which I love doing whilst watching christmas films!!

fuzzpig · 16/11/2013 08:27

Aaah it's getting so close! I can finally talk about Xmas at work without people looking at me like I'm crazy :o

I still have lots of presents to get but I'm not panicked and I'm happy that I have spent a lot of time thinking about what would be right for people.

Decluttering still going on too.

And this week I made an awesome dress up outfit for DD so I'm feeling confident about the crafts I've planned for Xmas too.

Yay! :o

fuzzpig · 16/11/2013 08:27

And I love wrapping too, cheesy :o

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 16/11/2013 13:06

I have a Yankee Candle burning
I'm going to sort out the presents that I've got stashed away (but I need to brace myself to wrap them ) Grin

Shopping tomorrow (the joy) to try to get some presents for my DS (nightmare to buy for. If he doesn't have any hints for us, he'll get vouchers, money, Lynx and socks )

I really need to get to bed now Blush but I'm watching QVC .

DH and I are taking the DC out and I'm really going to apply myself to my list.
I can make DH be packhorse (in exchange for lunch) .

DC are having a Young Driver Lesson (part of their Christmas presents but we didn't want to book it too near to Christmas)

Good Luck to the instuctors I say Wink

Gah! Yesterday I made the mistake of attempting to go in a few shops with DCs in tow (my parents took us to a naice neighbouring town) (incidentally I just discovered that 'naice' has been added to my autocorrect :o) big mistake it was packed and hot and the DCs kept running off. It was only an hour or so after we'd had lunch and been round a little museum. All I managed to do was sneak into whsmiths and use a voucher to get a few books for the DCs while they stayed with nanny and grandad looking at their creepy moving animal Xmas thing. I'll have to go back with DH on a school day to look in some of their indie shops as there's some specific things we want. I am determined not to take the DCs into town again before Xmas! Hmm

OddBoots · 17/11/2013 08:49

Our guest room is my Christmas grotto where I organise and wrap it all, we have guests this weekend so I've had to pack it all up but they are the last guests before Christmas so when they're gone I can get it all sorted. I'm about 95% bought and about 40% wrapped but I like to have it all done by the end of Nov so I can just bake and enjoy the season in Dec.

We've not put our tree up yet but we did need a new one so I've just ordered it. Grin Squee!
