Another year of spreadsheets and carols.
You wonderful lot you, gorn and done it again.

It's always lovely for the donator to know their parcel has arrived, so if you've had a Christmas Appeal gift this year and you'd like to use your unique MNcode to pop on this thread to say thank you, now's your chance.

We'd like to start you all off by being the first to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who's taken part. You're all brilliant!

If anyone has any questions about anything to do with the Mumsnet Christmas Appeal then do please email [email protected].

Merry Christmas!

Xmas2013SantaB4811 The parcel arrived yesterday. Thank you so, so much. Just before opening it I'd managed to break a vase, drop a bottle of Glühwein and trap my leg in the car door so your wonderful generosity and lovely words really cheered me up!

Thank you again! xx

Xmas2013SantaA3658 · 19/12/2013 10:14

Xmas2013MNA3658, I am so sorry but my DH forgot to post your parcel last week. It's on it's way now. So sorry Flowers

Xmas2013MN1543 · 19/12/2013 10:18

Xmas2013Santa1543 thank you so so much for your incredibly generous gift. My little boy will fit the clothes you sent very soon and the voucher is just amazing. Thank you so much. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas and New Year Flowers

OinkTheHeraldAngelsSing · 19/12/2013 10:45

I wanted to thank both my nominator and the person who sent me a gift so I'll do the first as myself and then namechange for the second (I don't mind giving up my anonymity when people have been so generous).

To my nominator, I honestly don't know what I did to make you think of me. I actually wrote to MN staff because I thought it was a joke but they confirmed that a real person, you, really did put me forward. Because of the circumstances of my life, it means more to me than perhaps you realise. I wish I could say thank you to you directly but, at the very least, I hope you read this and know how grateful I am.

Xmas2013Santa5517

I got your present and would like to say how much I appreciate it. For various reasons, I haven't received a Christmas present (apart from ones bought by myself) for four years. Yours is the first in all that time, the only one I'll be opening on Christmas Day and, as such, it's become rather special.

I have no idea what it could be (I've shook it and everything). The only thing I know is that it seems like it's in a metal tin. Whatever it is, I want you to know how much of a difference it is going to make to my Christmas Day. The difference between no presents and one present is massive.

Whoever you are, thank you so much for your generosity. I don't quite know how to express how much it means.

Xmas2013MN4782 · 19/12/2013 12:20

Many, many thanks to Xmas2013A4782. I haven't opened it yet but it's obvious what it contains. I am very much looking forward to Christmas Day when I will find out what the selection is. Thanks

To Xmas2013SantaB8275

Thank you so much!

I have just taken delivery of a lovely hamper from you, for my family. I was expecting ds2's present from us to be delivered this morning, so it wasn't until I was back in the living room that I realised who the parcel was addressed to.

Ds1 has already broken up from school, so I had to hide in the kitchen to open it to make sure he didn't peek - although he still had a good try! I don't know who was more excited, him or me! Xmas Grin

Your gifts for my dcs are absolutely perfect, they are going to be so excited when we open the hamper together on Christmas morning. Ds1 has just said he can't wait for Christmas now, as it's even more exciting knowing a really kind person he doesn't even know has sent him a gift. Xmas Grin

Dh and I will really enjoy our hot chocolates curled up in front of an open fire, looking out onto the rough winter seas, when we take the dcs away for a few days during the holidays. I'm looking forward to it already. Xmas Smile

I will keep the lovely box the gifts came in as well. I thought I could use it to store my more precious tree decorations, then when it comes out every year I will be reminded of your kindness, generosity and the careful consideration that went into your gifts.

I have been struggling this week. The pressures of Christmas and all the school-related chaos and organisation that brings, on top of organising the family Christmas and dh working longer hours in a new job have taken their toll and receiving your gifts this morning has given me a real lift.

Thank you. Flowers

Xmas2013MN5542

Hi, just to say I posted a little something yesterday - sorry it's a bit late and I am really hoping it'll arrive in time... Xmas Blush.
I had plenty of warning from MNHQ but did not get my act together in a timely manner.
Wishing you a great run-up to Christmas and a lovely time x.

Xmas2013MN1103 · 19/12/2013 13:09

To my lovely Santa, I have now spent your generous voucher on my boys:

For DS1 I have science putty (as recommended by his occupational therapist and special needs health visitor), an angry birds game to encourage him to play and not just want to go on the computer (I can play it with him to encourage turn taking etc) and dispicable me on DVD as he struggles to sit through films and we've only taken him to the cinema once (it didn't go well!) so I thought we could practice watching that.

For DS2 I have a crayola wipe board which is black one side, white the other with bright crayons as he loves scribbling drawing (he's 19 months) and a Mickey Mouse Christmas DVD as he will love it.

Thank you so much again for the voucher, I wanted you to know how it was spent.

Xmas2013MN1430 · 19/12/2013 13:33

To my lovely Santa, your package arrived safely and we have put with everything else and we will open it Christmas morning!

I am so overwhelmed with how many things there are and based on feel (I'm a baad girl) seems to be stuff for my son and me and my husband.

Thank you in advance and I'll post again after Christmas morning.

Xmas2013MN4039 · 19/12/2013 15:43

To my Santa mumsnetter

(miss J - Newcastle)

A parcel arrived today and I am so touched and grateful Thanks

My son is obsessed with film/cinema but has asd so you have gifted us the perfect Christmas eve - a film with lashings of popcorn, hot chocolate and sweeties.
You are so kind and I feel so incredibly humble and, to be honest, a bit weepy.
It was a crappy year and you have reminded me how lovely people are.

Merry Christmas
Xxxx

Xmas2013MN1276 · 19/12/2013 16:08

helen (you didn't put your secret nickname)

Rather gobsmacked in a good way, your parcels arrived I've fought the temptation to unwrap and they have been hidden till Christmas.

This whole Christmas has humbled and amazed me thank you so much. I'm glad you enjoyed choosing them and I hope you know my whole family will be thinking of you this Christmas.

I also today received a cloud B baby toy, it didn't have a note in it or anything saying who sent it so if it was anybody reading please don't think I haven't thanked you I just don't know who to thank. Cloud b night toys are great my toddler has one (ladybug star light) he loves it and won't go to sleep without it,I'm sure the baby will love this one just as much when she's old enough to know about light.

Xmas Smile Dearest Xmas2013Santa3796, Xmas Smile

Many thanks for your kind voucher. I am really thrilled, as I have been needing a new swimsuit for a while (how freaking hard are they to find in the winter!) but didn't consider M&S as they are a bit pricey. I will now treat myself to a lovely fancypants new swimsuit (my current one is really worn Xmas Blush) and have seen a couple to choose from in M&S, so thank you so so much, it's really kind and generous of you. Thanks

I wish you and yours an especially wonderful Christmas. From me and mine. xxx

P.S. It made me smile that the postman knocked and asked me if I was Mrs.M.Netter! Xmas Smile

Xmas2013MN9877 · 19/12/2013 16:25

To my lovely Santa MN9877,

Thank you ever so much for sending me a gift. I can't tell you how lovely it was to get the parcel and see 'to the MumsNetter of the house' in your beautiful handwriting.

I hope you don't mind but I've placed it under the tree unopened so that I have it to look forward to on the day. Christmas is going to be difficult this year for a number of reasons I won't bore you with but I am so excited to have this to look forward to. It will probably be my only present this year so wanted to have something to open on the day.

I will post a proper thank you once it has been opened but just wanted to let you know it has been received safely and is already tempting me from under the tree.

Wishing you a very merry Christmas from my family to yours FlowersXmas Smile.

SantaSandy · 19/12/2013 17:17

We'd like to thank Kay and Jo who very kindly donated one of their truly lovely den kits to the Mumsnet Christmas Appeal.

supermariossister · 19/12/2013 17:19

hope my parcel has arrived and the recipient is just away or hasn't found this thread will be so sad if it has gone missing. Santa A mn2161.

Xmas2013SantaA6922 · 19/12/2013 17:24

I think mine may be lost too :( Sent it at least a fortnight ago and would fit through letterbox

supermariossister · 19/12/2013 17:28

makes you worry someone is missing out but hopefully they have just been unable to post

WhoKnowsWhereTheMistletoes · 19/12/2013 17:30

Well, I remember on the thread once before seeing a recipient saying that their life was in such upheaval at the time that they had forgotten they had been nominated and then the gift had got into a pile of unopened mail and not noticed for a couple of weeks, so those that haven't responded may have an explanation similar to that, just too much else going on, or they may not have much internet access or similar.

Xmas2013MN9877 · 19/12/2013 17:50

I nearly didn't post yet because I haven't opened the gift so considered posting after opening on Christmas Day. But then I thought it might be better for my Santa to know now that the parcel had arrived safely so I decided to post. It could be that recipients are also saving their gifts until Christmas and waiting to post until opened?

supermariossister · 19/12/2013 17:52

hope so Smile

Xmas2013SantaC1103 · 19/12/2013 18:03

MN1103, you have more than one Santa! Xmas Grin

Just wanted to give you a heads up there's a package on its way, posted First Class Tuesday. I'm crossing my fingers it will fit through your letterbox...

MN7270 · 19/12/2013 18:19

santa7270 your generous gift has left us speechless. I cannot thank you enough for your generosity to a stranger. I hadn't anticipated anything so I'm really not sure what I'll do with the lovely lot of Next vouchers, but I know we will all enjoy the Costa card for a lovely treat.

Thank you so much. A very happy Christmas to you and your family too. Xx
