Another year of spreadsheets and carols.
You wonderful lot you, gorn and done it again.

It's always lovely for the donator to know their parcel has arrived, so if you've had a Christmas Appeal gift this year and you'd like to use your unique MNcode to pop on this thread to say thank you, now's your chance.

We'd like to start you all off by being the first to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who's taken part. You're all brilliant!

If anyone has any questions about anything to do with the Mumsnet Christmas Appeal then do please email [email protected].

Merry Christmas!

I am MN8969 and j just wanted to say that I was utterly delighted to be nominated this year. Thank you to whoever thought that I was a worthy recipient of this honour.

Just checking namechange

xmas2013SantaA8157 · 17/12/2013 18:59

Just to let MN8157 know that they haven't been forgotten and their parcel is finally on it's way!

Xmas2013MN3408 · 17/12/2013 19:36

Testing name change...

Xmas2013MN3408 · 17/12/2013 19:43

Santa3408 I am trying to think of a "non-outing" landmark on my school bus route now... Hmm... Royal Marines..? And if you ever gave a small Christmas gift of a 1980s chunky plastic bracelet to a quiet girl on the bus then it is just possible that an almighty Christmas co-incidence has befallen us!

Saw your message on here late last night and didn't get the chance to post....typically the delivery came in the 4 minutes pre getting back from DS drop off from school!! Normally the postie brings parcels at about 1pm Grin

I'll pop to the sorting office tomorrow if I can or def on Thursday.

I just wanted to let you know it did make it as it were. Thank you. Whatever is in it, I know it will have been sent with MN love. And I want you to know I do, and will, truly appreciate it.

Much unMN lurve to you and yours. I will be back to gush further once I've picked it up Grin

Xmas2013santaA8267 · 17/12/2013 21:14

Hi MN8267

So glad the parcel arrived. I think I worked out who you are, and you give so much support to other people on MN, so you deserve a treat.

I hope that you and your family have a wonderful Christmas, despite the circumstances that you find yourselves in. Me and my family will be thinking of you on Christmas Day.

Much love from us all.

PeachyPlumFairy · 17/12/2013 21:37

Dearest Santa0065

Thank you so much for your lovely gift. I'm not sure I have the right words but you couldn't't have chosen better. They turned up after a fraught few days (shortages mean our autistic ds3 has a fifty per cent chance of a school place for year 7, LEA would pay indie if needed but there Isn't anywhere). Anyway I was low and they turned up on the 15th anniversary of our first date, so have made a wonderful sharing treat. Thank you so, so very much. Its been such a mood boost before Christmas, and I feel so blessed.
Merry Christmas, I hope you get such a good one (and apols for random typos and grammar, she on PC and not used to mn'ing on the tablet)

Also thank you organic for the box, it's turned out to be something my youngest boy likes and that's a rare gift!

minmooch · 17/12/2013 22:07

Dear Santa 1949

Thank you so much to whoever nominated me. I've had another tough year looking after my two sons, one of whom is seriously ill. The support I have received from Mumsnet has been invaluable and helped me get through some very tough times. It has given me a place to come for support, somewhere I can express my fears and provided me with distraction when I have lain awake with anxiety.

I hope in return I have given support when I have been able.

My gifts have been wonderful and I am overwhelmed. I will use my vouchers on something we can all enjoy. The cream and chocolates I shall really enjoy as a treat for myself guilt free.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. These gifts have brought tears of a different kind xxx

minmooch · 17/12/2013 22:08

I should have signed off

Xmas2013SantaA8770 · 17/12/2013 22:08

Xmas2013MN8770 hope your parcel has arrived safe as my packing was pretty poor ?

Xmas2013MN4906 · 17/12/2013 23:38

Received a big parcel today marked "the mumsnetter of the house" despite having already received a very generous gift.
It turns out to be direct from mothercare/elc I'm guessing they are donating some gifts too? I hope they read this as I have no idea how to thank them otherwise, they must be psychic as they sent the exact toy that I really wanted to buy for ds but couldn't afford, I cried over that because I knew he would love it! I cried sad tears when I realised I couldn't give him what he wanted and I downright sobbed when I opened the parcel and realised that thanks to mumsnet and mothercare/elc I can give it to him.

Xmas2013SantaA4906: I've been to m&s today and we now have gorgeous posh treats for Christmas Day. Xmas Grin thank you so much again. Ds is still begging for a bath about ten times a day to play lol Xx

Xmas2013MN8871 · 18/12/2013 07:49

Ok I think there must be spies or a lot of psychic MNers out there. Got two packets yesterday ( more to collect , postman put MNetter on the card!) and they were t shirts for the little ones that were spot on, one I'd looked at but had wavered and didn't get in the end!
It's so hard buying presents for people you don't know and mine have been exactly right and I'm very grateful.

OodKingWenceslas · 18/12/2013 07:51

I'm very intrigued by the poster who may actually know her Santa from years ago.

scarlotti · 18/12/2013 08:00

Me too OodKing Grin

scarlotti · 18/12/2013 08:02

Anyone know how you search in a thread? Have tried to read every post but worried I've missed my recipient's confirmation that their parcel arrived

OodKingWenceslas · 18/12/2013 08:09

Search by poster?

RemoteControlGeekToyOfTheYear · 18/12/2013 08:17

scarlotti if you're on a pc, click on the 'show all messages' link at the top of the thread, then press ctrl+F on your keyboard to bring up the 'find' box of your browser (this may not be a popup window, it may just be a bar at the top or bottom of the screen depending on your browser)

scarlotti · 18/12/2013 11:28

Thanks remote, will do that later

Xmas2013SantaA9291 · 18/12/2013 11:41

Xmas2013MN9291

I ordered some vouchers and a little sweet treat for you and your DD yesterday - hopefully they came today but if not hopefully you will get it soon

Apols for not sending them directly I am not in the UK and the last few times the postage was nearly more expensive than the presents I sent so this year I said I would do it differently.

Thanks

Xmas2013SantaA9964 · 18/12/2013 12:01

Xmas2013MN9964 I hope your parcel should be delivered today by Royal Mail Parcelforce 48.

Enjoy!!

Xmas2013MN4015 · 18/12/2013 13:50

Thankyou so much to Xmas2013MN4015 (sender - I think we have the same codename - it's all a bit secret squirrel and confusing!!)

Your big box just arrived - and I am overwhelmed. Reading through the presents you have got the dds and ds, they are just perfect, they will be delighted.

It is so lovely to have been nominated and to see the things that others have taken so much care to put together. It really is just the loveliest thing.

Xmas2013MN8723 · 18/12/2013 14:01

Hi, thank you so much Santa. Your parcel arrived at the weekend but I haven't had a chance to write a proper thank you. The children opened the gifts already as I didn't want them to get "lost" amongst all the excitement of Christmas Day and not appreciated as much as they deserved.

My DS has cancer and it's been a long old haul this year. In April we were told he wouldn't grow up but miraculously he has got better, at least in the short term. He's recently finished treatment and is having scans this week to find out whether or not he's in remission.

The treatment has left him unable to walk for a while so the art set and DVD were perfect and he loves them. DD adores her doll and carries it with her everywhere. The gifts were perfect. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

We are planning to use the voucher on having a lovely cooking-free meal this weekend. DS' results are due on Monday and neither of us fancies cooking so we will have a lovely meal, regardless. Thank you.

Also, massive thanks to Mothercare for their gifts as well. They will go down very well with the DCs at Christmas.

We are incredibly grateful and both you and Mothercare have reduced us to tears with your generosity.

Thank you.

Xmas2013MN1103 · 18/12/2013 14:01

I just wanted to pop in to say I haven't forgotten to update my wonderful Santa, I'm hoping to get to Boots tomorrow to get the boys something with your generous voucher.

I also want to thank Mothercare/ELC for sending me a wonderful package containing a Happyland London Bus and a Monty Monkey and his Car. These will be a big hit on Christmas Day and I'm hoping it will encourage DS1 to play with toys (I think he will like the bus).
