Thank you Grin

I was in an M&S foodhall today where they had the Hampers brochure. I enquired about the christmas food and was told they would be available next week (no day/date given), so guess it'll go live then?

RudolphLovesoftplay · 03/10/2013 18:06

Catalogue is out on 10th according to the very naice shop assistant I asked yesterday.

milk · 03/10/2013 18:09
Shock

You have to book a collection slot, and there are known available?!? Shock

AnneEyhtMeyer · 03/10/2013 18:13

Oh I am so glad the passionfruit mousse with raspberry coulis is on there again this year - it was lovely last year, and such a nice refreshing pudding to have after a big roast meal. My dad said on Boxing Day "it is such a shame you only ordered one" - so this year I will be ordering two!

Willemdefoeismine · 03/10/2013 18:21

Thanks for the info - the 10th it is then....

Mind you, I am well known for drooling over the M&S and Waitrose Christmas Food Brochures and then talking myself out of ordering anything!

Perhaps you can all persuade me this year!

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 03/10/2013 18:29

Never again, the queues at pick ip time are horrendous in our branch and have been less than impressed with the food in the past. Will drool at the brochure and resist temptation.

Fairydogmother · 03/10/2013 18:31

Oooo so exciting! We had the pannacotta last year and it was gorgeous. Wasn't keen on the 3 bird roast tho.

Really want the little chocolate Christmas trees!

MmeLindor · 03/10/2013 18:35

Isn't it an absolute nightmare to pick up? We were in M&S foodhall just before Xmas last year and the queue went the length of the shop.

FuckyNell · 03/10/2013 18:37

I ate some stollen from waitrose today. Merry Christmas!

usualsuspect · 03/10/2013 18:42

£13 for 6 chocolate cakes?

I will stick to Asda Grin

Badvoc · 03/10/2013 18:42

I am sorely tempted this year...plus my bro gets 20% off :)

Badvoc · 03/10/2013 18:42

Those little Xmas trees look lovely

Fairydogmother · 03/10/2013 18:45

We always choose the earliest pick up time to avoid the queues!

I'll happily budget on everything else to get a yummy dessert lol

Ridersofthestorm · 03/10/2013 18:47

I'm like OMG!!

mumtoone1 · 03/10/2013 18:48

I've pre-ordered over the last 5 or so years and
Pick up has never been a problem for me. Trick is to go early.

I'm going to get my usual turkey crown. Also going to try the Italian Stuffing Terrine as will be great for boxing day left overs. Dessert wise its a toss up between the snow bomb or the Pifitoroles (which I had last year). Fancied getting my veg from there too as havent in the past but don't think I can justify £25.00 for the prepared selection!!

I was wondering that Mme, it's just horrific in ours for the whole of December.

I don't think I could take it!

HaroldLloyd · 03/10/2013 18:56

Oh it all sounds so lovely.

If I ordered to collect on the Sunday I could make DP go.

How quickly does it fill up? I've never done it before.

howdoyousolvethisproblem · 03/10/2013 19:10

But where oh where is the JIngle Bell?!!? At least they still have the white chocolate snow bombe.

mumtoone1 · 03/10/2013 19:21

Have you tried the white chocolate bombe howdoyou? I fancy it not sure if DS will like it. but then he'll be so full on chocolate anyway he rarely eats pud.

I think we're going to order the three bird roast this year. Has anyone tried it before? I'm eyeing up the puddings, but think we might go homemade instead... Decisions, decisions!

bymoonlight · 03/10/2013 20:04

I have a Heston hidden orange pudding already - its on offer in Waitrose.

But now I want a snow bombe ...

Fairydogmother · 03/10/2013 20:05

We had the 3 bird roast and I wasn't keen to be honest. The duck was very dry and I felt it was too much of a compromise to be that successful.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 03/10/2013 20:33

I got the earliest slot available for Christmas Eve last year, and would have been able to pick it up without queuing but the delivery lorry was late, so we all had to wait for it to be unloaded.

It was definitely worth it though. I used the waiting time to shop for the extras I couldn't order in advance and it was quite a friendly atmosphere.

Last year they gave a bottle of wine for early orders - I wonder if they are doing that again this year? We got a lovely bottle of Prosecco last year.
